OANST you don't mean recently do you? Because there was an Alf who used Oddworld chat who would greet me..

It was a couple of years ago.

Is that the impression you get from me Dynamithix?

Nah.

Xavier 11-08-2010 01:06 AM

Didn't have the time to check in earlier, but the site is looking better and better, nice work Stew!

Nate 11-08-2010 02:46 AM

Yeah, I agree. It's amazing how much the purple sides create a real Oddworldy feel.

That was more than likely a member here called Alf_shall_rise or something similar.

No relation.

Well, I think that anyone has commented anything about this but, I remember that it used to be a download section on the old Oddworld.com site. You could download some music for the first game and other multimedia content. I would suggest a new download section with free content such as wallpapers (new ones please) music, videos or similar.

Oh look, an intelligent person in this thread, finally!

elemental element 11-08-2010 09:17 PM

I'd say!

Dynamithix 11-08-2010 09:21 PM

Trust me, I don't any expectations for you.

Phylum 11-08-2010 09:46 PM

I think you missed a word out there, Mr. Insult-our-intelligence.

I wouldn't be so hasty...Luke does have special powers.

And also a download section would be nice, like "I Oddworld" said.

Bullet Magnet 11-09-2010 06:33 PM

It needs a virtual thermometer that rises with JAW and Oddworld's progress. Not necessary their progress in development of old or new products, or anything, really. But it should be implied to be such.

If there's one thing this community is deficient in, it's confusion and patient expectation for imminent news.

smeghead25 11-14-2010 12:06 AM

Looks like it's down again :(

Maybe this means news!? *anxious face*

No, because it doesn't need to go down to add to the news page. And even if it were some sort of change, you would get a maintenance message and not an error.

Xavier 11-15-2010 11:01 PM

And it's back up...

I really wonder what made that site crash twice. I thought WordPress would be more reliable than that.

Grandi 11-16-2010 04:46 AM

If their website crashes like that then how about their games?

Wil 11-16-2010 05:02 AM

Their games won't be powered by WordPress or PHP.

Grandi 11-16-2010 05:32 AM

WordPress and PHP are relatively easy to use. If they can't handle even those, it doesn't give me very shiny picture of their skills.

enchilado 11-17-2010 12:07 AM

Because if you have skills you can totally do anything.

I have no skills in php whatsoever, this doesn't mean I can't program in Java or C.

Grandi 11-17-2010 08:38 AM

Remember that we are talking about 'professional' game developer team.

Right. And not a professional marketing company, or web designer.

leocrow 11-17-2010 09:10 AM

"profecional" means that they know more about us than what they are doing. they don't have to know anything about stuff they aren't doing. and i really doubt that the game programmers had anything to do with building the site.
Furthermore, i am great at using pcs or solving all kinds of problems. and part of my work is to do just that. However, i have very little idea how to use a mac. By your way of thinking, i should be great at using windows and macos because if i'm not good at one of them, i can't be good at either

MojoMan220 11-17-2010 09:15 AM

I have a suggestion:

It would be cool if the site had a diary of sorts that let fans in on the development of Stranger's Wrath for the PS3.

Duuuuude

You should use Linux

Right. And not a professional marketing company, or web designer.

So you suggest it doesn't matter how poorly their official website works? They should have decent web developer in their team. That site is meant to represent them.

No. I'm suggesting that you could be less of a cocksucker about it.

Grandi 11-17-2010 12:01 PM

Just being little pessimistic.

OANST 11-17-2010 12:18 PM

The appropriate response to my post is "You're one to talk", or something similar.

Yeah, that's right! You tell him... oh wait, I mean... tell yourself?

Have you ever thought about writing a book about dealing with internet trolls? You're obviously better at effectively "pwning" yourself than any of us peons ever will be.

I'd buy that.

You would think the site would be better built. But they're a small team right, so I can understand if the site sometimes stuffs up because they're primarily a game developer team, probably with less experience at web design. I don't really care as long as the Oddworld games turn out good :D If the site has a few minor technical issues, who cares?

You doubt incorrectly. The website was developed by Stewart Gilray and his team at JAW.

Yep, or at least link to the existing ones over here:

Asmoden 11-18-2010 12:11 PM

I would like to see a little daiary updated daily with minor comments about the work progress; maybe not something really important, some funny comments will be more than enought.

Nate 11-18-2010 05:35 PM

I would prefer that they work on the game rather than spend time thinking about what to tell the fans.

The kind of thing i'm suggesting would take about 10 seconds for day and keep the fans motivated.
I need daily odd updates:fuzvamp:

So you essentially want a JAW twitter account?

Try these:
