No one started Auld Land Syne? Motherfuckers. At least the fireworks themselves must have been better than in the 2007 countdown to '08. I could have done a better job in my back yard with catherine wheels and a couple of Roman candles.

I was singing Auld Land Syne in a merry haze, i find it pretty hard to imagine noone singing it on new years eve.

Very good, the actual events organising was worse than before, nothing was projected on the Shell building other than the countdown, even worse music, and no one started auld lang syne. >(

They projected coloured shapes and whatnot on the Shell building before the countdown and after the fireworks. I liked the music and everyone around me was singing Auld Lang Syne, quite loudly too. I think you may have been in some sort of alternate reality London.

Yeah, but last year they projected videos, and Auld Lang Syne definitely wasn't sung on Westminster bridge.

Which I have to add, is by far the best place to see the fireworks, perfect view of the entire river

I've never sung Auld Lang Syne at New Years or ever. I've never heard anyone sing it at New Years. I don't know any of the words.

I did play it on the trombone at one New Years, though. Awkwardly.

I don't know the words to Auld Lang Syne, but I was attempting to sing along with my mother and a friend of hers (yeah, I was at home for New Years. So what?).

I used to like the adverts where he was in the back of the car going through the car wash. It wasn't just "Oh, yes!" then. It was "Oh, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes!" and "Oh, no, no, no, no, no, no!"

Wil 01-07-2010 08:43 AM
