See, my thinking is this:
I love to eat meat, but animals get killed to MAKE the meat. If I could stop the killing by being a vegetarian, I would become a vegetarian. But if I become a vegetarian, not only would I not be able to eat meat, but animals would still be killed and would suffer, so there's no point in me suffering as well. How I feel about stopping animal killing by becoming a vegetarian: I would if I could, but I can't so I won't. |
I was forced to eat meat once in primary school. After telling my parents as soon as I got home, the school got told off, and that was only then that they belived I was a vegitarian. Stupid school.

one of the reasons i'm vegitarian is the difference between pets and food...would you take your pet dog to Korea? or your pet hourse to Portugal? P.S. i saw this program about vampires (not the type that turn to dust in sunlight), and one of them said the blood of vegitarians tasted better...us Vs are valued... |

I remember the discussion about vegetarianism back at the old EZboard. I was surprised that there were plenty of others, I guess Oddworld attracts that kind of crowd. I've been a veg for quite a while now, and I feel healthy. I just don't want to contribute to an industry that thrives on the maming of living beings, and the taste of their flesh turns me right off. :

dont attack pinkhaired. you can learn something and not belive in it. by religion, i dont believe in evolution even though i answer questions on tests about the evolutionary process. because she gets good grades in biology doesnt mean she has to believe what she was taught. it is wrong to attack peoples beliefs and say they are stupid for what they believe in. and some people may call me stupid for not believing in evolution but that is their problem.

You may not believe in evolution, but that is something that needs evidence to prove correct. Humans are animals by definition, which needs no evidence to prove because there is nothing to prove. Someone defined animals, and humans fit that definition. Evolution, however, is one of those things that IS kind of like the people-thought-the-world-was-flat kind of thing. Daniel, your like 9 or 10 years old. Humans are classified as animals but are not animals for alot of reasons. Your not making any sense by saying that we are dominant and talk and stuff. What about Parrots? Or Gorillas? It did not say in the bible that we are animals it just said that we were man. it did'nt say the dominant animal God created wass humans. He called Animals Animals and humans humans, so I believe it's still not proven that humans are animals. I can gice you reasons why animals and humans are not alike.

hey daniel, its ok that you believe in evolution. but i dont because: where did the animals come from? answer=amoeba where did the amoeba come from? from there we have to revert back to the big bang thoery. but where did the gases for the big bang theory come from? answer=? that is mainly why i dont believe in evolution. so evolution hasnt quite been proven. unless im like way behind the times and stuff. but if anyone has better proof that evolution is real, id like to see it.

I can't really say anymore on the "Humans are Animals" debate. I think we've established a good argument, and the very definition of animal proves that humans are indeed animals.
To understand that humans are animals, we need to know the definition of animal. An animal is defined as: A multicellular organism of the kingdom Animalia, differing from plants in certain typical characteristics such as capacity for locomotion, nonphotosynthetic metabolism, pronounced response to stimuli, restricted growth, and fixed bodily structure. Do humans fit this criteria? Let's see. Multicellular: Yes. Capacity for locomotion: Yes. Nonphotosynthetic metabolism: Yes. Pronounced response to stimuli: Yes. Restricted growth: Yes. Fixed bodily structure: Yes. So by our very definition, we are animals. It doesn't need to be proven because it is already an established fact. Does it need to be proven that the sky is blue? Maybe to a blind person, which is impossible. Just like in this argument, you can not prove that humans are animals to those who are blind to the facts. |
who said God named the animals? arent we the ones who named gorillas gorillas? arent we the ones that named lions lions? when God created animals he set them apart from us because God created man in His own image. god wasnt the one that named the animals. WE did. He created us to be different from the animals.

On the other note, I apologize Daniel, I thought you were like 9 or 10. But Joe proved my point exactly. God did not call man an animal. Only man did. Even though Adam named every animal. It states in Genesis 1:27So God created man in his own image. In the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.So we look like God alittle. God said that animals were only this earth for our special needs. It also said in the bible that animals cannot sin, reason, nor do they have souls so God made us way different than animals. :) On evolution, Joe did hit the nail what I was thinking. How did all of the evidence get here? If we evolve from monkeys, would the monkeys today be human? Where did the particles come from, from the Big Bang theory? :confused:.it just sounds so irrelevant. And in the bible channel, they found a skeleton bone, OLDER than a dino bone by using carbon-14 radioactive dating. And the skeleton did not look likr a neanderthol one, it looked like a skull like ours. |
