a banned episode of Ren & Stimpy, you'll see why.
George Liquor is great.

Ren & Stimpy is one of the most fucked up cartoons ever. I remember when I saw that for the first time when I was young, the entire thing scared the crap out of me. The episodes made absolutely no sense and the way it was animated was hideous and horrifying.

It's fun to watch now though I still wouldn't let my kid watch it, any educational value it has is of the bad kind :p.

OddjobAbe 06-08-2009 11:25 AM

It was always fun to see Ren try and kill Stimpy. Especially when he attempts to break his neck in bed on the one where Stimpy gets a lot of mail.

Mac Sirloin 06-08-2009 11:50 AM

Wow, I didn't realize it was animated so smoothly.

Anyone remember The Ripping Friends?

OddjobAbe 06-08-2009 11:54 AM

Actually, that reminds me. "Ripping Yarns" with Michael Palin and Terry Jones was also excellent.

Wings of Fire 06-08-2009 12:56 PM

I've finished Serial Experiments Lain and have resurfaced, briefly, into reality =D that was a wonderfully deep and philosophical six and a half hours of my life and I hope NGE (Which I'm watching next) lives up to the hype.

Nate 06-08-2009 05:14 PM

I have been watching far too much of The West Wing. It's starting to infect my dreams.

Did anyone see the uncut version of Sven Hoek? It's on the DVD set and it's obvious why it was cut for Nickelodeon. Stimpy and Sven go into the closet and ... ya know. It's classic. I looked online and nobody has it posted (or its been removed).

OddjobAbe 06-09-2009 06:47 AM

I love that. It's one of the most frequently watched on the DVD over here.

MA 06-09-2009 07:00 AM

i think its on You Tube, but some dunce has named it 'Seven Hoek'. its in 2 parts.

are you referring to the innuendo of his sword-swallowing in the closet? i chuckled.

One old show that flew under the radar that I wish AS would pick up is The Maxx. So ahead of its time, and on MTV of all places. Seriosuly, Youtube it if you haven't seen it. Great story, great animation. I've never read the books, but I'm betting this is one of the best comic book adaptations ever created just by judging the show.

Mac Sirloin 06-09-2009 06:08 PM

More Trailer Park boys.

MA 06-10-2009 06:40 AM

i've never seen Trailer Park Boys before but that first video was fucking hilarious.

Mac Sirloin 06-10-2009 12:37 PM

See if you can track down some of the Seasons.

It's better to get them in order because they always tie into each other.

MA 06-10-2009 12:52 PM

i've already begun to download all the seasons and the movie.
when that bloke caught his coat on the door i couldnt stop laughing.

make sure to post stuff like this in future, i dont want to miss comedy like that.
EDIT: Bubbles is class.

Mac Sirloin 06-10-2009 03:18 PM

Bubbles is easily one of the best character in the show, possibly only topped by Cyrus.

I suggest you watch Seasons 1-3 before you watch the Christmas Special, as it's a prequel and a lot of the jokes require some background information. The movie (The Big Dirty) doesn't canonically fit anywhere in the series, so watch it whenever you like.

There's a TV movie that aired around Christmas '08 called 'Say Good Night to The Bad Guys.' It's not the actual Series closer, as a new movie is in production right now, but make sure to watch it after you've seen Season 7, as it actually does tie in.

MA 06-11-2009 07:07 AM

i like the way they all tie in with each other. i'll make sure to watch them in order, i've watched series' like this before when its better to understand jokes that relate to previous episodes than to watch them in any old order.

Fuzzle King 06-11-2009 10:21 AM

Did anybody see the last ashes to ashes episode? Talk about a dissapointment...

joshkrz 06-11-2009 10:59 AM

Was that supposedly the sequel for Life On Mars? If it was I thought it was all a disappointment.

OANST 06-11-2009 11:01 AM

Holy shit! Is that cat smoking a cigarette? LOL!

joshkrz 06-11-2009 11:21 AM

Lol, I'm guessing that's going everywhere I go yes?

That might be sig material, it would make a good contrast xD

MA 06-11-2009 12:13 PM

HE HAS RETURNED

i'm afraid you have been marked joshkrz.
just sit tight, buckle up and act cool (possibly without the cigarette).

joshkrz 06-11-2009 12:16 PM

With the cigarette :smokin:

OANST 06-11-2009 12:18 PM

I'm ecstatic for you.

Wings of Fire 06-20-2009 01:07 PM

Up to Episode 19 of Neon Genesis Evangelion and it's beginning to become painful to watch, and not because it's bad, because it's so damn depressing :(.

used:) 06-20-2009 06:00 PM

AS finally started airing Moribito again! Huzzah!

I loved that show. I have all the seasons on dvd. Bitches don't know 'bout my Josh Lyman.

joshkrz 06-22-2009 08:59 AM

Anyone heard of "Ideal", with Cartoon Head xD

It's on BBC3.

Mac Sirloin 06-22-2009 10:09 AM

I'm starting The 'new' Doctor Who series off...with season 2.

Allow me to express that I fucking love this show.

OddjobAbe 06-22-2009 10:12 AM

I just wish that they still had the polystyrene props and rickety boxes. They made the original ones. Times change, I suppose.

OANST 06-22-2009 10:13 AM

Allow me to express that you have horrible taste. I mean, really? Doctor Fucking Who?

Thanks for not infracting or banning us, guys. God knows we deserved it.

Macedonia was the final straw, huh? You fucking pansy.

Does anyone here watch Whale Wars? Because it is a very disappointing show.

Wings of Fire 07-07-2009 12:59 PM

Torchwood: Children of Earth is shaping up to be one of the best things on British television for a long while.

OANST 07-07-2009 01:11 PM

Isn't that a Dr. Who spin off?

Wings of Fire 07-07-2009 01:14 PM

Yes, apparently till now it's been pretty appalling.

I wouldn't know, I'm one of the millions of extra ratings they started getting yesterday.

OANST 07-07-2009 01:31 PM

I just looked at a picture of the cast. I don't think I would like this show.

Wings of Fire 07-07-2009 01:32 PM

But but but John Barrowman D:

OANST 07-07-2009 01:35 PM

But but trendy cuntery drips from their faces!

Wings of Fire 07-07-2009 01:39 PM

Like trendy cuntery doesn't drip from the faces of all sci-fi cast members when posing.

Also John Barrowman, he's a pretty cool gay guy.

OddjobAbe 07-07-2009 01:40 PM

Children of the Earth looks silly to me. I haven't seen it yet, but I bet it's written by Russel T. Davies. It sounds like his kind of story.
I cannot watch the new Doctor Whos or their spin-offs. Many are painfully silly. I do, however, love the old ones. They are just humourously silly. All those polystyrene props and rickety Daleks. Oh, how great it all was.

used:) 07-07-2009 01:45 PM

I'm no old-time DW fan, but I find the new series to be riddled with absurd and surreal humor, just on a highly subtle level.
