...well yeah, 'telepathy' includes telepathy with Ratz.

Nate 02-16-2010 04:09 AM

RayOni, I'm not sure what you're asking. I think you're asking whether a patch exists that adds subtitles to AO and AE because you saw something on Youtube. If that is indeed what you're asking, I haven't heard of such a patch. I could be wrong, of course, but I suspect that the guy who uploaded it to youtube may have added the subtitles him/herself.

Why don't you send the guy a message and ask?

You correctly think.:)
I hope that such patch exists.

I do not have account on Youtube.

Thanks for the answer!:fuzzle: but you have not answered this question "In MO and SW there are subtitles?".

Wil 02-16-2010 05:10 AM

There aren't.

Bullet Magnet 02-16-2010 04:08 PM

It seems more likely that the subtitles were added to the video.

I'm thinking of redoing the Oddworld Stranger's Wrath fic, but I don't know if it would be acceptable since it would be very similar to the first one and an fic of that has already been made. Is there something i should watch out for, something I should avoid, anything, really, anything I can to to start the fic up again?

And sorry for the random 'eMo' icon, I was trying to get this as my ID pic thingey, and It's uploaded it as a picture. Any ideas?

Nate 02-16-2010 10:19 PM

What are you talking about? If this is a fanfic thing, go ask Splat in FC.

At the top left of this page is a button marked 'User CP'. Click on that, then 'Edit Options'. On the lefthand menu is 'Edit Avatar'.

Gwan-Thwei 02-18-2010 07:22 PM

Thank you Meech. I asked Splat, and Splat said that there wasn't any reason why I couldn't post it.

I have a question, what is Paul doing? Is he anywhere near finishing his level editor?

How big is RuptureFarms?

It is quite interesting to think about how vast RuptureFarms actually is.

At the starting cutscene, the industrial area seems to span out for miles.

Despite there being only a limited amount of screens in RuptureFarms, there are many 'Condemed' areas in the secrets, which I hope are opened sometime soon so Abe can explore them! ;)

Although, the starting video takes place near The Boardroom, where you would think the heart of RuptureFarms would be, but it is only 20-30 screens away from the Stockyards.

In conclusion, it is hard to tell how big RuptureFarms is; for all we know it could be the size of a pinhead, and Mudokons may be the size of bacteria and other microbes, and Oddworld the size of a football. Who knows. :p

I am interested to hear other people's opinions and look forward to perhaps a few replys.

Thank you for reading. :)

Don't forget the ballcars that transport Abe around Rupturfarms. That implies that whilst each Zulag may be smaller than you expected, Rupturefarms itself is quite large.

At what point in their lives are Sligs fitted with mechanical pants?

Josh 02-25-2010 07:00 AM

I'm assuming when the Queen sells them to a Glukkon.

Bullet Magnet 02-25-2010 08:47 AM

When they come of age and trade in their mechanical shorts.

Wil 02-25-2010 09:09 AM

Before those, of course, they wear mechanical nappies.

Josh 02-25-2010 09:25 AM

What do you think the pants are REALLY powerd by? ;)

MeechMunchie 02-25-2010 09:41 AM

Petrol, charging an electric source of some kind.

well... if sligs are like Abe in flatulence, at least it's green energy...

marlz 02-28-2010 09:13 PM

I'm thinkin' that the Slig pants are steam powered.

Steampunk pants FTW!

Grieva 02-28-2010 09:46 PM

Slig pants are powered by fuel produced at Flub Fuels, which is made from the fat sucked out of Mudflubs

Flub Fuels and Slig pants
Flubco and mudflubs

Josh 03-01-2010 08:28 AM

Ugh, that was a poop joke.

SparkErosion 03-07-2010 06:54 PM

Hey guys, how do you get the infinite grenades feature for killing all mukodons in AO? I think in some secret areas you cannot kill all the mukodons. For example secret area D3 In scarabania D2Po8Co5-D2Po8co9

Phylum 03-07-2010 08:04 PM

You don't have to kill all the mudukons.

I think it's about 80-something.

MeechMunchie 03-07-2010 11:41 PM

But when you tell people that, they start skipping Muds and usually fail. Basically, just kill all the Mudokons you can.

Taco 03-08-2010 01:50 AM

I thought you HAD to kill every single mud you come accross if possible.

Wil 03-08-2010 02:23 AM

No, the cut-off point is actually quite low, 80-something like Phylum says.

Phylum 03-08-2010 11:00 PM

76.

That would include all the unnecessary ones with a margin for error. Happy killing!

Taco 03-09-2010 02:16 AM

well I may just do that if Oddbox ever comes out. I want the steam achievment for it damn it!

Gwan-Thwei 03-09-2010 04:53 PM

OH! If i post a question, then post another one right after that, is it double posting? Or there's this joke thread, and If I post two jokes in two comments at a time, is that double posting?

Nate 03-09-2010 06:38 PM

If you post twice within 12 hours it's double posting. If it's been longer than that, go ahead.

This question is not related to Oddworld, so it should have been asked in FS&H, or in a PM to a mod.

Lord Stanley 03-10-2010 01:28 PM

Is Stranger really a good guy? Did he become good when he agreed to help the Grubbs, or was he taking advantage of them just to enact his revenge?

Grieva 03-10-2010 03:42 PM

Stranger was intentionally made morally ambiguous, motivated by his self-defined sense of justice.

His character was influenced by the 'Man with No Name' character stereotype as portrayed by Clint Eastwood in the 'Dollars' trilogy

Lord Stanley 03-10-2010 05:50 PM

Oh. So you could see him as either good guy or bad guy...let's go with gray. Somewhere in the middle.

Are the Clakkerz bad guys? They moved into the lands the Grubbs used to live in when the water dried up, but are they really bad guys, or just stupid?

Nate 03-10-2010 09:59 PM

The Oddworld mythos does not believe in Good Guys and Bad Guys; merely individuals who are regarded as good and bad when seen from a certain perspective.

You know, just like in real life.

Wil 03-11-2010 06:21 AM

The Stranger's initial goal is survival. That's why he wants the surgery, that's why he goes after Sekto. But I think by the end of the story he's learned to feel for the Grubbs because he's come to realize his ancestors' role of guardians of the Mongo Valley is part of his real identity.

Clakkerz are self-interested and selfish, and they don't give a crap about the Grubbs or the environment, but they're also pretty ignorant about what their doing to the world around them. Essentially they're just trying to get by in a harsh environment and preserve their way of life. That latter point can be said about any Oddworld race.
