Checked back to see how you were coming along and it's still damned amazing. Keep it up.

Tidus 11-16-2008 01:57 PM

Thanks for the comments. In this night I have do some work on the legs. Now I see it with more details I see the legs have to be more heavy.

yeah, the legs do look pretty good :) , but I think the wrinkle (?) under the kneecap is a bit too outstanding :p

GlacierDragon 11-20-2008 12:42 PM

I agree with scipionyx. Also, now I think about it, the legs seem a bit small.

Tidus 11-23-2008 10:44 AM

Oh, then they are wrinkles. I made them like that because I thought they were a bone :)

Ok, I'll make them more long :D

Thanks :p

Buzzy 11-24-2008 10:44 PM

Wow! you are getting VERY good mate!

Tidus 11-25-2008 10:51 AM

Thanks Buzzy!!

I have edited the legs, I made them larger, and I put a skin effect to the wrinkles. I think it looks more accurate with larger legs.

Yeah, I can tell you some tips. But I'm not an expert on this.

It's true that is easy to do something in Zbrush, don't listen to people who says it's the most difficult thing to learn, or something like that. The same for 3D Max. I didn't know how to make a canion, and after reading very long tutorials, I learnt and understood the program, but I wasn't been able to do anything.
Then I read the most useful tutorial I've ever read, and I made my first model.

I readed advanced tutorials about 3D Max and Zbrush, and here I am.
If you want to know something, I didn't buy a 3D Max book, most of the people say it's necessary to buy one, but I learnt the program without paying 50 bucks for a book that helps you at the beggining.

One tip that helped me was that the easiest way to do models is by Box Extrude in Edit Poly mode, and then adding a turbosmooth to it.

When you put a model from 3D Max to Zbrush, don't start sculpting veins, or the wrinkles in the legs. Start by redefining the shape, the muscles, then, when you're in a subdivision level and you can't do anything more on it, go to a higher level, and sculpt more things. You must go from the higher things to the smaller things.

That was a mistake I made with the Paramite.

Thank you all!

I have edited the legs (muscles) and there's a close up, and well I didn't edit the mouth but I wanted to share a close up:

Wow. The legs look much better now, and good work on the skin effects.

Ollyabe 11-26-2008 10:29 PM

Wow! Getting better everyday! Good work!

Tidus 11-27-2008 08:21 AM

Thank you, wow, this post is coming too long. Is it boring for you? If it's boring I'll post the finished screens when they're done instead of posting wip images :)

I remember I had a diffuse layer, I have edited the mouth, I have made that veins (sorry for pixelation) and I have made some details in the torso. I'll made the back tomorrow if I have time. Now I'm seeing it, I must check some colors on the diffuse.

scipionyx 11-27-2008 12:21 PM

no it's more interrresting to see how it evolves than just waiting eons for it and then commenting quickly and forgetting about it in a second again...

I like how you made the details especially the ribs and those things on the sides of it's head and the legs :D

OddYouko 11-27-2008 05:58 PM

Yeah I like the ribs too! =D I'm waiting for it to just start dancing!
The color looks really nice aswell. Keep it up!
Looks really cool. :D

Tidus 11-28-2008 06:39 AM

Nice ^^ Thanks :D So I'm going to share you images of my project.. I think it's going good. I have made some upgrades on the mouth, as you can see, and I have made the back, but I think the details there are too outstanding.

http://img509.imageshack.us/img509/4250/scrabxt8.jpg

I think I'm near to the finish, and I'm planning to put it on Crysis and take some photos, to see how the diffuse and normal are going.

Ollyabe 11-28-2008 08:33 PM
