I think that Lungbuster was the more expensive kind, like what Molluck smoked.
And I don't ever remember hearing an refrences to tobacco, or a factory for it.
I guess we are all habing problems with the nicotine products today.

No, it was "Sweet Spice Stoggies" or something like that. Something with the word "Stoggies" in it.

why do they refer to the stockyards as "The Free-Fire Zone" in the booklet of AO?

The Stockyards are the yards surrounding RuptureFarms in which livestock is kept. In the game, this area has a cloudy, yellow‐green sky. The Free‐Fire Zone is an extended area of security where Sligs are free to fire upon Mudokons without the normal repercussions, becuase those Mudokons are obviously either slaves trying to escape, or natives trying to infiltrate the factory.

And yep, Molluck’s prefered brand of cigar is Surprisingly Swisher Sweets.

Well I remembered two of the words in the name, THAT COUNTS FOR SOMETHING!

Bullet Magnet 02-14-2007 09:36 AM

Of course it does, used:)

I want to know, just how close is Rupture Farms 1029 to Monsaic Lines ignoring the very suspect map- sorry Max)? Or does it just happen to be built upon the same lichen stained rock as those caves and the Paramonian Temple?

Wil 02-14-2007 01:42 PM

I like to think the entrance to Monsaic Lines is literally just beyond the Free‐Fire Zone, as seen in Abe’s Oddysee. It makes for some literal juxtapositioning of industry and natality, and implies an unseen relationship between the two locations: Sligs and Shamans protective their respective lands from attack by each other.

Compared to the distance between Monsaic Lines and Necrum, the map would seem to suggest there’re a few days’ travel between RF and ML. Bah. That’s only because OWI kept moving ML and Necrum closer together to make Oddworld bigger, instead of making Mudos smaller.

But yeah, unending kudos to Rob Brown. :p

Okay... this question has always been bugging me... I've thought I've had the right answer for it, but for some reason it haunts me. Like a dumber younger cousin whom lives with you...

The Magog Cartel is another continent right? Or is it something completely different?

Wil 02-14-2007 04:20 PM

It’s the Glukkons’ industrial family, the Glukkon equivalent of the Vykkers Conglomerate. I guess it’s like an umbrella corporation: all the companies we’ve seen, like RuptureFarms, Splinterz, Magog Motors, are part of the Magog Cartel, which is ultimately headed by Lady Margaret.

And we don’t know how the Uguay Estate/Uguaya State fits into that.

Does this mean that you must have had the first info about this through video or audio?

Wil 02-16-2007 10:29 AM

Yes, the only mention of it is in the extra M.O.M. videos on the Movies of Oddworld DVD.

Bullet Magnet 02-16-2007 10:46 AM

Seriously, where do you get those?

Cullen Heath 02-16-2007 10:49 AM

If you preordered Stranger's Wrath.

Wil 02-16-2007 10:50 AM

Or if you spent a lot of time on eBay around the time of SW’s launch.

Slaveless 02-16-2007 01:54 PM

I have another question. You know the barrels of products that seem to be stockpiled across the screens in Rupture Farms and SoulStorm Brewery? I have a question about them. Why aren't they on a conveyor belt, being brought onto a train to be sold to Khanzumers?

Arxryl 02-16-2007 01:59 PM

Well, I don't have an official reason, but perhaps, they don't transport the barrels and boxes to Khanzumers that way, or maybe they are just waiting to be sent on the conveyer belts, or waiting to be ordered.

Or perhaps that's just to -Up- the scenery and make it more... interesting.

Well, try to fully comprehend the gigantic numbers of barrels that need to be shipped away. They may have many lines taking the barrels away, however, as you only see a limited portion of the plants. Another possibility is that they switch back and forth from distributing a lot to a little to keep supply and demand in their favor.

Q. why did the brewmaster stay at brewry when it blew up?

snuzi 02-16-2007 08:43 PM

I think that he was either in shock of what had happened, or wanted to be like a captain who goes down with his ship. Or in this case, blows up with his factory :p.

Cullen Heath 02-16-2007 08:43 PM

A. Because he knew that he wouldn't be able to escape.

Wil 02-16-2007 09:37 PM

A2: Because he didn’t want to go the way of Molluck, persecuted for allowing the factory’s destruction to happen.

Bullet Magnet 02-17-2007 10:12 AM

How many people did escape? Only the mudokons, who had bird portals. When you have mere seconds to go, and you're standing next the the boilers themselves, I don't know what circumstances could have possibly enabled his escape.

moxco 02-17-2007 10:24 AM

what about that crawling slig, I think he died.

Arxryl 02-17-2007 10:27 AM

Yes, I am pretty sure that the slig died. He only had a few seconds to get out of the brewery anyways, so I doubt he made it...

Jordan 02-17-2007 11:13 AM

Who knows, maybe that crawling Slig survived, and he may feature in a Sligstorm? :p Nah, but I've always wondered why they showed it trying to escape.

snuzi 02-17-2007 01:57 PM

Well, perhaps he didn't want to die in a firey explosion? :p

Bullet Magnet 02-17-2007 02:45 PM

They hadn't done a crawling slig in an FMV yet, perhaps the model was just lying around unused since the render published in the manual, but mostly it's a gag.

Slaveless 02-18-2007 04:36 PM

Or, when the factory was about to blow, all of the Sligs were scared into a puddle of puss. All of the Sligs didn't want to die, so they probably thought that had a few minutes to quickly hide to get a less fatal result. The crawling Slig is obviousily one who figured that one out and needed to get into some pants as fast as possible, so he can get to a better ground. And a crawling Sligs panicing is funnier than a walking Slig!

moxco 02-19-2007 10:00 AM

Q. Did sam go down with vykkers labs?

Wil 02-19-2007 10:17 AM

No, she’s in a different Vykkers Labs facility.

Slaveless 02-19-2007 10:35 AM

Here's another one. Is the Scrabanian Desert really a desert, or merely a dry mountain range?
