Sheri, why don't you just take my advice and stop posting for a while. Just friggin lurk for a while, and learn. Start off by either joining debates(in a mature manner of course), make genuinely funny but modest jokes, and just be friendly. Stop trying to be edgy, it's doesn't work for newbies.

If you don't heed to these advices, then suit yourself. people will just continue to trample you. In the end, we're happy with the way things are here, and if you don't fit in. That's not our loss.

Okay, what the fuck. Is there some band wagon dogging Sheridan's footsteps, awaiting an opportunity to dish out some negrep. Look everybody, I'm publicly stating that I gave Sheridan some negrep, don't I just fit in?

I've been posrepping Sheridan because that red mudokon face annoys me. What is even the point of negrep, to tell someone how much you dislike them; surely it's not to encourage a better posting standard, for the lack of posrep should certainly do that. So is negrep bombing Sheridan like Dresden really going to make him a better poster? I seriously doubt it; it might however give him the impression that he is hated here; he may then leave. Unless that is your plan, in which case it's a very cuntish one. Anyway I would much rather see Sheridan become a more valued poster than see him vanish from the forums entirely.

You have to admit that he's disregarding and even outright ignoring quite a lot of constructive advice.

"What do you think of Sheridan's post?" If the answer is "I disapprove", negrep away. That's what the rep system is for and I see no issue.

Anyway, Sheridan, what you've got to understand is that almost everybody in this thread has been on the forums for a couple of years or more. Yes, we all act like dicks, but that's because we understand each other well enough to know what's appropriate and what isn't. You've just got to stick around and be a bit less precocious in terms of your position.

When I joined at 13 or 14, I didn't understand any of what was happening, and I'm still left confused on a regular basis. But you wouldn't wander into a group of people IRL and start insulting them, or acting like you'd known them all your life, so I didn't. I stuck to giving input when it was relevant and helpful, and once I'd established that I was a generally nice person, I earned the privileges to lapse into acting like a idiot when I deemed it necessary, without it being taken at face value i.e. making me look like an idiot. And look at me now. I act like a cunt 24/7, and I'm the 4th most reputable member here.

tl;dr, You need to show us you're smart if you don't want people to think you're stupid.

For an English Language perspective, I'm actually intrigued by Sheri's mindset towards the forum.
