Yeah, it was just missing something for me.

But I thought the alien parts were made really well, they didn't reveal too much, but sure as hell scared you. I guess you just have to believe what you believe happened.

Mac Sirloin 01-30-2011 07:18 PM

I watched the latter half of The 4th Kind on TV. It was kind of boring, but the 'alien' parts had some legit spookiness to them.

metroixer 01-30-2011 07:20 PM

Paranormal activity actually scared me because it hit a bit too close to home. A lot of the night sequences were like nightmares I had as a kid, and I couldn't sleep straight for like 2 weeks afterward.

I can totally understand why someone would find it boring though.

Mac Sirloin 01-30-2011 07:33 PM

That's what I thought when I actually watched Paranormal Activity. It was pretty much the opposite of frightening to me, but I was beyond terrified of Signs when I first saw that. Still kind of am, actually. So I figured it filled some sort of bizarre terror-niche.

Dynamithix 01-30-2011 07:51 PM

Signs is great, but the ending is really stupid in my opinion.

Mac Sirloin 01-30-2011 07:53 PM

True, but it was also the primary reason I got over my fear of Aliens...which I developed because of Signs anyway. It took a while.

No. Signs is bad. The ending would be good if it wasn't so stupid.

MeechMunchie 01-31-2011 01:44 AM

Signs is awful all the way through. This is not up for discussion. Everyone with half a mind knows that Signs is terrible.

I dimly remembered Anastasia from my childhood. Watched it.

If youre a fan of songs, memes, tropes or historical accuracy, you'll love this film. Did you know Rasputin was really an undead sorcerer?

Given that he survived several murder attempts, including being disembowelled, and that his 'final' death involved him being poisoned, shot four times, beaten with clubs and tossed in to a river before he eventually died of drowning... yes, your suggestion sounds plausible.

Wings of Fire 01-31-2011 02:21 AM

Obligatory post.

Sekto Springs 01-31-2011 03:13 AM

Jim Cummings filling the void yet again. I guess Christopher Lloyd is just too damn old to be singin' in kiddie shit.

That's exactly what I and everybody who watched that film thought.

Wait... they actually showed disembowelling in the film? Props to Fox Animation for that.

Terry Pratchett was right; 'disembowelling' is a great word.

I guess you just have to believe what you believe happened.

Unfortunately, everything in the film was fictional. The 'real' Abbey Taylor was in a film released shortly after. I was a bit disappointed tbh, but it still scared me in some parts.

Signs definitely scared me. The two scenes that got to me most was the Brazilian birthday and the "there's a monster outside my window," part, when there's actually that extraterrestrial bitch leaning on a chimney.

Gay ending.

This is how I felt too.

Yes! I just got a ticket for the Science-Fiction film festival. And I am going to see Solaris (1972) by Tarkovski on the big screen. + Natalya Bondarchuk will be there. (the red haired girl on the pictures.) I smell good chances to improve my flirt skills. really looking forward to this.

I saw this thriller called Dark Water yesterday and I thought it was stupid. The first hour of the movie was actually pretty entertaining because you don't really know anything about the movie and it's just basic people doing basic shit and then the fucking stupid plot hits.

A small dead whispering girl in a watertank filled with bloody black water and blah blah whispers and blah blah pop-up scares that aren't scary and blah blah divorced couple fighting over the child and blah blah blah.

^ Dark Water, in a nutshell.

Mr. Bungle 02-06-2011 03:28 PM

I saw Pulp Fiction yesterday, and Snatch on friday.

Both were amazing. Pulp Fiction might have been one of the most fucked-up and creative films I've seen in a while.

I had already seen Snatch, and I loved it even more the second time.

I really wanna watch this too. The description sounds really interesting.

Dixanadu 02-08-2011 09:50 AM

I still think people should watch Alien 3000.

They had to be taking the piss.

MeechMunchie 02-13-2011 05:42 AM

Shit, Napoleon Dynamite gets better every time I see it.

Dynamithix 02-13-2011 06:54 AM

I watched John Carpenter's The Thing yesterday. I lost count already how many times I've seen it, but it's amazing, what can I say!

kapteeni13 02-13-2011 07:03 AM

I watched previously movie called 'Final Destination'

Im not gonna see visions like in that movie :D

Dixanadu 02-13-2011 04:27 PM

The Thing terrified me as a child.

The scene where the guy tied to the chair metamorphosising into the...thing, still unnerve me.

Dynamithix 02-13-2011 07:33 PM

The blood test scene is still one of the intense ones for me.

Strike Witch 02-13-2011 10:58 PM

The bit with the guy's chest being a mouth gets me every time.

Mac Sirloin 02-14-2011 12:48 AM

I just watched two movies. One of them was Seven Samurai (The best movie ever) and the other was called Best of the Best 3.

And it was fucking good.

I won't bore you with a Seven Samurai review; if you haven't seen that shit already I'm just plain disappointed in you.

Best of The Best 3 is an action film about the small town of Liberty, Alabama. Liberty is overrun by crazy, violent skinheads who introduce themselves to the audience by not wearing shirts and burning down a church. An Asian man decides to show up and basically just kicks an atomic quantity of ass, including kicking three men off of dirtbikes at once. He also does some pretty sweet flips. Seriously, no sarcasm intended, it's a fantastic movie. It's also the third in some early-90's Action trilogy, therein cheap as fuck. Buy it.

Just kidding, you can watch all of it on Youtube right now for free. Also it has a subtitle I don't care about.

Wings of Fire 02-15-2011 11:30 AM

Oh my God Black Swan

Mac Sirloin 02-15-2011 03:07 PM
