I'm glad I wasn't as old and grey when I was cool

Because the way men are constructed in video games isn't exaggerated and sexualized..... I don't know many guys who are as muscular and good looking as the average video game star. I know some, but not many. I also know some women who are easily as drop dead gorgeous as the best looking video game stars. Again, not many, but some.

Also, for the record, my hair started going grey when I was about 25.

Could be worse, Patrick Stewart was bald by 19.

I think the common argument is that those male characters are the way they are to cater to male power fantasies, rather than female sex fantasies, since most mainstream publishers don't consider the female gaming audience large enough to be worth targeting in that way.

That said, being a wispy seductress with an army of men in your thrall is probably something of a power fantasy in its own right to your average Cloverfield.

To be fair, you do have main characters like whatisface off Gears of War who is an ugly meat head. So umm, I forget what my point is.

I usually side with Jim Sterling on matters such as these. So, I think he did a video on this topic but I can't be arsed to find it.

Strong female characters are best female characters.

I trust Kojima on this. He wrote what is perhaps the strongest female character in the medium, so yeah.

You can't say 'strong female characters' without first defining what you mean by 'strong'. Physically strong? Being a badass strong? Progressing as a character through an arc and overcoming fears strong?

Technically Lara Croft was a 'strong female character' in the original few Tomb Raider games, at least in terms of physical strength and taking no shit from the other characters. But I really don't think she was a good or interesting female character.

Kojima created The Boss, she was strong in every way. Physically, badass, character progression, etc, etc. I sure hope he doesn't mess up with Quiet. Both Sniper Wolf and The Boss were sexy and strong in their own ways.

Being a strong character and also being female. If at all possible, being a strong character in a way which is complimented by her sex/gender.

Maybe I should say well written. Certainly not strong in the physical sense. Red She Hulk is strong in the physical sense, but she's about as poor a character as they come.

And yeah, I was thinking of The Boss.

A few years ago I went to the doctor for a cervical polyp that bleeds when I have sex. The Nurse Practitioner at Planned Parenthood twisted it off, and said those things sometimes come back. Sure enough, this one did, so I just left it alone.

Meanwhile, I started cleansing my liver and going after parasites. When I started doing this, I notice a cramping sensation in my uterus and the polyp seemed to move a few minutes after taking a dose parasite herbs. This makes me think it is a parasite. The NP at the clinic said cervical polyps are skin tags that grow on the cervix. But mine seems to be shrinking now that I'm doing the parasite cleanse. When I got brave enough to take a really big dose, I felt a really really hard pinching sensation in my uterus and the whole room started spinning. I nearly passed out, and haven't had the courage to take that large of a dose again.

Meanwhile, I've been passing stuff that looks like rice, as well as some round worms and hookworms. It also feels like I have tiny little critters crawling around under the skin on my scalp and wiggling on the end of my tongue after taking a dose of the herbs. I've been going after them for a long time.

IF YOU EVER FIND PARASITE CYSTS IN YOUR SNATCH, EAT SOME HERBS.

Also, alternative medicine practitioners are fucktards. And I don't use words like "fucktard" lightly.

While I am extremely sceptical of alternative medicine, GPs could do a better job with parasites. And they can start with every one of their patients, since they are common and endemic enough that we probably all have them and our quality of life is being seriously impacted. Those random painful twinges, lethargy, mood problems, difficulty controlling weight (gain and loss), frequent constipation. Chances are good that it's parasites, and the effort to treat them is effectively nil.

At least you can't get snatch parasites.

I feel much better now that I've had my daily dose of oregano though.
