There was this thing on the news about mass stingray killings in Australia in response to Steve Irwins death. Isn't that just the thing he wouldn't want?
|
I thought they just mutilated them by cutting off their tails?
Either way, I think we can be pretty sure that such an act of revenge would be appreciated - if not officially condoned - by Steve. |

Well, the physical acts are certainly true: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/asi...ic/5338118.stm
So, are these mutilations acts of joyous primitive justice meted out by a load of Australians baying for some stingray blood or just business as usual? You decide. I have. |
I don't think Steve would want this, anymore than he would want a croc killed if that had been what killed him.
If anything I think he would have liked a stingray exhibition or something like that at the Zoo...Right next to Aggro's enclosure/pond/thing (You know since Steve was always saying that Aggro had it in for him ^_~ ) |
No, you are quite wrong. Steve would be secretly smitten with these events. And he would have thought the idea of a stingray exhibition really gay and terribly pat.

Eewww, queers. Anyways, it's too bad he died but it's gonna happen to us all eventually and at least his death was interesting and slightly unique.
|
I heard about the killing of stingrays in a loving attempt to honour the life of a conservationist. Second worst thing to come to my ears that evening.
|
What was the fifth worst?
|
What you just said.
I heard about the stingray deaths. But they said it might not completely be about Steve Irwin's death. But I wasn't really paying attention at the time. I'll find the article at some point. Last week at college we had the dress up for a fancydress party. One woman went as Steve Irwin and got very upset when she talked about him. She felt very close to him after going to his zoo and did all she could to keep the tears back as she talked about him. It really shocked me how much his death had affected some people. - Rexy |
Fifth worst was somebody’s lips.

I say kill rays, for they are delicious and they have spat in the eyes of a legend. Spat I tell you!
Chances are you've already eaten stingray, ray, or skate. Ever order "scallops" at a restaurant. Yeah. And that ain't tilapia or grouper either, sugar tits. If you believe that when you order fish you've always got what you've ordered whip out your dictionary. You'll be surprised that the words "credulous" and "gullible" aren't in it. |
I just heard the PETA is attacking steve irwin AFTER he's dead. Link up ahead:

The best time to attack someone is when they're dead, got no chance of fighting back. Same applies to children, the elderly, and the disabled.

There's many times where I've heard that Steve Irwin was fatally injured, struck by a poisonous snake, and bitten by other animals, but this is horrendous. Me and my friend thought he was impervious, like he had a safeguard from heaven. But obviously, it was broken. When I learned 2 weeks ago on Saturday that he had died, I literally sobbed my heart out. He was the bravest man I could ever think of, how he went through the dangers to show us the magnificent animals held on Australia. You guys think he deserved to die. Nobody deserves to die, guys. That's just a terrible thought to say.
R.I.P, Croc Hunter; the bravest man in my mind... |

What a load of tosh. He held a bunch of animals still for about a couple of minutes, I’m sure they can deal with that. To show animals in such a tactile and personable manner raised the interest and the profile of wildlife conservation the world over. Don't be such a drama queen - Steve would not want that, he hated queens.

No, fatally injured works fine - there have been false reports of his death before. However, the tense of that sentence is a bit dodgy.
But who cares? |
Stingrays were always my favourite animal. The whole incident and those that followed have been nothing less than bewildering.
Whats this about having revenge by killing rays? If a Texan shoots someone, do you lock away everyone from Texas? Only one ray killed him, it wasn't a dasyatid conspiracy. |
Yeah, but it was Queenslanders who did that. You can't expect them to think like people.
|
People are mourning a ton about this. Look up "Steve Iwrin" on deviantart and see how long it takes you to flick through all the pages that come up.
It's totally horrific that people take the piss, or are offensive after their death. It's not the f*cking time. Making games and saying things like 'good' about it is disturbing and sick. Out of all the Steve Iwrin pics on Deviantart, one of them was vile. It was basically an ugly head thing with a massive d*ck slung off the bottom of it. The guy was saying 'art, The guy dies, and everyones his friend' I should have posted there and told him what a great fat f*cking b*tch t*at he was. Many of the pictures were fairly terrible paint jobs, to be honest, but it's still people showing their respect to a guy who greatly loved animals and tried his best for them and everything. He had no right to put that up. The count of how many people would be dead now if I had the power of the Shrykull is absurdly large after all this disgusting habit thats been going around. |

No. I'm not spending ages looking for it anyway. It's not fit for looking at, anyway. Even in 'that' sense.
