I saw the mid-season finale for Breaking Bad. It was pretty damn good, the ending was pretty predictable but still good. I liked the jail stabbing scene a lot.
Oh yeah and I also watched Event Horizon yesterday. I thought it was a good sci-fi flick, very scary at points, the blood orgy scene was weird as fuck. I thought the movie got really stupid at the last half of it, the final showdown with Wier and Miller was entertaining but also unintentionally hilarious. But yeah, good movie overall. |
The final scene where they're all eating dinner was incredible. The way it was directed made it to be such a tense scene. And yet all they were doing was eating dinner. It was great.

The Ten Commandments.
It was a battle getting to the end of this one, now I loved the movie, but I was watching it through Sky Player on the Xbox was being a bitch all day and kept crashing on me, when I finally got to watch it properly, for some reason, the last 10 minutes were missing, but thankfully the full movie is on Youtube! The longest film I have ever seen but it was great. |
I watched Big Nothing earlier. David Schwimmer and Simon Pegg.
I didn't expect to like it as much as I did. It was an incredibly dark, and pretty twisted storyline for what it looked like: another lame comedy-drama that usually evens out to be pretty boring. But not here. It was a very engaging, and at times hilarious dark drama about something along the lines of a heist (don't want to spoil anything) going terribly wrong. The themes and general plot reminded me a lot of Breaking Bad, actually. So if you're a fan of that I'd recommend this movie. While it had some cliched moments, it was overall pretty solid. Thumbs up. |
I saw that. From what I remember, the first act at the call centre is the best.
|
Watched Braveheart recently...I liked it more than I thought I would. It was epic, well acted and even though it wasn't exactly historically accurate (but then there isn't much on William Wallace) it was certainly very enjoyable.
Mel Gibson is a hell of a director. Shame he is also fucking insane. |
Shame he also now refuses to make films in languages that people still speak.
|
:
|
I actually thought it was pretty good too. Still, I see a pattern emerging. Also he's fucking crazy.
|
I believe his next film, or at least the one he wants to make, will be about vikings. So yeah there is a pattern emerging.
|
Will it star Mel Gibson being a selfless messiah, being betrayed by the people he fights to protect and then dying as a martyr?

Dovahkiin: After Alduin.

I saw A Very Harold and Kumar Christmas about a week ago. Every time I see their movies, I see them by accident. They will just be playing on tv one day when I'm bored. But I am always surprised that they are actually pretty goddamn funny, and clever. I finally realized that they are supposed to be the modern day Bill and Ted, and not the modern day Half Baked. Which is a good thing. Talk shit all you want, but the Bill and Ted movies are classic absurdist comedies, and are great fucking movies.
|
I'm still unsure of my thoughts on the second Bill and Ted movie (It's been like a decade since I saw it last) but the first one is one of my all time favourite movies.
|
The second one definitely wasn't as good, but it wasn't terrible. At least not in a bad way.
|
Intelligent use of time travel: gotta love them for that alone.
Though losing Napoleon in the present (can we still call it the present?) was one of the most irresponsible uses of time travel. Not counting those that actually destroy history, it probably ranks first. |
Do you guys know that they're making a third one?

Bill and Ted's Heinous Mid-Life Crisis?

Apparently the director of Galaxy Quest is involved.
I actually have hopes for it now. |
:
What are you looking forward to this year, then. A few things, for me. Doctor Who (which just started), Dexter season 7, MLP season 3, American Horror Story season 2, oh, and Fringe! I fucking love that show. |
There isn't a show worth watching in that list.
|
:
American Horror Story is amazing. It's unlike anything I've ever seen. |
I am reasonably excited for the new Dexter so long as it has less fucking useless padding and pseudo-incest.
|
Me too. The trailer is looking promising
|
Dexter is one of the worst television programs I have ever watched. I actually get angry watching that bullshit.
|
You say that without telling us why you think it. It's like you're disagreeing just for the hell of It. And why the fuck would you watch it if you don't like it?
And yes, that storyline last season was insanely creepy, I can't believe they did that. It wasn't very nice, even If they aren't blood related. |
Oh, no. I legitimately fucking despise that show. I was forced to watch it with other people, and was unable to contain my contempt for the horrible writing, and acting. It has to be the worst written show on television.
|
I think it's overrated as fuck.
