I just don't like when people praise the actions of our enamies. I am not talking about you I am talking about some people in the world. It pisses me off when I see that. Basically I want to get that clear. In WWII they constantly and still today showed us brutal images of the Nazi Death Camps to keep us in rememberance of that horrific event in history. If it was up to me I would air all of the beheadings, bombings, images of 911 on air to keep us remembering what they did to us and make it clear on who the enamy really is.

Ok Nuclear strike is out of the question granted but we will lose this war so long as we are weak on defense. You can't negotiate with the terrorist. People like Dick Durban whome say that Terrorist camps are like the Nazi Death Camps and so on and so forth are causeing us to lose. Who's praising the actions of our enemy? I can't name a conservative, republican, democrat, or liberal who is doing anything of the sort. There are those who would like to ensure that the people we have obtained are actually a terrorist, and not just an innocent civilian caught in the crossfire. Both the right and the left have their issues, but we're not losing because of a few village idiots. The greatest recruiter of the terrorists has been this war.

I can understand your perspective, but in a way, would that not also be seen as praising the terrorists' actions by constantly showing their sucessful (as in they actually pulled it off; overall, I consider no attack to have ever been sucessful in whole) attacks and such on television?

I haven't been following any sources of info on the camps where the terrorists are kept, so I can't really give a firm opinion on that. I can remember the horrible photographed incidents that were made public quite a while ago, but behavior of the people in charge there is probably strictly supervised now.

Maybe you can't exactly negotiate with the terrorists because, but I think there are other methods that just haven't been tried yet other than pure blow-'em'-up violence, which only leads to more destruction than anything. I think when they give us threats/warnings, we should try to talk with them more and hopefully prevent them from doing it. (Yes, I know how naive I sound.)

But for instance, if you had fallen into the hands of a group of terrorists, and they were threatening to slit your throat unless your country started negotiating, would you not be hoping and praying for Bush to start negotiating his ass off?

Any of you listen to Michael Savage? Well probabally not since he is conservative but anyway he makes a lot of sense when it comes to his logic on the whole war and everything. He maybe conservative but he is definitly not a Rush Lymbaugh. He doesn't support Bush nor does he support the Dem's on these issues. Infact his whole view on everything is more or less independant but he is conservative. He supports the war and the troops in Iraq. He just critisises the governments.

He vents a lot of anger towards the left and the right and thats what makes sense. His radio show is "The Savage Nation." Listen to him one of these times he makes whole lot of sense. The other day I was pissed off on how our leaders handled the situation in London. I mean Tony Blare, George W Bush, all of the leaders were like not true leaders. Where are the Winston Churchills of the world? Where are the true leaders we need to end this war?

FYI, the nuke did not end the second world war - contrary to how you yanks would like to believe it, world war 2 ended on D+90, when British and American forces led by the strategies of Montgomery, and a side helping of military thinking on the part of Patton, successfully occupied Germany and defeated it's forces.

And if you knew what you were talking about, then you'd already be aware that nukes are still used. In fact, the majority of US aerial bombs and missiles carry nuclear warheads. It's just that they're all less than 1 megaton devices. The most powerful nukes that the US use today are around 6-10 megatons. These may sound puny in comparison to the 20-100 megaton devices of the cold war, but actually the smaller bombs are much more efficient - big nukes just eject the majority of their explosive force into space, however if you lay down a carpet of little bombs, you keep almost all the explosive power on the surface.

These types of nukes were used extensively throughout the bombing of taliban HQ in Afgahnistan. But for all of the impressive arsenal of the USA, they're but a limp, impotent penis in the face of modern day terrorism. Terrorists don't fight using conventional warfare, they're totally different, they fight war on a level that the military isn't suited to dealing with - you can't just "nuke them all" because they're not all in one place. The USA attempted nuking their HQs and they never got Osama, Al Quaieda is still very much alive, and attacks are ongoing. This is an enemy that you cannot defeat using standard military tactics and know-how. It's the kind of enemy that requires special agents, undercover ops, intelligence, surveillance, and special forces.

So it is on that basis that I declare Esus' objection to your opinion to be very valid.

It's hard to hold this view with any kind of empathy for long, because anger takes over and you start to get mad at the terrorists... But you gotta admit they're not just doing it for no reason... they're being treated like they've got no real reason to be angered and for some reason we're listening to Blair and agreeing with him. But all their asking for is what we were asking for. Blair and Bush want to see the terrorism end, so why don't they just do what they know will end it? Back down from Iraq, resign from office - it doesn't mean that we can't still defend ourselves, but I for one think that we should stop screwing with the middle east and start playing fair.
