Jersey Shore.

AGH

I saw this advertised a few times. I'm not personally deep in sub-American cultures like the Guidos, or however you label them.

All I heard about it was, a bunch of tanned up cunts getting drunk/laid/beaten up. I am tempted to watch it at least once, but... I'll take your assessment as a full review and not even bother, though I know the inevitable will soon force me to see it.

I recently saw The Hangover 2 by Dynamithix's request. Honestly, it was pretty damn funny. I just wished I saw the first one first.

I'm currently pining to see the new Green Lantern movie. Call me a nerd if you want, but do realise you're cunts at the end of the day.

Saw The Rite and Megamind via On-Demand today.

The Rite was very run-of-the-mill. I really feel like Anthony Hopkins just kind of takes whatever work that comes his way without much scrutiny. I predict he'll crack out an equivalent of Dustin Hoffman's Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium before kicking the bucket.

Megamind was okay, though I felt like it was a little all over the place. I liked Jonah Hill's character, which was in fact just Jonah Hill in CG form.

I just watched Silence of the Lambs and Clerks. Both were very good, but Clerks I thought took the cake. I loved the that movie to death.

Just don't watch Clerks II.

Mr. Bungle 06-05-2011 12:06 PM

My friends said it was really funny, but I'm hesitant. He also said to check out Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back. Is that worth watching?

It's okay if you ignore anything that comes out of Chris Rock's mouth, but you should always do that anyway.

No. Generally speaking I think Keven Smith isn't a very talented writer. Clerks was good because the passion and desperation he had about getting that movie made really came across [I mean he sold his fucking comic book collection to help fund it], but pretty much everything after that turned into "lol, I have money who cares". Mallrats is alright, Chasing Amy is decent. Clerks II completely ruins the characters that he created in the first film, especially Randall.

Movies that he only has a hand in, or that his production company handles tend to be pretty okay, though. 'Vulgar' and 'A better place' were worth watching. Sort of.

I just saw Eraserhead.

If it's point was to be completely strange and surrealistic then it's an amazing movie but seriously though, what the fuck.

Watched Street Fighter last night.

Such an awesome film. You can tell all the actors knew it would be a trainwreck and just had so much fun.

I watched this a couple of nights ago. It's fantastic. I have a friend who used to be terrified by the scene where the little boy picks up his head and takes it to the pencil factory. A lot of David Lynch's films are bizarre.

So, I went against was DI said and watched Clerks 2. At least most of it. I was watching it on megavideo, so it had to stop watching at the scene with the guy who was going to fuck the donkey.

I kind of regret watching it, kind of don't. I think that, as a standalone film, it was a decent comedy, worth a few laughs. Compared to the first one, however, it was just stupid bullshit with no real thought put into it. There were some clever lines, but overall, it lacked the intellectual depth I loved about the first one. I can see what you mean by them "ruining the characters" in this one, though. It seemed like they were trying too hard to be an utter jackass in some scenes, though it was pretty funny.

I'm still gonna watch the others just because I love the characters presented in them.

There is one good joke in that film. One. It's the one about the Lord of the Rings movies.

Mr. Bungle 06-06-2011 06:12 PM

Yeah, that was my favourite part.

Dynamithix 06-11-2011 02:59 PM

LOL, I'm watching some awful horror movie called Venom.

It's hilarious!

Daxter King 06-11-2011 10:07 PM

I saw the new X-Men the other day. I have not seen any of the other X-Men movies, so I have nothing to compare it to in regards to that. It was an enjoyable summer flick though, with a good mix of action and comedy. Some of the lines are down right terrible though, one scene had me and my friends laughing really hard at it. Im surprised the scene hasn't made it onto 4chan yet.

jumper 06-11-2011 11:47 PM

I've seen it too. Which lines in particular?

Daxter King 06-11-2011 11:58 PM

Best I've ever seen.

Emesdee 06-12-2011 10:48 AM

Popped in The Horde, some French zombie movie. I have got to stop ordering movies just because they are cheap. Everyone was an asshole, and the whole movie was stuck in a mostly abandoned apartment building. Oh well, now to go trade it in for something hopefully more amusing.

That horrible film where the dude gets bitten by snakes, dies, then comes back to life and kills everyone?

Yeah, it was pretty lulzy.

Dynamithix 06-12-2011 11:44 AM

Yeah, that one. It was funny as hell to watch at 2AM.
