You're welcome. :) I'll be sure to burn the upgraded ones onto a CD too.
I also liked the "Fuzzle Testing" I didn't really know there was music in MO.

MeechShrykull1029 05-06-2008 05:54 PM

You probably played it on a 360 then.

OddYouko 05-06-2008 06:00 PM

No I've never played it before. I've just seen some videos.

That would be less official.

Do you know any rip that's official?

MeechShrykull1029 05-07-2008 02:17 PM

I said it would be less official, not nonofficial.

Fuzzle Guy 05-07-2008 02:20 PM

You can't get these music tracks on official CD. Not anymore I don't think anyway.
That's why Killy has done us the huge favour of ripping them! :D Thanks.

MeechShrykull1029 05-07-2008 02:26 PM

You can still buy the official ones on Ebay if you're lucky.

It wouldn't be official at all. It would be unoffical. The rips are unofficial, and the burnt CDs are unofficial, so why you're wittering over whether something's official or not, I cannot understand.

MeechShrykull1029 05-10-2008 07:40 AM

I think that it would be more official if the maker burns it on a CD.

Wil 05-10-2008 07:51 AM

You can’t take something completely unofficial and give it any kind of official status without the original creators stepping in and saying so, which they never will. As far as game rips go, they are not publically released on CDs, so this is not a regular (‘official’) distribution tactic used by rippers.

MeechShrykull1029 05-10-2008 07:57 AM

It would be more official if the maker burned them on CDs in my opinion. That's just my opinion.

Killy 05-10-2008 10:08 AM

Your opinion sucks at this point, because you're actively trolling this thread.

It's unofficial, 100%, all the way. No rip will ever, ever be official, whether I burn 100 copies of it or 1.

Mac Sirloin 05-18-2008 07:50 AM

Killy, I've been a bit of a dick to you (LOL A BIT), but the fact that you ripped this music is a significant achievement, AWESOME job.

abe619 05-24-2008 03:12 AM

hey , this thread is old.
but killy gave my some samples from his mo xbox rips.
but he won't be around the next few weeks for college.
anyway i am planning on ripping using line-in and an mp3 but I don't know which program killy used to edit them.
i do have goldwave but i don't think it can reduce the soundeffects from the chasing and fighting except if the program read them as vocals so i can reduce em.

Hold on, I don't recall asking you to speak for me? This is sort of rude and you're being very impatient - I can't instantly reply to every single one of your MSN messages, I hope you realise that. You could've just sent me a PM and I would've gladly helped you out.

I don't mean to be an ass or anything, I'm just saying - you're talking about me like I'm not even here or as if I don't give a damn.

Goldwave works fine, but you should try SoundForge or Audition, they have more and better filters for multitracking and editing. Also, I thoroughly explained the procedure to you, but you insist on asking me this. Sound effects are not vocals. In fact, if they were vocals and you'd filter them out, you'd degrade the sample beyond recognition. You need to record clean samples, which ultimately means playing through the same sequence over and over again until you have enough clean samples so that you can mix them together to form the track in its entirety.

Crashpunk 06-01-2008 08:07 AM

there is a problem my dowloading is so slow! after about 3 minuites its at a amazing...17% i need to restart my computer

hope they sound cool :D

OddjobAbe 06-01-2008 08:24 AM

Ouch, my screen.

Crashpunk 06-01-2008 08:30 AM

Oh it didn't work...must be my mediaplayer

Never Sleeper 06-08-2008 09:08 AM

@Crashpunk: Yeah they said you still need the winamp media player to listen the rips. ; )

Okay after the nice critic by Killy I tried to make some points differend by the soundtrack cover. The font in the inlay is now the "odd"-font and gets a new colour and I set down the colour differences in the CD-layout because the quality is too poor. I hope you like the work. =)

It would be nice if you got some critik or something else. =P

sorry , killy didn't mean it and i don't want u to reply instantly.
thanks for the info anyway so what u mean is that i get a clean part from a record and leave the screaming and fighting and then make a loop of it?

marlz 06-27-2008 01:10 AM

Great job with the Oddworld Music.
Those MP3s are the best.

LifeMachine 08-24-2008 02:41 AM

Thanks so much! You just made another fan happy here!

SNegrea 08-26-2008 07:15 AM

Thanks, can't wait to listen to the Monsaic Lines theme. Not once I've started the game and loaded a Monsaic Lines savegame just to hear the beautiful music.

Now that I'm listening to it, I can say that it's definitely more of a song. And the version is different though; on the PC the theme sounds more lo-fi and also the flute section sounds... electronic. Whether the PC version is truly electronic or it is just a result of the reduced quality, I don't know. Anyway, thanks very much!

As far as the flute section is concerned, I sampled and rearranged it myself. Because I felt that it's a central piece in the composition of the tune as a whole I decided to rearrange it a little bit. It took me quite a while to finish the arrangement of Monsaic Lines before I was satisfied.

Seeing as the rip is now over 3,5 years old (and the arrangement too) and I'm currently working on rerips of both PSX games, a rearrangement is long overdue. I'm hoping it'll sound even better when I'm finished with it a second time around. The only thing that I'm worried about is "over-production" and maybe straying a bit too far away from the Oddworld sound, so if you (or anyone else for that matter) have any suggestions on what I need to change or fix, let me know - I'd really appreciate it.

Yeah there were two parts Killy ; )

At first I miss a part in Rupture Farms and that is the Slig-Theme in Abe's Oddyssee. You can listen that the first Slig-Theme is at the Stocky Yards.

Secound if you hardy listen to the Slig-Theme of the Paramonia temple there you can recognise a slog. I think you record the music of the first Slig in this environment. If you continue the game some parts in the temple you will discover a level by the different doors where are two Sligs without any disruption.

Thats my comment to your otherwise awesome detailed work. ; )

This is excellent piece of advice, thanks alot Never Sleeper!
*bookmarks*

Also, regarding the Slig-Theme in Rupture Farms, I'm pretty sure I recorded the first one, though I can't recall. I did indeed miss alot of tracks from the first game, seeing as I had far less experience when dealing with recordings and hearing the different tracks, so you're probably right. The Paramonia temple slig-theme is going to be dealt with accordingly, thanks alot for your help.

Great packets

Nice Work

This saves me the time of doing all the others scince I had started ripping them myself. DEFINATELY hard work but it's worth the glory in the end... scince the work is now done for me (Thanks to you) I can now start ripping sounds instead... Hardest part would be trying to get certain sounds like a slig saying help cause the music is gonna get crazy and some other sounds would most likely be going around too... >_< anyway, Thanks!!!

solidejake 12-26-2008 10:03 PM

I've got a solution to those of you (Me) That want these soundtracks but it won't work... Whoever it worked for attaches the .MP3 with an Oddworld picture in Win Movie Maker and posts all of these songs as videos on YouTube. Therefore WE (I) Could go to videocodezone and convert the video to .MP3 and be happy. You'll be the only one with full Oddworld OST's and possibly get views from it too. What do you say?
