Gentlemen, gentlemen I think we can all agree that french fries and hamburgers are truly the king of all foods.
Carbonara sounds like the kind of Spaghetti a mechanic working in a body shop would come up with to impress his kids, when it's just undercooked noodles molded to look like a truck. |

There sure is tomato sauce in that pizza.
|
How about a pizza WITH french fries and hamburger? I've tried one and it was surprisingly good.
|
That pizza would be perfect if it had more cheese, no pepperoni, barbeque sauce instead of tomato sauce and completely different toppings altogether.
Well no, the pepperoni is the main thing. |

http://www.bedintrastevere.com/images/suppli.jpg My dad (Ambrogio, now that's an Italian name) makes them and they're fucking amazing. Picture it: Boiled rice mixed with bolognese, roll it up into a ball and have a chunk of mozzarella in the middle, roll that in breadcrumbs and deep fat fry it. Oh my goooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooood. |
That indeed sounds tasty.
|
I once made the mistake of ordering a pizza with barbecue sauce instead of tomato. Ruined a perfectly good evening.
|
I used to prefer pizzas with barbeque sauce and I'm ashamed to this day.
|
I had a chicken pizza with barbecue sauce on Monday. It certainly spoiled my mood.

Tomato sauce is a very broad spectrum. I hate the bottled supermarket crap, including Beerenburg products which apparently makes me a disgrace to my family. A good pasta/pizza sauce with a tomato base is very different to most things that you get in a jar or mainstream restaurant chain. Go to a nice Italian restaurant and order puttanseca some time.
Puttanesca is my favourite pasta dish and I'm going to strive to eat is somewhere when I'm in Italy. Have I mentioned that I'll be in Europe again at the end of the year anywhere yet? |

Supposedly. |

I have an aversion to bell peppers too, though that has more to do with the fact that it was in practically every dish I ate growing up and I'm just so sick of the taste. |
I can't eat raw tomato, or capsicum without getting an upset stomach. I'm fine with chillies and tomatoes cooked in sauces, which bothers my dad to no end. "You can eat chillies and tomatoes in things so you can eat capsicums!", he tells me often, usually when craving the capsicums that my mum and I refuse to cook.
The superfluous comma is there to separate the raw associated with tomato from the capsicum. I cant' think of a better way to show that |
I don't like raw tomatos, but I'm fine with them cooked. I think it's because of the acidity of the raw tomato's juice.
|
Today I made veggie dumplings (seen here before being cooked) and peach-and-cardamom jam.

Two of our friends got married last Saturday, and had gotten some really awesome cupcakes for the reception. Chocolate and peanut butter, and strawberry cheesecake.
We'd grabbed one of each before leaving for the night because oh god they are so good. These have been in the fridge for a bit but they're still amazing. |
Went to a Chinese all-you-can-eat restaurant on Sunday and had duck with pancakes, crispy seaweed, pork with satay sauce and chicken chow mein. It was delicious. :) I expected the seaweed to be salty but it was atually quite sweet.

Currently eating some kind of... strudel.
With black berries. |
I like strudel. Filo is the best pastry.
