You're such a scientist.

I'm going to go have another attempt at Limbo.

Crashpunk 08-20-2012 02:08 AM

Messing around with that game is pretty fun actually. Making 5 other stars in the solar system and see which Planets go to which.

I'm such a nerd.

I haven't played it, but I think I will tonight. It doesn't look very scary, to be honest.

EDIT: Can't find a good download link. Dammit.

It's not that great, I wouldn't worry too much.

Geek then.

Mr. Bungle 08-20-2012 11:45 AM

People who get hung up over other calling themselves nerds are worse than the ones who call themselves nerds.

Gonna play through Banjo-kazooie for the millionth time soon. I love that game.

Crashpunk 08-20-2012 09:48 PM

Well to be honest I don't consider myself a Nerd or a Geek. I was just saying I'm a nerd because what I said before is...nerdy. :tard: I don't want to get in one of those discussions about labels and such though.

Varrok 08-20-2012 11:31 PM

Then maybe stop talking about it D:

Finished Portal 2 again. Yup, still fun

Nepsotic 08-21-2012 04:57 AM

I have every single achievement for it on Xbox, but now that I've switched to Steam, I'll have to do it all over again! :(

How the hell do I complete test chamber 10 in 70 seconds with a mouse?

You could probably do it in like 30 seconds when using a Mouse. Mouse + Keyboard are better then a Controller, Especially on Portal.

Dynamithix 08-21-2012 05:49 AM

I finished Ghost Trick today. Damn, what a fucking ending. It all got really, really strange towards the end but they explained it all really well in the end. The game was absolutely amazing though it has very little replay value since it's a pretty linear experience. Probably the best DS game I have played.

Yes, I know that. It's just I'm used to using a controller.

I just got an original DS* a few days ago and been looking for some interesting games. I know Ghost Trick is well-liked, but how does it play?

*cutting edge

Mr. Bungle 08-21-2012 10:36 AM

Get Mario Kart DS. One of the best racing games I've ever played, and it's on a handheld. Who'da thunk it?

If you're looking for recommendations...there's mine. I put so much time into that game.

Manco 08-21-2012 10:42 AM

Well, I do have an unhealthy love of kart racers... I’ll keep that in mind.

To pre-empt others, I already plan to get some Pokemon games, Scribblenauts, and Okamiden.

JennyGenesis 08-21-2012 10:57 AM

I finally bought Brink, and a brand new copy to!

I want my £5 back, I feel ripped off.

Wings of Fire 08-21-2012 11:01 AM

Get the Phoenix Wright games.

All five of them.

Do it do it do it.

Varrok 08-21-2012 11:02 AM

My advice is to listen to WoF.

If you want Scribblenauts, I'd suggest renting it. It is fun, but only for about 3 hours.

It plays like a puzzle game, which it essentially is. You can use the stylus or the d-pad to control your spirit from an object to another. You'll get the hang of it very quickly. Also, it has a ton of dialogue so it's not a full-on action game if that's what you're looking for. But yeah, get it. It's fun and the story is good and the characters are very unique and ridiculous in their own ways.

Besides being a huge nerd who likes to own games, I get the feeling that just buying the game used will be cheap enough to justify.

I’m intrigued. Sounds good, I’ll check it out.

Wings of Fire 08-21-2012 11:49 AM

That feel when nobody has ever believed me about what masterpieces the Ace Attorny games are.

Varrok 08-21-2012 12:36 PM

I believe you, but only because I had a chance to play them. And you spelled the title wrong

Nepsotic is right. I ended up trading in Scribblenauts for very little money, just to get it out of my house and improve the average quality of my game collection. It's really not worth owning.

If you like puzzley games, try Meteos. It's ostensibly a Tetris/Bejewelled clone, but done with enough subtle complexity to be really interesting.

Hell yeah, Mario Kart DS is still an amazing racer. I loved the missions you can do.

If I could recommend DS games I would say WarioWare Touched!, Super Mario 64 DS, New Super Mario Bros, Pokemon HeartGold/SoulSilver or Black/White and Metroid Prime Hunters.

And you've just reminded me, I still have a few DS games I need to try out, some being Metal Slug 7, Okamiden, The World Ends with You, and the Chrono Trigger port for DS

Metal Slug 7 and the Chrono Trigger port for DS

Metal Slug 7 isn't really worth it unless you get it for around ten bucks. I bought it for that price last year and completed it once (it's pretty damn short) and never played it again. The Chrono Trigger for DS is great.

Crashpunk 08-22-2012 06:13 AM

I was only giving Metal Slug 7 a look because I love the series and I think it would be a pretty neat game to have a Metal Slug game handheld. I've also realized that Metal Slug Anthology is out on the Wii and I still don't own it.

Strike Witch 08-22-2012 07:18 AM

Got and completed the new transformers game today.

Fun, but fuck that non-ending.

Mr. Bungle 08-22-2012 12:02 PM

Oh yeah, also, Super Mario 64 DS is a great port. You can play as Yoshi. Why wouldn't you want it?

Alf Shall Rise 08-22-2012 01:41 PM

The Mario & Luigi games on the DS are pretty fun too. I'd recommend them.

Plus Wario. Everyone loves Wario right?

no? just me. okay...

Alf Shall Rise 08-22-2012 02:50 PM

Man, forget both Wario and Yoshi. It was all about Luigi in that game!

Crashpunk 08-22-2012 02:59 PM

Luigi is too mainstream.

Mr. Bungle 08-22-2012 08:06 PM

Luigi is the shit. I own as him in Melee.

Also, I kinda wanna play Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga now. Again. Such a phenomenal game.

jumper 08-22-2012 10:39 PM

Luigi was completely insane in that game, with his spinning backwards jump that let you go almost anywhere.

I've started playing Croc with a mate. It was one of the first video games I owned, so it holds a special place in my heart. But holy shit the controls are awful; almost all of the difficulty stems from our inability to control Croc. We're still enjoying though, and the music is just excellent. Also, I discovered (well, independently discovered, bit it was already known) a pretty cool glitch that allows you to hover for up to ~5 seconds, which allows you to do some pretty neat stuff.

My first experience with a non-kart racing Mario was just a few weeks ago.

I was horrible at it and died repeatedly, and when the controller was handed to a more competent player they began playing badly too. That’s how bad I am at Mario.

Crashpunk 08-23-2012 11:22 AM

Maybe you should try New Super Mario Bros first. That game is so easy

Wings of Fire 08-23-2012 03:36 PM

Were you playing Super Mario Sunshine?

Because if so that's probably why.

Manco 08-23-2012 03:46 PM

It was one of the old ones. Super Mario 3 or something? I dunno.

Wings of Fire 08-23-2012 04:40 PM

The 2D ones are harder than the 3D ones*

*Not counting Sunshine
