That's actually not wrong. The goat's head in the world of the Occult is a very highly meaningful image. The icon of the inverted pentagram;

http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_Jl3ytlG8Wx...0/baphomet.png

represents Satan, aka the god "Lucifer" from the ancient Roman Pagan tradition translates quite literally to the "Bearer of Light". "Lucifer" is generally considered the savior to Pagans for the 'spiritual light' he brought to mankind in the form of knowledge of his origins and knowledge of Occult Magic (in some opinions, a foolish decision as this knowledge has as much possibility to be abused for negative, selfish purposes as it does benevolent, thus the "God" Lucifer is considered the Devil in Christian tradition)

The point is, that Occult magic is well-known and practiced all throughout the world, especially in business, through forms of highly-symbolic logos and insignias which are felt to have magickal power.

The goats head, as shown above, in the direction it is pointing (downward) is considered as 'submissive' or 'feminine' position in Occult magick. Pointing upward, aka the 'Delta' position, is represents power and the masculine. And indeed, it is well known in occult circles that the triangle in the downward position in fact reflects the woman's womb.

I would delight in writing a whole article about occult meanings in commercial symbolism, but even confined the the automotive industry would be several pages.

The problem with that is that every country has their fair share of this shit. I don't judge British culture based on The Daily Mail or Big Brother.

Please do. They're sufficiently popular to be an embarrassment.

JennyGenesis 05-25-2011 12:17 AM

Yes. We like to spend all of our time sat in pubs drinking lager and eating fish and chips whilst riding around in black taxis and red double decker buses.

And started.

STM 05-25-2011 11:46 PM

And America carried on into the late 1800s.

Any way ignore that, I was just purposefully trying to be a dick, I'll remove those bits if you like.

People from England are snobs with horrible teeth.

That one's true though.

Bhutan has a cool flag, though the dragon does appear to be grasping several disembodied breasts.

Fuck yeah. Texas: home of retarded highway systems, top tier hispanic food and simultaneous jackassery/hospitality.

Ironically, I'd aimlessly made a bracelet of that exact color scheme about two weeks before I ever learned of the term "pansexual." I make a lot of bracelets (very nice looking ones for the record), but rarely without some sort of intended symbolism. Funny coincidence #174 of my life.

Also also: Fuck yeah @ the Team America theme. One of the greatest musical accomplishments of this generation. It's an overflow of win.

England, obviously.

Been a while since I've seen the Staffordshire Knot.

i talk about it quite a lot with my grandfather. don't know why, just a point of interest for us.

and just to be an irritating, pedantic bastard: it's actually Stafford knot, not Staffordshire. although i only found that out myself a couple years back.

Wings of Fire 06-01-2011 07:17 PM

Ah, well I might as well say that off term time I live in the West Midlands, Staffordshire etc etc

Stafford.

It's about twenty miles from where MA lives, I used to commute to his town for school until I outgrew the need for help.
