Have you guys seen this thing?

That guy's great

Wil 02-08-2010 02:17 AM

Can I unsee it?

Taco 02-08-2010 02:35 AM

It wasn't bad

He lands in a barrel full of brew. The sound fx is clearly a liquid being splashed.

How can you say that? He could also be fallen in the slush.. I think he's dead because Abe has a disgusted face.

Wil 02-08-2010 06:42 AM

No, he does good impressions, from what little I saw because I lost interest because I don't really care. What was your question relating to the Oddworld universe or games, again?

Nate 02-08-2010 01:04 PM

I think he just wanted to share something vaguely Oddworld-related and didn't want to create an entirely new thread for it. I applaud his conservatism.

Crashpunk 02-08-2010 01:18 PM

Wasn't there a thread years ago about oddworld impressions?

Gwan-Thwei 02-08-2010 07:55 PM

Who was he trying to imitate?

Rayrockslots 02-08-2010 09:15 PM

I think it's ironic that you don't "See" what happens to the "Blind" Mudoken! Hohoho! Ohhhhh god i'm so bored

Yeah basically, and I thought it'd be stupid to post it in a blog or in the fan corner since it's not my work and it also doesn't seem worth making an entire thread for it. There's also no "Look at the OW stuff I found on the internet" thread so this is as close as I could get.

Anyway, who are the composers for the AO/AE music and have they done music for any other games? I'd be interested to hear some other stuff besides the AO/AE "soundtrack"

Wil 02-09-2010 02:12 AM

The guy who wrote the more "composed" pieces of the soundtrack for the FMVs is Josh Gabriel, most famous for being half of the electronica duo Gabriel & Dresden. He nows tours solo, but is also a big name in the sound engineering world. See Wikipedia for more details, but as far as I'm aware he's not worked on any other games. He worked at Oddworld because he's a college friend of Lorne's.

The more minimal and atmospheric gameplay music is done by Ellen Meijers (credited as Ellen Meijers-Gabriel in AE. She's worked on more games, according to Wikipedia and her website.

Good old Max.

MeechMunchie 02-09-2010 08:56 AM

Are there any detailed shots or schematics of the RuptureFarms boardroom?

Crashpunk 02-10-2010 10:27 AM

That's just consept art of the boardroom?

Lord Stanley 02-10-2010 12:07 PM

You only see the boardroom in a couple cutscenes and then when you're blowing all the Glukkons up, so I'm not sure if there's any way to get good pictures.

MeechMunchie 02-10-2010 11:46 PM

Yes, I know what you mean.

Grieva 02-12-2010 10:04 AM

Do mudokons go through a childhood phase?

Wil 02-12-2010 11:42 AM

They hatch as children, yes. Whether they get a "childhood" as slaves is another matter.

Grieva 02-12-2010 12:02 PM

thanks, know how long until they're fully grown?

Bullet Magnet 02-12-2010 12:32 PM

I estimate about eight years, however long one of those is.

Phylum 02-13-2010 03:08 PM

Her mother.

Grieva 02-13-2010 03:25 PM

Lorne Lanning

enchilado 02-13-2010 05:18 PM

Me.

Phylum 02-13-2010 07:22 PM

It also occurs to me AiN means who gave her the ability of child birth, in which case, her genes.

Yes... that is me, but I never expected it to end up on OWF!!!

Grieva 02-14-2010 09:42 AM

Fuck you, you are not funny and also my question was serious! Umpf.

It may have been serious, but we don't understand what you're asking.

Wil 02-14-2010 01:54 PM

He's asking who gave birth to Sam. I don't think anyone misunderstood that. It's just that we have no sensible answer.

Nate 02-14-2010 01:56 PM

Except for:

It also occurs to me AiN means who gave her the ability of child birth, in which case, her genes.

Which is pretty much what I was thinking.

Taco 02-14-2010 07:29 PM

what's the almighty raisin? I mean what kind of creature?

Nate 02-14-2010 11:39 PM

http://oddworld.com/firsttenyears/un...aisin_bio.html
He's an Elder Tree.

Goddamn the Oddworld Universe webpage sucks for firefox. And I'm not even in Windows to be able to use IE. Had to Select-All and then use Linky to open every single link on the page.

Wil 02-15-2010 02:01 AM

Could have just gone into the source and found the URI of the page you wanted.

His main page calls him an Elderling.

Lord Stanley 02-15-2010 02:17 AM

How does the Almighty Raisin know everything, if he can't move?

MeechMunchie 02-15-2010 02:23 AM

Telepathy.

How does the Almighty Raisin know everything, if he can't move?

He reads webpages. You might want to learn from his example.
