You're not invited anyways :O

Following Nemo's post. I, too, am scared by the ocean. I don't mind being at the beach beside the water, I even don't mind walking beside the water so the water laps over my feet. But as soon as I'm deep enough for all the imaginary sharks, pihrannas, killer whales and dolphin people then I feak out. Also, a mouthful of salty water deters me enough to keep me away rationally.

Mr.Spandexpants 01-12-2012 11:46 PM

:C why am I not invited?

But I do agree with you Ridg3, water scares me when I'm out deep enough. Well, not really scares, but it sure makes me paranoid.

Mudokon_Master 01-13-2012 12:23 AM

EDIT: I'm slow. Nevermind, I should really refresh an old page before deciding to comment.
I'll try to put an on-topic input in. Water sucks. I hate swimming.

DarkHoodness 01-17-2012 06:13 PM

WTF. I just got scared shitless about 10 minutes ago and have just calmed down enough to write about it.

I was sitting here minding my own business at 1:50am chilling infront of the PC and I suddenly get interrupted by this VERY loud, ear-piercing screaming. It was unexpected, I seriously thought someone was being murdered, and I couldn't get my head around it 'cause I live in what could be considered in the middle of nowhere... I nearly shat my pants.

I ran outside in my socks with a head torch and a crowbar not knowing what to expect - It was only after I left my front door when the screaming started to sound more in-human, and only then did I realise what it was.

Two foxes were having an argument right outside my ground-floor window, one of which had a loud, high-pitched, piercing voice... Of course I was really angry with them and chased them off. Fucking, fucking things.

They're everywhere and I always hear them, it's common to find them roaming the streets at night (I often see at least 3 while cycling home late from work or friends), but I've never heard one with such a damned high-pitched voice. Fucking hell.

Guess I can add "unexpected loud fox screaming" to the list of things that scare me. Fuck.

Mudokon_Master 01-17-2012 07:47 PM

Holy shit, that would've been scary. I always shit my pants when birds swoop down at me with their SQWARKing. I don't even know what to expect while walking down the street in Spring anymore.

Scraby 01-18-2012 02:53 AM

bird drops?

Anyways,I went earlier to sleep yesterday, and in the middle of the night I started hearing freaky thumping sounds, like someone heavy was walking around in our house, afther that I heard some creepy noises that sounded like screaming :@ I couldnt sleep till 4.15 am.And the sounds were like getting closer and closer until they just stopped.

Sekto Springs 01-18-2012 09:58 AM

Last night I had trouble falling asleep because of a very low, intermittent rumbling sound that occurred frequently throughout the night. It wasn't scary, just kind of annoying. I never figured out what it was, but it was probably the wind, which was blowing a gale that night.

Viva Rijeka man.

You must have taken a photo? What you go so frightened you passed out and forgot?

No, but it was late at night, and sometimes when i wake up i cant really remember thigs that have happened while ive been half asleep, i swear when i find my USB lead i'll upload it.

Sekto Springs 01-19-2012 08:37 PM

A new installment for all of you fans of the "weird things I hear at night" saga.

Last night before I fell asleep, I heard a very distinct (and fairly loud) breathy whispering in my room. It made me quite uneasy, and came at 2-3 minute intervals throughout the night. At first I assumed it was just the wind, like the night before, and it was whistling through a crack in the ventilation system or something. However, it was dead calm outside, and I've never experienced such a phenomena in the 10+ years I've lived here.

After sitting at the edge of my bed for a while with my ears pricked, I finally found the source of the sound - my new humidifier. Every couple of minutes, an air bubble would form, and the release of air from the steam vent created a whispery gust of air. Depending on the number/size of the bubbles, the "whispering" would be highly varied in length and frequency, with distinct breaks in between, creating the illusion of forming words.

I was relieved, but the sound was still a bit bothersome. Eventually I tuned it out and nodded off.

DarkHoodness 01-19-2012 08:46 PM

At least you found out what it is - There's almost always a reasonable explanation for things like this, just our imaginations like to play tricks on us.

Sekto Springs 01-19-2012 08:50 PM

Even if I can't find a reasonable explanation, I always form a reasonable assumption, and that's often enough to get me through the night.

Unless I spent the evening watching Marble Hornets.

Nepsotic 01-19-2012 11:26 PM

Its a little different when its outside your bedroom window...
Also, on the subject of scary noises, ever since i can remember, on selected nights before i go yo sleep i hear an unsettling whistling noise, though its happened many times and even at other houses, so i assume its just the wind. I always look for a logical explanation and that is the only one.

Mudokon_Master 01-19-2012 11:44 PM

This happened to me last night ...
I have my desk, laptop and bed in my room. Last night before bed, I tried to open Abe's Oddysee but my laptop was being a piece of shit and not responding, not opening stuff when I click on it. I decided to go into the kitchen and look for food while I wait, but then I got caught up in other stuff and forgot all about AO's loading. I went to bed without turning my laptop off, like I usually do.
Halfway through my slumber, I was awoken to this. (From 18 seconds)
I immediately shat my pants and hid under the covers, shocked and confused. What the fuck was this evil noise doing in my room?
Then I heard a familiar 'hello' and I jumped out of my bed to see Abe's ugly trolling mug.
I hate Abe. He can go to hell.

Nepsotic 01-20-2012 12:02 AM

In my first oddworld phase, where i couldnt put down Abe's Oddysee, every time i closed my eyes to sleep i always saw the levels of rupture farms

Cheifanator 01-20-2012 08:54 AM

Right I'm gonna sound like the world's biggest pussy but anyway here what scares me.Doing the dishes , like the feeling the feeling of the food makes me feel really scared its like a load of worms or something when we have rice or noodles...etc and when I eat meat cos of veins and stuff I don't mind eating meat but like just veins and all that, sure just the other week I was having dinner and I hadn't touched anything when I saw a fucking heart valve in a piece of beef at that point I had already gotten up and made up a non believable excuse, later that night my sister said I didn't eat my dinner because of the valve in it like she planted it there so now I'm really cautious with my meat.

Nepsotic 01-20-2012 09:11 AM

Your scared of beef? Are you sure you didnt just have a nightmare about the advert with the giant beefburger?

Varrok 01-20-2012 09:52 AM

We don't think (or at least me) you're being a pussy because of that... I think Abe shits pants every time he dreams about popsicles... I mean they're just popsicles, what's so scary about them?

Scraby 01-20-2012 10:11 AM

Its the meat,Its the meeeaaat!
Hmm how would someone feel seeing humans turned into canibalist humburger food XD
I think they will have big nightmares XD

Nepsotic 01-20-2012 10:11 AM

To be fair i hate washing the pots, i just dont like the idea of watery food floating about all over my hands.

NyOe!s 01-22-2012 02:46 AM

I am a very deep sleeper so I'm afraid of rolling down the side of my bed and sufficating or dying of a really stupid thing like slipping on stairs and cracking my skull open.

Nepsotic 01-22-2012 03:32 AM

Why, are your stairs made of steel or something?

Phylum 01-22-2012 03:47 AM

As long as it isn't really thin wood it shouldn't matter too much. So long as he drops from 3 meters above them.

Mudokon_Master 01-22-2012 03:50 AM

It's surprisingly easy to split your head actually. Doesn't take much force at all. Doesn't require metal at the slightest.

STM 01-22-2012 04:26 AM

Nope, I cracked many a skull with my bare fists.

The fact that you know that is unnerving

STM 01-22-2012 06:40 AM

Or perhaps he just knows basic human anatomy.

MeechMunchie 01-22-2012 07:39 AM

The screams in Darwinia freak me out.

Varrok 01-22-2012 11:25 AM

The OST of DEFCON makes me at least disturbed:

Imagine that song playing just as you decide to nuke a city

OddYouko 01-22-2012 11:49 AM

Plenty of things scare the hell out of me.
Like some mentioned earlier, I also don't dangle my feet down from the couch/bed anymore, especially when its dark or if I'm the only one in the room.
Spiders. Just the other day, my twin was watching a random video of this spider(Forgot the name of it), and I was just freaked out by it. And lets not forget the Weeping Angels from Doctor Who. I can no longer look at any Angel statue the same way again after seeing the episodes.

I actually haven't seen a really good, actually scary movie in a while.
Now that's when I want to jump out of my seat. :P

As I was reading that something crawled on my leg. yeah I don't like creepy spiders either

Nepsotic 01-27-2012 09:19 AM

Slenderman, told you.

http://www.oddworldforums.net/attach...0&d=1327684749

bad quality though

Oddey 01-28-2012 03:30 PM

Mirrors or reflective surfaces are scary to me.

Bathrooms. Usually because there are mirrors there.

Old and rusty looking radiators. Again, sometimes found in bathrooms.

Water where I either can't see the bottom, or every single section it fills. Like I avoid filters in pools.

Waking up on a bus or train, and not being sure where you are.

Walking on steets where either nobody is around or few people are around.

And all the usual stuff like dolls, hallways, darkness, unexplained noises, people sneaking up on you.

Given the right circumstances, nearly anything can scare me. A cat once jumped into my windowsill. I was fucking scared for a second.

Scraby 01-28-2012 03:58 PM

i dont like looking in a mirror when its night especialy when its 1 or 2 am,and if i watch a horror movie about freaky girls showing up on mirrors then i like to peak behind me when i brush teeth just to make sure no ugly son of a b***h can pop up on the mirror. My friend once did that to me,from then till today i keep the bathroom doors closed.I also dont like when im alone at night that dolls stare at me,makes me feel like im being watched by something dreaded. And i cant stand beds witch have legs, especialy if i watched something on a tv,and afther few hours i get the feeling something might be underneath......
something like this:

STM 01-28-2012 04:01 PM

You can always attack anything with a spoon I dunno if you'll remember that.

Nice to see you're still alive btw Mike. ;D

Scraby 01-28-2012 04:08 PM

hmm spoon.Idk but it might be effective if its sharp XD.
Im ok currently, still a bit dazly but ok.
Also i cant stand these pop out horrors, where monsters suddenly jump out and kill people, its so disturbing.

Daxter King 02-04-2012 12:37 AM

Right now the rustling right outside my window is scaring me.

Scraby 02-05-2012 03:19 AM

Lol on friday in our road vehicles class, when the wind was blowing the windows were producing loud ghostly sounds XD
