:fuzblink: We're really, really sorry. :fuzblink: The stupid thing got me by surprise right as I came through and killed me, and then a second one got Hula when he came to investigate. Three of the pistons still work but the odd one in that screenshot is stuck open, and the outside lever is gone. I reckon the piston could be fixed quite easily but we didn't have any redstone on us; I've no idea how much damage was done to the lever. It was lucky Hula was quicker on his toes than I; he lured the second one away from the circuitry before it exploded, or else it might have been much worse.

In light of this, I think it wise to stick a sign on the inside of the gates, warning people to check for creepers as they go through, to discourage people from being as foolish as I was.

Perhaps a moat could be constructed outside the gates, so mobs can’t spawn close to them.

I think that's a good idea. DH needs to get sand from somewhere.

I fixed the gate in about 3 minutes, not much damage done so no problem - I sorta knew that'd happen.

To prevent this from happening again I've placed some fences around the front of the gate - At least now you'll be able to see a creeper approach you, allowing you to dispatch it before it blows another hole in my mechanisms.

So, who should I contact to get myself onto this server?

Oh right... I was supposed to send a PM to Havoc about you guys (Spandex and someone else I can't remember right now)? Maybe I did, I have to look it up. But nowadays, it's up to him who gets permission, so you should go biting his ears a bit if you want progress.

On another note, the server has been a bit quiet lately. I rarely see anyone on, there's not much of that good ol' cooperative joint effort for a certain goal going on. I had to reside to exploring a cave to counter this feeling (how effective it was is yet to be decided), and found another underground ravine west from Exodus. I also retrieved tons of coal, and put them in the Treasury for the perusal of the citizens.

I don't mind Spandex Pants on the server :P
And as for VF, I visited him today and we laughed about how ridiculous his whole issue was with him wanting to join the server and what you guys thought of him :P
But then he got on again while I was sleeping. It was pretty stupid but it's all funny to see how you guys didn't ban him up front :P He's not interested in Oddworld. All he wants is to get on the Minecraft server and we all know that's not gonna happen :P

I agree. I hardly get to catch anyone on as well, and I lack motivation. One of the lonliest things for me is caverning by myself. It's actually kinda depressing. All we need is another goal to keep us all going. We need a new idea.

I think we should hold weekly tournaments with prizes(spawned by admins upon agreement).

I was thinking of a fishing competition, but that's not exactly the most exciting idea. We could do a Spleef tournament though, Splat would probably approve for his creation (the arena) being used more than the occasional game of Spleef.

Well we could have all sorts of tournaments XD....

It's certainly different. There should also be a prize for winning the spleef/fishing/whatever else.

I like the idea of an archery tournament one Havoc build the archery range because I think I lag too much for Spleef.

And we could have like a high score board?
What about using the spleef arena as a pvp arena as well?

What i'd like to know if there's any mod that exists, that turns on friendly fire in a restricted area... Such that we can have real tournaments.

I think it’s because folks are often more worried about their own personal projects than anything else. Difficult to have co-operative efforts when everyone’s off doing their own thing.

Personally I love exploring underground more than I do building, and if anyone else wants to I’d be more than happy to go spelunking in a group.

Why don't we simply have PvP turned on? We're civilised enough to be trusted with it aren't we?

As for the server being quiet, when I've been on it's often been with other people. It's about normal to me - But then maybe I've been lucky despite me not being on for more than 2 hours a day.

Hey guys, I’ve noticed that every time I surface from the mines below Exoddus the town is mobbed with... well, mobs.

Now obviously one the wall is finished this won’t be as big a problem, but I’d like if folks could spend some time making sure everything is lit up properly. I’ve made a metric fuckton of torches that I’ll put in a chest in Town Hall if you need any.

People who have op powers need to help out, too—there’s some dark patches right around the spawn area that I couldn’t fix on my own.

Maybe its just my Minecraft Client but I can't log onto the server. The simple problem is that it says it is taking too long to log on?

I've restarted the server, log showed some errors when you tried to log in Crash. Try again.

Havoc, I seem to have the same problem as Wario. It's giving me the same message.

Yeah, Java freezes up and Minecraft then comes up with an error for me too.

I've updated Bucket to the latest version (#1337), maybe that fixes the problem. Otherwise I have no idea where this is coming from all of the sudden. Nothing has changed server side.

Edit: Working fine for me right now (as it was yesterday).

Edit2: Mr.Spandexpants has been allowed on the server. Show him around when you see him.

According to the Yogscast Facebook page, minecraft.net and the authentication servers are down right now, so that may be the issue.

Could they be spawning on roofs?

A lot of rooftops are built out of stairs, so torches can’t be placed on them. I’m not sure if mobs can spawn on stair blocks, but I’m guessing they can’t.
