Wow...I love to look at these videos and pictures! I can't wait for spore, I am getting it on my DS as my pc doesn't have the requirements, I have to wait until september.
If you get it for DS, it's not going to be anything like the PC game.
I know that! But at least I can play it......I am going to get a better pc soon though. Hopefully
Yeah, the DS one is a sorta Mode-7-esque 2.5D dealy.
Yes.
OT: Ghost goddammit i dont wann to look at any anime at all and your avatar makes my bum hurt. I saw an anime that... scared me. |

COMING FOR YOUUUU, VA! |
I hardly heared about it, and want to know more. How is Spore exactly?
EA marketing insists it's evolution, which is far from the truth. However, it does draw inspiration from a number of scientific concepts that the public do not often get t play with.
It's a playground, sandbox universe with optional goals and mission structure, especially early on. Played from beginning to end, you guide a species through its evolution from a single-celled organism, to macroscopic creature, to sentient being. From there it's tribal, civilisation and finally space exploration. Significantly, you design most of the game's assets. There are editors for creatures, vehicles, spacecraft, buildings and more. As you play through the game you progressively gain access to more (and lose access to others for a while), modifying your creature every generation, designing you city's buildings and vehicles, crafting your space ship and manually bootstrapping worlds to your requirements. Also, your designs are uploaded to the Spore servers and downloading into other people's games automatically to populate their ecosystem and universe with whatever is required. It's still single player, but you interact with other people's civilisations (and can destroy them without ruining the creator's game). That's Spore in a nutshell. It's out this September, but the Creature Creator is out now. |
Thanks for that, it seems to be a perfect suiting game for me. I just gave the Creature Creator a try, and it's pretthy sweet.
OK, just read up on this and watched the videos and....I NEED THIS GAME.
I'll probably wait until the full release now rather than get the Creature Creator, althuogh I fear I may not have sufficient PC requirements. For instance, the creature images on the Sporepedia don't display. As my PC's 4 years old, I'll probably need a new one to play it. Suits me though, as I need a laptop anyway. |
The images on Sporepedia are png files, which are not compatible with the steaming pile of shit that is Internet Explorer.
I use BT Yahoo Internet, and can open PNG attachments or whatever with it....
Then they're just not loading properly. They're normal PNGs, but with embedded code, apparently a normal function of PNGs.
PC gamer gave spore 91% :tard:
They're the only reviewers I know so far who actually played the game properly (ie, 50+ hours).
Did they say anything about the game we don't know already?
Yay!! I should be getting spore soon!! Good news for me, and on my pc!! YAY, though only the starter kit thingy, you should see some more freaky creatures being uploaded by me! Yay
Read it yourself.
In related news, a friend of mine from Sporeum attended Spore Community Day at Maxis and played the game himself. |
Gah! I was going to leave it a few months until the buzz went down and the game became cheaper. Now I'm all excited and I'm going to have to buy it on day one.
I'll be waiting months to get a good computer.
Can somebody tell me the system requirements? That way I know whether I can play it on my current machine and if not, what laptop to get (I'm getting a laptop anyway for college and want a good one regardless, Spore's just a nice add-on)
EDIT: The review is enough to sell me on it already, and I've only just read page 1. Giant chairs fighting tribes of senior citizens in organic wheelchairs? Yes please. |
Here you go! 2.0 GHz P4 prosesor or equivilent for windows XP and vista, Ram (Xp) 512 MB or higher (Vista) 768 MB Ram, hard drive at least 190 MB for installastion, plus additional space for created creatures, 128 MB video card! Hope that helps! Anyway while your waiting you can look at my floppy legs on youtube (It's okay, it's only a creature)

That's for the CC, you need more hard drive space for the full game.
Oops...sorry, I forgot to state that!
Well, I've over 82 GB hard drive space on my current PC, so I'm fine there (Local Disc C is Hard Drive, right? I'm not good with the technical names and stuff).
i don't know how to check RAM space, or what processor or graphics card I have. Also, my PC's so old that I don't remember and wouldn't know where to look for the leaflets or what-have-you. Any idea how I can find out my system specs? EDIT EDIT: Found my processor details. It's 2.09 GHz, 512 MB RAM, and I run XP so I just meet the requirements. Need to find out about my graphics card though. |
great creature ollyabe and about the system requirements , pixel shader is recommended but u can still play the game without it.
i hate the idea of making pixel shaders on chip cards only. |
