Havoc 01-13-2010 07:49 AM

I have the leather limited edition. Dunno what number, it's still in a box from moving house a while back.

brechtos 01-16-2010 12:27 AM

I have the hardback, the leather limited edition was a bit above my budget :(
One of the best art books I ever have seen btw!!

Takoto 01-20-2010 03:16 PM

I haven't got it, but damn, I really, really should invest some money into it... if I can find it online.

Xavier 01-21-2010 02:36 AM

There you go:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Art-Oddworld...4073769&sr=8-4

Takoto 01-21-2010 04:23 PM

£44...? Err... I think I'll ask for it for my birthday or something...

polishzx 01-21-2010 08:31 PM

I picked up the Special Collectors Folio edition. Kind of a funny story about that... I've been wanting to pick up the artbook for years and years, since it first came out. Well, I put it off for so long and happened to stumble upon the oddworld website. There I first learned about the folio edition and also saw that the lowest number available was #24, which happens to be my lucky number! So I snagged it, and I am pretty happy about it. :)

To be honest, it was more than a bit beyond my budget too. I had to jump on it though seeing I have wanted one forever and it was the number I wanted. :D

The book is an amazing art collection and a must for every fan that calls himself a real fan ;) Good call for acting quick and getting the one with your lucky number.

Hazz-JB 01-22-2010 05:51 PM

As nice as the limited and folio editions look, I think I'll get a hardback because it's something I want to read and enjoy, not something I want worry about keeping in mint condition.

Still, it must be pretty cool to know you're 1 in 1000 to own a limited edition or 1 in 100 to own a folio.

Fixed.

Mine arrived this morning and I love it, I've read through as much as my eyes can take for now xD It's great for reference when drawing too.

Nath 01-23-2010 09:10 AM

I read all of mine in one day. And it took me all day lol

Rayrockslots 01-23-2010 01:25 PM

Proud owner of copy 989 Since 2008

Dryadri 01-23-2010 01:36 PM

Ooh la di da xD

I wanted a limited edition, but it's far too expensive for me, does it have any more info/pictures than the hardbacks and soft covers?

Rayrockslots 01-23-2010 01:46 PM

Nope, but you get the "Certificate of Authenticity"

How long have they had this Folio Limited Edition Art book? Only printing 100 for $290.00 USD each? Holy crap! I want one.

But why in hell am I paying $89.15 for shipping aswell?! Unless it's being delivered by mister Lorne Lanning himself, dressed as Abe doing the funny little Abe a go go dance I say that's a little unreasonable.

Paul 01-24-2010 07:52 AM

I've just amazoned it :D Was £47 with P&P but I've paid more for other books that I really needed for Uni so I don't see it as being too expensive :)

I'll take eight!

I wanted one of the special limited editions too, but there's no way in hell I can afford that.

Rayrockslots 02-01-2010 08:35 AM

Where do you guys keep your book? That is of course if you have it and don't just say "The bookshelf"

Grieva 02-01-2010 08:42 AM

Usually between "the art of finding nemo" and "timeline of the planet of the apes", but at the moment I'm using it a lot so it's been on the chair next to my desk for a while :D

Art of Oddworld

Has anyone else got a copy of 'Art of Oddworld - the first ten years'

I received my collectors edition the other day and am loving every page. There are lots of details about OW and the history of the inhabitants.

I got 425 of 1000. Anyone else for roll call.

Dryadri 02-04-2010 12:29 PM

I have one, not a collector's edition but I don't care.

There is actually already a thread about the art book ;)

Grieva 02-04-2010 12:50 PM

come on dry, this threads not been touched in almost 3 days, it's basically dead, its already halfway down the front page! :p

Dryadri 02-04-2010 01:08 PM

Gah, you giver-upper you! Also, your Mud avatar reminds me of Futarama xD Whether that's an insult to you or not I don't know, it wasn't intended to be.

Alsoalso, the collector's edition...I'm quite jealous of the person that got #666

Xavier 02-05-2010 12:51 AM

That would be me.

Dryadri 02-05-2010 07:01 AM

Really?

STM 02-06-2010 02:40 AM

My art books next to my bed yeyy

RayOni 02-06-2010 04:01 AM

No, but I have only PDF a version Art book.:)

Wil 02-06-2010 05:36 AM

Since I move home almost every year, my art book does the same. Last year it stood on my shelf. It started doing the same this year, but I found to my horror that, presumably since it's close to my skylight which is forever condensationy, the pages were starting to warp. I moved it to the inside of my wardrobe before Christmas and thankfully its pages seem to have been restored to their original flatness.

STM 02-06-2010 05:47 AM

=( I have a cardboard case for mine it came with the ballistic publishing box thing

Rayrockslots 02-06-2010 09:53 PM

I wonder if they'll release "The Second Ten Years", it would be very sort...

Fixed.

But they couldn't yet anyway, never mind short, it would incomplete.

Grieva 02-07-2010 04:11 AM

I think they could in 2014, but it would be more of a 'what could have been' thing, it would likely be shorter than the first one but could still contain stranger's wrath, brutal ballad, the oddworld movie and citizen seige, depending on who owns the rights

Xavier 02-07-2010 06:47 AM

Actually I heard they had plans for a second book.

:

Looks like we might be doing another book out of Italy next year. This would be more the fine art version and the works place in a historical context.
