Sorry about this, the embed was disabled but this guy is so good people need to hear this.
Basically, some Russian fellow picked up a guitar, turns out the guitar belonged to God himself and he starts making really sexy noises and does things not possible to mankind. It's very Buckethead and the standard is near flawless. IF you're interested; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j5K30ZfLojA |

new Boards of Canada song?????????????
I thought I'd be waiting a month before I heard anything, omg. Album will rule. |
has the new The Knife album already been appreciated?
|
I have friends who absolutely adore The Knife, but I've never listened myself. I do like a bit of Fever Ray, however, which I believe is the side project for Knife's singer.

Been listening to lots of BoC lately in anticipation of the upcoming (double!) LP. Early reviews have said it's got a bit of darker sound, and feels more layered and electronic than the last one, sort of a return to the style found on the first two albums:
Which I couldn't be more than happier about because the first two albums are among my favourites of all time. |
|
If you like rap and hip hop (mr. bungle?) I urge you to listen to good kid, m.a.a.d city. Amazing album.
So goooooood |
I've listened to it, quite a few times. Real good shit. The title track(s) is(are) incredible, as well as Swimming Pools, Bitch Don't Kill my vibe, and Money Trees. I pretty much love all the songs but Real, though.
|
Yeah, Real isn't really up to par with the other songs even though it's decent too. I love love love Backseat Freestyle, Money Trees, Art of Peer Pressure and Now or Never (that's on the deluxe version only I think).
|
Backseat Freestyle is the song that convinced me to give the album another chance a few months back. He tears shit up on that track.

Terrifying ambient

I just wanted to sing, so I sang

I picked up the new album by The National, and this song has become almost an obsession for me. I can't stop listening to it. Every time I get in the car, I put it on, and then play it over and over and over and over. Anyway, it's a really good song.
|
I still need to hear the new one. But I also still need to hear Alligator and High Violet, so I think I'll hear those ones first.
|
I think High Violet is the best of the three, but there's a lot of really good stuff on the new one. For a band that's made a career out of making music about middle class desperation, they really went to some extra anxiety riddled places with the new one. Or maybe it's just because I was identifying with it while listening to it. I don't know. It's a pretty sad album about aimlessness, and confused, frightened love.
