For some reason Scrab Cakes always read as "sweet" to me, never savory. Probably because of the colour scheme. If anything they would literally be crab cakes except recoloured.

Paramite Pies on the other hand always looked like just meat pies.

Are there any places that you can find existing Oddworld merchandise? Just pictures is fine. I've heard that there was some old oddworld merchandise at one time, and I'm really intrested.

Well, first of all there's a buy list.

There isn't really much in terms of merchandise. You might find something on Ebay or Amazon, but as a whole it's either better to just make something yourself or have someone else make something for you.

Or just wait until more merchandise is released, which is looking to be very soon.

Well, obviously. I wasn't asking for the source of the photo, but rather the source of the model.

Plush live ammo keychains. A hat that looks like Munch's head complete with sonar. An oddworld book that gives you all the information you need, like a guide with tons of juicy never-before-seen images. Every time a new game comes out, they release a new volume. It will have:

Species: For example, First page is glukkons. Shows biology and main description of glukkon species. Then goes to glukkon classes with images, and then pages for every glukkon we've seen. Half pages for unimportant ones like Tex, unless they want to add backstory, which would be nice.
Companies and products and tech: Vykkers Labs as an example. Gives description of vykkers labs with logo, and then gives half a page for every product.
Locations:Example would be New Yolk City. Includes map, some pictures of the buildings, description, and residents.
Plantlife: Pretty self explanatory

I'd buy that! 343 industries made something like that for Halo and it turned out to be a good little book. But somehow I don't think OWI will ever do something like that.

C'mon, it's possible! Anyone here read the Oficcial Sonic Comic Encyclopedia? Or the Marvel Encyclopedia? The most similar to what I was thinking of is that huge Star Wars Guide Collection that they keep adding new volumes to.

Larger franchises can afford to do that because they have the resources available from several decades of product releases. A book like, something I've wanted to make for years, is a major undertaking and not something we're going to be in a position to do any time soon.

I don't think there would be much new content either what with the Art of Oddworld Inhabitants book existing. Maybe after a few more games have come out.

Yeah, I guess they don't have quite enough to work with yet. Maybe when Oddworld becomes more of a well-known franchise again. Like if it is as popular as it was when AE and AO came out.

Recently I've been a massive nerd and bought a couple little figurines from various games to sit on my desk.

I wouldn't mind seeing some little Oddworld figurines for such a purpose. Hell, JAW could probably make them themselves with a cheap 3D printer.

Don't the people who make mods have access to the source character models? A website such as www.shapeways.com could print them if they were uploaded I'd imagine, fully coloured from the game textures and in whatever pose you wanted.

I have no idea if that would be legal or not :p

The people who make the AO mods only have access to the game's sprites.

Now that you mention it, there was someone who ripped some of the character models from MO. Using them would probably be breach of copyright and would definitely be grounds for suing me if I sold the models. But for my private usage it would be a legal grey area.


Also, bugger Shapeways. I have direct access to 3d printers I can use.

However, if it were a real thing, i'd love to see it come in either a sack I can hang from my ceiling, or in a glass box that says "Break in case of Elum eating honey. -Strictly for bee hive purposes only."
