WACHACHA, POCKET SAND!

Do preteens count as kids? Because I'm currently in the process of acquiring Teen Titans in its entirety.

OANST 01-19-2011 02:12 PM

I love Adventure Time.

Usual fare for me, cartoon network shows like EEnE, Courage, and Dexter's lab.

What I find interesting is that when I find myself watching the old cartoons I used to, I would probably be more entertained by them than when I was a kid. Not to say I didn't like them, but just looking back at Jimmy's dream from last page I was just giggling like a buffoon like a whole time. As a kid I probably would have kept a straight face. Maybe it's because I realize how absurd everything else, like ballerina robots in Dexter's Lab or a smug as hell computer in Courage.

That computer owns

Trawling even my most distant memories, I loved Ed, Ed 'n' Eddy, Dexter's Laboratory, Monster Rancher, Teen Titans, X-Men Evolution, Tom and Jerry, Looney Tunes, Digimon Adventures, Duck Tales, Darkwing Duck, Goof Troop, Tale Spin, Marsupilami, Tailspin, Winnie the Pooh, Spider-Man TAS, Jackie Chan Adventures, Aladdin, Timon and Pumbaa, Sam and Max, Bonkers, Sharky and George, Osmosis Jones, Pinky and the Brain, Animaniacs, Freakazoid, Earthworm Jim, Extreme Ghostbusters, Godzilla: The Series, Men in Black: The Series, Bucky O'Hare, Mighty Max, Biker Mice from Mars, Street Sharks, The Moomins, The Clangers, Gargoyles, Alvin and the Chipmunks and, wow, does anybody remember The Racoons? I can't remember too well but I might have watched Toxic Crusaders and Mummies Alive too.

Does anyone remember What a Cartoon!? It was a platform for pilots, which gave us the likes of Dexter's Laboratory, The Power Puff Girls Johnny Bravo, Cow and Chicken, I Am Weasel and Courage the Cowardly Dog. Here's one that didn't make it.

Those voice actors are literally Peter and Brian from family guy with their respective character stereotypes

Wings of Fire 01-19-2011 05:08 PM

Why do I remember that

Emesdee 01-19-2011 08:15 PM

By the time Family Guy came on, I totally forgot about them. Yet rewatching that, I remember it so clearly now.

MeechMunchie 01-19-2011 10:42 PM

Jackie Chan Adventures was good.

That voice actor. Both are Seth McFarlane. The voices and designs are identical to those of an old student film he made.

Which makes me wonder if he's come up with anything new in the however-many years he's been working in the television industry.

Men in Black.

Given how long he's had that idea, tried to do it and has been doing it, I'd say that's pretty standard for the industry. Getting a pet project out there can take as long as breaking into the industry in the first place.

He was one of the writers and animators for Johnny Bravo, Cow and Chicken and Dexter's Laboratory before he made Family Guy. He did pretty well, for a while he was the youngest executive producer in American television.

I love this cartoon!

Jordan 01-20-2011 12:12 PM

Pretty much all of the Cartoon Cartoons from Cartoon Network, it pains me that these are no longer shown! Also watched cool shit like Samurai Jack, Pokémon, Digimon and DragonBall Z. Gah, I love to reminisce!

Alf Shall Rise 01-23-2011 07:55 AM

My favorite cartoons were most of the Cartoon Network cartoons as well, especially Courage the Cowardly Dog, Ed, Edd n Eddy, and Johnny Bravo.

Dixanadu 01-24-2011 02:33 PM

Even after not watching it for so many years, I can still remember the Dexter's Lab intro song word for word.

MeechMunchie 01-25-2011 05:08 AM

I'm like that with Pinky and The Brain.

And the pilot has Quagmire's voice.

I remember that cartoon too. Every now and then it came by and I always wondered why there was just one episode.
