"Rings Around the World" by Super Furry Animals has been stuck in my head for like....2 hours
O.o

Statikk HDM 01-16-2007 08:16 AM

That new Inspectah Deck album kicks ass.
Hey lets start the last album you got again!
Me first...
Spawn of Possession:Noctambulant

Fez 01-16-2007 11:59 AM

Erm, Eels - Electro Shock Blues and Futureheads - News & Tributes.

Both very good albums.

Leto 01-16-2007 02:22 PM

What a ****ing cheapskate.

Last CD/DVD I got was John Butler Trio live at somewhere in Sydney. Unsurprisingly good performance of Ocean.

I told you to get that Eels album. Pretty great, isn't it?

Rich 01-16-2007 02:32 PM

My band are doing an acoustic session for our local BBC radio soon. That's musically related yeah?

I'm loving Primal Scream atm.. Indie dance ftw. Screamadelica yeah Fez. :)

Fez 01-16-2007 02:33 PM

T'is an album I live by. Got the shirt etc :P

And yeah I love ESB. Not as depressing as I had hoped though :P

Arxryl 01-16-2007 02:49 PM

I have just recently heard the song "The Ultimate Showdown of Ultimate Destiny." A friend showed a music video of it to me.

YAY EELS! It's sad, they're my favorite band, yet I don't have all their albums. As a matter of fact, I only have 3: Souljacker, Shootenanny, and Blinking Lights.

Could you maybe describe the sound of ESB as opposed to those albums? I'd love to know.

Fez 01-17-2007 06:58 AM

Cold.

I think Beautiful Freak is their best album.

OANST 01-17-2007 02:20 PM

I'm more of an electro shock blues man than a beautiful freak man but they are both good albums/ ESB deals mainly with the death his mother and sister but it does so in an almost whimsical way.

skillya_glowi 01-17-2007 06:29 PM

Well, since the question was asked, I actually went out and got three new albums yesterday:

The Moon and Antarctica by Modest Mouse. My second Modest Mouse album --- my first one was the Lonesome Crowded West, which I bought last summer, I think. Pure awesomeness, both of them.

The Soft Bulletin by the Flaming Lips. My first Flaming Lips album --- all I had before were some random downloads from the Internet. It kicks major arse, imo.

The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars by David Bowie. Golden oldie (aaah, good ole 60s). I had it on tape a loooong time ago (still have it on tape as a matter of fact), but the fact that the only thing I use my walkman (yea, I still have one) for was to listen to that cassette kind of didn’t sit well with my comfort requirements…

OANST 01-18-2007 02:58 PM

Wow. Good choices. All of them. Sometimes it's like I don't know who you are. That's probably just because I have no idea who you are, though. Go figure.

moxco 01-22-2007 11:58 AM

Any outkast fans here.
I also like:
Red hot chili pepres, Eskimoe joe, black eyed peas and greenday.

skillya_glowi 01-22-2007 07:35 PM

Ugh. I hate Green Day. Don't kill me though, I don't deserve it.

snuzi 01-22-2007 08:05 PM

You and me both. I despise punk music in general.

ziggy 01-22-2007 09:11 PM

Green Day is like sissy punk, really, and pure shyeeite. Red Hot Chilli Peppers is good though.

I'm also likin Beck, and Blur, David Bowie, Tool, and Rage Against the Machine. I like some different kinds of music, I just the like the certain sounds of some bands.

skillya_glowi 01-23-2007 08:19 PM

I only liked Bowie's earlier albums, like the first three or so, before his voice started sounding like an echo in a drain pipe. I think that started in the 80s somewhere. Anyway.

Leto 01-23-2007 09:49 PM

Are you kidding? Low and Heroes are two of his best albums.

Explosions in the Sky anyone? They're good, but just a little too wanky for me.

OANST 01-24-2007 02:40 PM

I always thought Outside was one of his best albums.

Godlesswanderer 01-25-2007 03:21 AM

Since this is also on the topic of music, I was just wondering if anyone has a last.fm account? If not, it's a website that logs the music you listen to and shows it on your last.fm profile page.
For example, here's my most recent tracks:

http://imagegen.last.fm/basicrt10/re...sswanderer.gif

And the good thing is that will now update when I listen to something new :)
It also keeps track of your top artists weekly and overall and also your top tracks overall.
If you decide to get an account or you already have one, just send me a friend request. I needs me some more friends.

Fez 01-25-2007 02:29 PM

Taytay 01-25-2007 04:23 PM

Haven't heard anything by "Flaming Lips" though the names sounds familiar. I only have Modest Mouses' "Good New For People Who Love Bad News" Which I liked alot.
Anybody listen to Punk Music, and I am not talking Green Day...to hell with them, I mean real stuff like Descendents, The Distillers, Leftover Crack, etc, etc. Ska Music? Emo Music? Screamo Music?

Those are my favorite types.

OANST 01-25-2007 04:29 PM

Nay. Punk is dead. And all the derivitives of punk are the exact opposite of what punk was meant to be. I merely listen to music. I refuse to listen to bands who try to be a certain thing.

Taytay 01-31-2007 06:25 AM

I am not trying to be any certain type of anything if that is what you are implying. I was merely stating the genre of music so people knew what I was talking about, now on I guess I'll name band names. Also, I listen to decently older punk bands as well, I am not sure how old your talking but still.

OANST 01-31-2007 08:01 PM

nah, I wasn't talking about you. I was talking about the bands. Any band that fits neatly into a little genre gets to die a horrible slow death. Except, that's not true because since the music buying populous WANTS their music packaged in an easily identifiable format they will make lots of money and succeed. And then people will tell me "obviously you don't know what you're talking about. Look at how much money they made. They must be good". And then I will have to murder said people for disappointing my standard of intelligence.

Rich 02-04-2007 06:01 AM

Klaxons = Oh Yes! Fez will agree.

Mojo 02-04-2007 10:01 AM

I've been starting to like bands like Hoobastank, Porcupine Tree, Lifehouse and Cold, lately.

Especially Porcupine Tree has some good songs.

Fez 02-04-2007 02:35 PM

Klaxons are too popular now, I can't liek them and stay Indie :P

Just joking, amazing band with an amazing album.

Been into Interpol recently, any others?
