No, well, yes, but It killed three trainers. You think they would learn after at least the second one! But NOOOOOO THEY'RE JUST GONNA KEEP KILLING PEOPLE SO THEY CAN BUY THEIR HUGE MANSIONS WITH POOLS AND FLAT SCREENS!

Two trainers (the first at a time when he'd never had a human in the water with him before and thus hadn't been trained to keep distance) and one intruder who broke in the Sea World whilst drunk and drowned in the water tank.

I imagine they're going to be much more careful with him in the future, but that doesn't mean they need to retire him completely.

@Mollucks assistant- I ment the seaworld people having flatscreens. Not the whales.
@Strike Witch - What about my Icon? It's the only thing I could find that suited me.
@Nate- I agree with you there, That they need to watch out to see if the whale is having a bad day and just not doing a show on those days. And they need more expreienced trainers.

Look, the bloody dolphin probably just had a hangover or something.

watching too much of his flat-screen TV.

It's an animal in an unnatural environment. Weird things will happen. I'm sure the trainer knew the risks. Next discussion.

A FRENCH woman accused of strangling or smothering to death her six newborn babies has admitted killing the infants.

Celine Lesage, 38, admitted before a judge in the Channel town of Coutances to killing the six infants between 1999 and 2007.

"I admit to the charges," Ms Lesage said on the first day of her trial.

Asked whether the babies were alive when she murdered them, Ms Lesage hesitated and said "I cannot answer" before finally adding, "Yes."

Ms Lesage, who has a teenage son, is accused of first degree murder and faces a life jail sentence if convicted, with no possibility of parole for 18 years.

She was arrested in October 2007 after her partner and father of one of the murdered babies discovered decomposing infant bodies stuffed in garbage bags in the basement of their apartment building.

The man, Luc Margueritte, called police after making the horrific discovery and is now a civil plaintiff in the case.

Investigators have described Ms Lesage as a shy woman with no apparent mental problems who claimed she lived in fear of her ex-partner and father to five of the murdered babies, accusing him of being violent.

But the investigation did not find that her ex-partner, 39-year-old plumber Pascal Catherine, had a "domineering attitude", according to court documents.

Mr Catherine was charged in connection with the case in 2007 but he was cleared of any wrongdoing and is to testify at Ms Lesage's trial. A verdict is due on March 18.

Last June, French woman Veronique Courjault was sentenced to eight years in jail after admitting to killing three of her own babies, burning one corpse and hiding the others in the family freezer.

I love how the first French is in capitals as if emphasised, and how she was asked whether the babies were alive or not when she murdered them... uuuh!

Wait, wut?

Gwan-Thwei 03-15-2010 06:09 PM

Erm... have you read any other articles on news.com.au? They always capitalise the first full word of the article ('A' doesn't count).

@Strike Witch - What about my Icon? It's the only thing I could find that suited me.

It's really totally meaningless.

enchilado 03-15-2010 11:37 PM

@Nate (can't be stuffed to use quotes): I know that, I just think it looks like it's emphasising it. "Oh my God she's FRENCH!"

enchilado 03-16-2010 05:51 PM

I think it's funny how her husband never wondered where the babies went.

DarkHoodness 03-16-2010 08:30 PM

Hey, I've got a good one. :D (Even if it's been in circulation for a while)

What's worse than a dog eating your shoe?

. . . :)

A whale eating your trainer. :P

Haha, okay sorry, that was terrible taste. (But then forcing wild animals to perform is a very bad joke anyway).

@Emesdee- Your photo didn't come up.
@DarkHoodness- No, that joke's actually pretty funny.
