My best bet is that it is a bug and that it will not make a comeback in NnT.

In Abe's Oddysee and Abe's Exoddus there were some instances where characters could clip through terrain or they could squeeze into a closing trapdoor at the very last second, due to using more advanced collision detection methods are we less likely to have situations where a character would do something 'at the last minute' and have it not look really silly? (Like if there was a closing door with a 1mm gap and the 6 foot character manages to squeeze in just fine)

That's weird, I've never seen that before.

A question for Wil or any other JAWers that might pop by: What's going on with Munch HD for PC?
|
Basically, the people who said they could get the PS3 version done in 6 months have so far spent over 2 years on it and it's still not done, so we're not letting them touch the PC version. That's about as far as the story goes at the moment.
|
Were they the same people who ported SWHD?
|
No. JAW did everything for Stranger HD. JAW only did the art for Munch HD, not the programming.
|
Wait... I thought Munch HD was already out on the PS3. No?
|
Break his heart, Wil. Break his heart.
|
It is isn't it?
I remember playing the PS3 demo and then deciding not to buy the full game xD. Munch is shit, simply put. (Basicsly, it's like it's' literally for 3year olds). If there's ever a REAL munch remake, it's vital that the games is rewritten from scratch, must be darker, grittier, and have bad language, blood etc.. I don't mean to discredit OI/JawLTD when I say that. To balance it out, Stranger's Wrath is FANTASTIC, the two original Abe games are FANTASTIC! : Edit: I susect the trap doors will be bigger, or there'll be new animations for mudokons/other creatures falling through the smaller trap doors, where by if they're a little late stepping over a closing trap door, they'll either be crushed to death by it, or the door will fail to close fully with the mudokon trapped and struggling to get out. Maybe Abe must pull the leaver again to release the trapped mudokon? Or maybe the mudokon will just slip straight through because the trap door is weak. I like the idea of a mudokon getting chopped in half by the door, most. |

Maybe The remake is hard enough without adding new stuff |
Surely JAW must have some kind of leg to stand on here? These guys are taking you for a ride, and JAW are the ones taking all the damage because their fans don’t know that the game delays aren’t their fault.
I wouldn’t be surprised if some litigation happens soon. |
:
For one thing, these sorts of contracts usually have some sort of clause covering unexpected circumstances. The company doing the port can probably hide behind that. Secondly, disputes lead to actual litigation very rarely. Even if there was a legal case here, the companies would more than likely negotiate a settlement well before it got to a courtroom. |
I have to admit I kind of lost track.
On which platforms are MO and SW HD released? |
Munch HD is on PS3 in most regions but not all, coming to Vita soon.
Stranger HD is on PS3, Vita and PC, with a not-HD-but-using-some-of-the-improvements-anyway version coming to iOS, Android, Blackberry and Windows Phone soon. |
What form - if any - does a government have on Mudos?
|
Probably Death Sentence is the only penalty, I would guess it as a hierarchy system. Glukkons at the top of the food chain they would have the final say in everything. Probably completely wrong, but that's my guess.
|
Glukkons are nowhere near the top of the food chain. They're just the most powerful creatures we've seen so far.
My guess is that it's an oligarchy. Or possibly more of a bunch of feudal city-states with no central government. This would be a good question for Alf. |
Does the guy who writes Dear Alf do anything else? I swear he's the Letters and Tomatos guy from Mad magazine.
|
I was thinking, Nate, that although I'm sure it varies from place to place, it seems like we've seen a few Anocracies so far.

I know who Alf is but I'm keepting schtum.
|
I know who writes Alf's column. It's Alf the Mudokon.
Beyond that, I don't want to know. |
And with the closing of this thread, you never will.
Please redirect future question to the brand-spelunking new Q&A9. |
