Some people might remember my version of the Fee Co. Train, but here it is if you want to check it out... http://i.imgur.com/QVcl5.jpg
|
I vaguely recall looking at it, and telling you how awesome it was.
Speaking of awesome... |
Final scene OK !
Hope I'll show you that soon ;) |
Ooh, looking forward to that. :)
|
Well, before, let me show you with more details, the train ;)
As you can see, there's not a ton of details, but, I told you before, it's a fixed scene, so that's enough ;) I apologize for the few bugs texture/modelling...This train has been made about 2 years ago, when I used to be...too fast ^^ Today, it makes me sick. Don't have the time to fix everything today so, it will be okay for this time ;) Remember that everything showed here might be changed (In the 2D photoshop part, or 3D small modifications) like textures, lights, etc...I know it will 'cause I can already say that some things on this train make me sick :) Here we go ! http://www.affectueusement-votre-eco...4-pres-inv.jpg http://www.affectueusement-votre-eco...5-pres-inv.jpg http://www.affectueusement-votre-eco...6-pres-inv.jpg And here is a short animation, I know you like that, so this is my gift :) Hugs from France ! |
This is amazing man I love it!
|
You have not surprised me, LauricGK. I got used to you doing awesome 3D graphics.
|
Thank you, both of you guys ;)
|
Very, very impressive. Well done indeed.
|
Excellent work!!!
|
If I didn't know better, I'd say you'd found the original model.
|
Haha, thanks guys ;))
Now I can tell you more about the final picture size : 12 000 * 5625. HUGE. |
OMG !
Look what I found while I was working ! He's everywhere. http://www.affectueusement-votre-eco...o/r17-pres.jpg Wow. ;) |
A silhouette of mudokon... jerking off?
|
|
Impressive teaser preview, I love the lighting. :) Though I'd use a different mudokon pose for the silhouette, maybe like this which I've just made based on an image from Abe's Exoddus:
http://www.oddworldforums.net/attach...1&d=1329851776 EDIT: Actually that looks awful now that I've seen it on a non-white background. You might have to clean it up a bit or make a new one based on a sprite. Blah. |
Isn't it strange that he's completely black despite the fact he's standing under a lamp?
|
Some people are never happy.
|
Seems like I forgot to say that's an awesome (as always) render.
So: "That's an awesome render" |
He's being lit from the back, so the front is naturally in shadow.
|
Relax guys haha I just thought it could have been funny to add abe's silhouette ^^ it's something added quickly with no precision...just to have fun ! I'll give more realism one day ;)
Btw, he's not under the lamp, the lamp is behind him. And for the silhouette I just took the first abe's picture I found on google images when you type "abe" ;) |
It's funny, actually, I thought that when I write "abe" in google images the first will be Abe Lincoln's, but it really is Abe from Oddworld. Impressive.
|
You saw that too ! I was also kind of stunned. But well, he deserves to be first, finally, hehe ;)
|
Great pic! Huge train and small Abe...
|
If I didn't know the game so well, I'd say that was a scene you had taken directly from it.
|
Thank you Oddey & Versus !
It's time for update ! Okay, so, first, some news you have to hear ; As I said, the 3D part is (almost) done. Now I start the 2D part (Photoshop - Having a lot of fun with it) The final scene is 12000x5625px (!!), so I can work on every small details, and that's really awesome to have such a power about your own creation...! So, I worked first on the boilers, including smoke, sparks, light, etc... Here is it, click for the HD version. http://www.affectueusement-votre-eco.../r18-forum.jpg What you also have to know is that this picture is full resolution, I mean its size is the same as it will be in the final picture (12000x5625px) - (I hope you understand me, lol) So, the picture of the boiler you see, is the red zone on the final scene : http://www.affectueusement-votre-eco...o/r18-prop.jpg You can imagine how f*****g big is the final picture scene :) See you soon ! |
Well... You have your work cut out for you.
It's about a 12000x5625 pixels sized cut-out. |
Hurray for the particle effects! :)
|
"You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to Varrok again."
Sorry ^^ I don't understand your post Oddey ? |
He's saying you've got a lot of work to do because the scene looks so massive!! It's truly amazing as well.
|
LauricGK, thats great! And what about different views? Can we hope for any crazy camera angles? I want many pics of trains. You have such big hi poly 3d model, and I think that you can open great potential from it. ))
|
Ok thank you Scrab' ;) Yes it's kind of huge work but the most complicated is done...Now is coming the funny part !
Thanks Versus, I'm actually thinking about different views indeed, why not....Wait & see !! |
Some statistics ;
My folder named "Oddworld : Feeco Depot WIP" with every files (.psd, .jpg, .c4d, etc...) in it, is 3,6Go The final photoshop file alone is 869Mo. It starts to make my computer angry...! |
No, no! Your computer is very happy to store such treasure! )))
|
Keep talking ! ^^
Well. 3D part was not finished. I want to build a cell. I need it. Am I sick ? Let's go :) |
Okay, it's done since 4 days
Can't wait to show you more ! |
Looking forward to it. :)
|
The final picture is almost done (about 90%) but I'm now wondering if it could be a good idea to...
...mod' a game character ? I first thought about the glukkon Aslik, or a flying slig. Not both, the picture would be "too much". Your opinion ? (except: "You f****** crazy, stop adding new stuff everytime, or you'll finish the work in 6 years, moron) |
You mean render a character or add an existing image?
Personally if you plan to render a character (and I'd really love to see you do that, I'm sure others would too), I'd finish your Fee-Co picture/scene first, then work on the character afterwards as a different project. |
Render a character yes !
Actually, the 10% left is about the character I'm talking about ;)) I can't finish the scene before I'm decided to render one or not. The scene would need to be adapted with the character, if I do it. So, let's think about that :) |
