Agreed.

I would like a Paramite and a Scrab to appear in the same screen. It can be different cages in the stockyards or whatever, but it would be nice.
I think it would be fun if a Paramite or a Scrab could be harmed by bullets and the industrial characters are possible to eat.
I think one of the most important things to ask is will the controls remain the same as the original? I dont want to have to get used to new settings!
Dont forget though that it will be a new engine with new game mechanics correct me if i'm wrong) probably, so it will be likely that the controls will be slightly different.
It's a new game engine, but the game mechanics are very nearly identical. On the one hand, we need to offer the same controller setup, or as near as we can. On the other hand, if we don't put jump on the X button, we'll have failed as modern game developers.
Add classic and customisable controls...
I want a button that makes Abe scratch his ass.
Bring it to Xbox 360 and make it Kinect compatible so you can actually scratch Abe's ass yourself. Make a minigame out of it.
Hell, let's make it the game in its entirity!
I'm sure it could work as an iOS game. All you see on the screen is Abe's arse and you can scratch it as much as you like while he squirms with delight.

Not as far as I'm aware. I don't even know how far away we are from implementing controls.

No, no, no, no, no,
Ok, well, maybe one for Get Freaky, but that's really pushing it. |
Get Freaky was terrible in both concept, and execution. Not to mention the song itself being absolutely awful.
Use Yur Imagination wasn't that great either.
If by "wasn't that great" you mean that the people who made it should have been beaten then I agree.
Baring in mind that was back in the 90s. The 90s, not a great decade for music. Except rap...and techno...
Will there be an achievement for possessing the very first Slig?

I like the way you assume STM is incapable of irony.
Because he is.
I actually like "Get Freaky" anyway. Or I did when I was 10. I wonder how I'd feel about it now. Edit: Okay, I re-listened. I still like it in a "we all thought Space Jam was the best movie ever" kind of way. However, the video retroactively killed Oddworld. The Japanese Abe-a-GoGo ad is still better than sex though. |
If I was incapable of irony, what was my last post, m'dear?
An in-depth retrograding of the music of yesteryear.
You have a "derpy" MLP avatar. You have disposed of your ability to complain about others' subtlety.
I wonder what the Get Freaky guys do nowadays... I bet one of them is still trying to pursue a music career. |
I specifically chose Derpy for that very reason.
As for Music Instructor, their wiki says they're still active, but they haven't made any music since 2000. Apparently "Get Freaky" went Platinum in Germany. |
I bought the Get Freaky CD solely because it was kind of Oddworld merchandise. Bad idea.
The music video was great in the sense that the performers were placed into Oddworld scenes, I really liked that.
I thought it was horrible.

It makes me wonder what target audience OWI were aiming at as a way of promoting their franchise when they thought of doing that.
Actually did OWI commission it or did they just agree to the request of some rap artists? |
Almost certainly the latter.

For crying out loud, there wasn't even any driving. |
Yeah why didn't they get in a mine car?
Serious answer: Minecars didn't appear until Abe's Exoddus.
And part of the music video had the performers walking through Necrum Mines...
I only remember the 30 seconds in the Monsaic Sacntum. I'd assumed it was made some time between AO and AE. I was wrong, obviously.
Serious answer: Minecars don't appear in any 3D cutscenes. |
