I've 100%'ed both NSMBWii and Sunshine, and Sunshine is definitely harder.
|
I loved sunshine. funny, as I don't care for galaxy.*shrugs*
|
I found all the terminals in Halo Anniversary.
Funny how 343 is now a sympathetic villain. Poor bastard. |
I will never forgive that floating robo fuck for Johnson...NEVER. To this day, I do not know why he didn't just use his laser vision to take 343 out...*shakes head*
|
I just thought Halo 3 was an eh game and the robot was a really shitty final boss.
eh |
He was a shitty boss. good ending, as a closer for the trilogy though. Reach's was breathtaking-pretty bold on bungie's part, I thought.
|
:
Trust me, Johnson is not dead. |
:
I’ll never understand why they tried to shoehorn in a boss though. That fight could have easily been a cutscene. :
He then proceeds to show up at a medal presentation. |
Playing Assassin's Creed: Revelations multiplayer. Stabbing people in the back just stays fun.
|
:
I also seem to be one of the few to prefer Halo 3's campaign over Reach's. Reach definitely had its moments, but as a whole I enjoyed Halo 3 much more for much longer. I think part of it has to do with Bungie's terrible achievement choice of asking players to beat Legendary solo, discouraging a ton of people from co-op Legendary runs. |
So I almost replied with "but why not just beat legendary on easy mode", but I caught myself.
I beat Saints Row 3, surprisingly. I got both endings. The 'good' ending neuters about another hour worth of story gameplay out from under you, but you can just redo the mission any time to progress. Here's some spoilers. Johnny Gat is permanently dead. Killed at the start of the game. No surprise return, no half-robot silliness. He's dead, and that's fucking stupid. The 'good' ending has you returning to life as a media star and not as the leader of a psychotic empirical gang that brings cities to their knees. Killbane becomes your pal and Shaundi lives. You're seen as heroes for saving Steelport from Cyrus Temple and STAG. The 'other' ending (not really 'bad' compared to the other) has you beat Killbane to death in the wreckage of his jet after he tries to escape. Shaundi is blown up. You destroy a flying aircraft carrier and take Steelport as your own personal city state. I'm guessing this is the Canon ending. I'm fine with that, but why they killed off two of your original gang members is beyond me. |
:
To be honest, I wasn't expecting Johnny Gat to even die... Did he die at the very first mission where he gets stabbed? If so, that's fucking retarded. Also, how big of a role do the 'Deckers' play in the main story? |
:
Relative to the overall plot, the deckers are extremely minor, but the part of the game that has you focusing on them is probably the most fun. Especially the boss fight. ESPECIALLY THAT FUCKING BOSS FIGHT. They're also the most difficult to deal with when you're just freeroaming/causing havoc. All of them dual wield SMG's, have this magical ability to zip around really fast like sonic, and come at you in DROVES. Also they have giant swords. They definitely have the coolest aesthetic. Logically speaking it would make more sense if they were the final gang but unfortunately they ain't. |
I still have to complete Saints Row 2. I always get distracted blowing up cars and pedestrians.
|
Tried out the Rage demo they put on Xbox Live. Overall, it feels like a game that tries to do too many things without excelling at any of them. Im not entirely sure what the point of having towns is, since I just seem to run back and forth between people, something that's not really worthwhile. It also seems you can carry infinite loot, which is sort of cool, but there doesn't seem to be much to do with it.
I suppose it is a design choice to have it be a linear shooter at its core, but I really don't have a taste for this type of gameplay anymore. 5 enemies rushing me while I can barely move because the environment is too small while having to deal with cumbersome controls is not my idea of fun. Graphics look good though. |
There's a Black Friday sale on XBLA, Super Meat Boy is 400MSP. Oh dear.

I really hope they have a Christmas sale on Steam. I bought soo many games but they were so much cheaper :D
|
I've been trying to do at least one Binding of Isaac run a day. I'm yet to get a Mum Kill because I'm getting distracted by secrets and items and Deals With The Devil.
I just traded a heart with The Devil to find myself with the usable item We Need to Go Deeper, which allows you to summon a trapdoor to the next dungeon at any point. It's a pity I'm not good enough to take on The Caves 2 with a meagre 2 hearts. |

Currently doing Eve because she's shit, and I'll do Maggy last. Why? Did I not mention difficulty increases with every complete? :pipe: I acted as STM's mentor for a while, so I'll happily give you some pointers... EDIT: Steam has hundreds of games on sale (or more - some are bundles). Morrowind GOTY with Tribunal And Bloodmoon is £6.49, Crashpunk. They change every day, though. Myself, I just picked up both Mass Effects for £7.48. RE-EDIT: My fascinating life. http://img832.imageshack.us/img832/8963/33332105.png |

Anyway, I got Halo Anniversary. I'm loving it, experiencing CE again in the new graphics...Breathtaking. |
I played Rayman Origins with a friend of mine most of the night. We had a blast. We got 2 Tricky Treasures, beat two of the Kings and had an uncomfortable conversation about how humungous Gourmand Land's Nymph's tits were. They're real big.
Seriously, get the game. It's so worth it it hurts. |
I picked up the European exclusive Collector's Edition today. Only pictures will do it justice.
![]() It came with the special Collector's Edition boxing, a 50 page art book and the soundtrack. ![]() The Artbook ![]() A closeup of the packaging. ![]() The packaging folded into the case. The game is amazing so far. I've finished the first world and I'm loving every minute. It's like playing silk. The controls may take a little while to get used to, but it's worth it. The game has been reasonably straightforward so far, but things are starting to get challenging. No longer can I just hold the sprint button for the duration of a level. |
Its still a shame that the collectors edition isn't on Wii...:( Also I'm so glad your loving it Phylum, It makes to wanna buy it even more :D
|
Go buy it. It's one of the best platformers I've ever played. If it keeps on going how it is, it will overtake VVVVVV and the original Rayman to become the best platformer I've ever played.
That said, I haven't played Super Meat Boy yet. |
I have Super Meat Boy and Its frustrating to play, Its alright.
And my favorite platformer still has to be the original Super Mario Bros. |
:
I did give Sonic Generations a second try, but, I still think this game sucks... I'm not too sure what the general view is on it. I'm glad your enjoying Rayman Phylum, I've been looking forward to this game, I will be getting the normal edition tomorrow, makes me happy that I'm trading in MW3 for it :D |
I want Rayman Origins even more now. Problem is, I'm away from my Wii whilst at uni, so I would only be able to (briefly) play it at Christmas.
Oh, and for what it's worth, Super Meat Boy is really, really good. And also, Yoshi's Island might be the best platformer ever. |
It surprises me that so many people are actually really excited for Rayman Origins and are going to get it. That's a great thing. Count me in that bunch too, I'm definitely getting it for Christmas. :)
