Thanks, but I think I'm going to stop playing TF2 for now, way too complicated.

In terms of Gameplay, it hasn't changed that much since it first came out, they've only added stuff.

Manco 04-08-2011 04:16 PM

"It hasn't changed much, they just added things"

Anyway, I played through Portal today to show it off to a couple of friends. They spent the entire time complaining about it.

I guess it's not a social game.

Dixanadu 04-08-2011 05:17 PM

I watched Ridg3 complete it in just under an hour.

Fuck, that cunt loves to gloat.

Ridg3 04-08-2011 05:18 PM

Not even my best time either I believe.

Gwan-Thwei 04-08-2011 05:27 PM

I just got a copy of Silent Hill 2.
This.
Game.
Sucks.
Balls.
The story so far sucks, and the way you move the person sucks, and how you have to observe everything to get to the next area sucks.
Demons aren't half bad though. Adn the graphics are decent. I don't know, what do you guys think about Silent Hill games?

You're doing it again.

Okayish. I remember a game I played on the Xbox, ObsCure. It put itself apart from Resi/S-Hill horrors and was pretty good and damn scary at times.

Only drawback was it was very short. 3-4 hours, give or take.

Wings of Fire 04-08-2011 08:17 PM

Silent Hill games are okayish?

You've been playing the wrong ones, my friend.

No.

What.
Good.
Is.

Dynamithix 04-09-2011 01:17 AM

I remember trying Silent Hill: Home-something, I can't remember, but I thought it was pretty shitty. The older Silent Hills were pretty scary though.

Wings of Fire 04-09-2011 04:04 AM

Yeah, anything after 3 isn't a real Silent Hill game.

2>1>3>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Everything else

Ridg3 04-09-2011 05:28 AM

I've never played any of the Silent Hill games at all, should I start with 2 or 1? Is it a continuous story?

Wings of Fire 04-09-2011 05:43 AM

1 and 3 follow the same continuity, 2 is a side story.

2 is a must play, but 1 and 3 are also really really great.

Dynamithix 04-09-2011 06:29 AM

Is 4 any good? (Or whatever it's called. Was it 'The Room' or something?)

OANST 04-09-2011 06:46 AM

Someone hasn't been paying attention.

Disgruntled Intern 04-09-2011 07:00 AM

I liked The Room. It wasn't as good as the rest, but still enjoyable. And fairly creepy.

Homecoming for the 360 is a total turd, though. Don't even think about that one.

Wings of Fire 04-09-2011 07:01 AM

4 has some genuinely good moments, and a lot of quite clever ideas but ultimately bad pacing, difficulty and repetition kill it.

The second half of the game being the first half chased by an invincible pistol wielding freak with mommy issues is a good idea in principle but....

OANST 04-09-2011 07:14 AM

No. You said it was bad.

Wings of Fire 04-09-2011 08:47 AM

It is bad.

But it could have been good.

Crashpunk 04-09-2011 08:53 AM

Played Time Splitters 2 last night.

Its fucking amazing, brings back good memories however I don't remember it being so fricking hard to controll!

Dynamithix 04-09-2011 09:07 AM

Almost finished with RDR, I'm in the final missions now.

Goddamn I'm enjoying it now!

Disgruntled Intern 04-09-2011 09:30 AM

Avatar Adventurers Online. I generally shy away from the indie games on XBLA just...because, but this one is so bad it's good. It's an MMORPG that uses your dashboard avatar, costs 240 points, and has pretty much every feature an MMO should, minus a subscription fee and decent graphics. Fun to play with friends.

I honestly went from playing Vanilla TF2 on my 360 to the PC version (within a week of them adding the trading system/Store) with no problems. Just read the Wiki.

Gwan-Thwei 04-09-2011 02:48 PM

Dino Run. Got through the Inasnity Challenge and collected all the eggs, now I'm just hanging around to collect the trophies.

okay that was dumb, It has changed. changed for the better.

I just checked out the demo for AudioSurf, and then immediately went and bought it. It's very fun.

It's on sale on Steam right now if you haven't already bought it.

Dynamithix 04-10-2011 06:30 AM

I just beat Red Dead Redemption. Wow.

Sadly, I knew that John Marston was going to die in the end because my friend (Who's a dickhead sometimes) spoiled it for me, but none the less, I thought the ending itself was really bad. John could have got away, but he just went there and died. I wasn't expecting that at first. I thought the final mission would've been a big fight against Dutch and John would've died in there. That would've been better in my opinion.

Anyways, RDR was definitely hands down one of the best games I've ever played, now I just gotta beat the Undead Nightmare DLC and I'm done with RDR. (I've had it since October but haven't got around playing it much.)

Damn right. That's one if the few games I actually play these days.

I don't know what I'm supposed to do in that crafting thing either, I have 2 scrap metal and some guns, that's it! Gosh, TF2 is so weird now. Back in '08 it was fun as hell when playing as the sniper in custom maps, now I'm just surrounded by freaky looking soldiers and heavies with golden miniguns and afro-hats.

Your pain

I feel it

What the hell took you so long? I'm here yammering about that game every other week.

So who's your favourite character? For me: Mono Pro, then Eraser Pro, then Double Vision (Casual)

DV is a seriously overlooked character. TREMBLE BEFORE MY MULTITASKING ABILITY

I've never really put much stock in music games before. I'm still not entirely sure why I tried the demo, but I don't regret it.

My favourite character is Mono Pro as well! I'm not very good at tracking all the other character's weird abilities, and just having one colour to pay attention to is much less frustrating.

e: Also, I'm hankering for a simple, fun (and cheap) FPS that I can run on my terrible PC. I don't fancy something like Half-Life, just something shooty and full of explosions. I was thinking of Far Cry, but any suggestions are welcome.

simple, fun (and free) FPS that you can run in your browser

http://www.quakelive.com/

Manco 04-10-2011 02:04 PM

Hm, I'm not really after a multiplayer FPS right now, but Quake Live looks interesting; I've bookmarked that site for later.

MeechMunchie 04-10-2011 02:31 PM

Well try Deus Ex then. It's pretty much the pinnacle of the pre-Source singleplayer FPS. Or one of the System Shocks.

EDIT: Wow, can't believe I forgot Call of Cthulhu. Though that's far from 'simple'.

Gwan-Thwei 04-10-2011 02:51 PM

This shitty ass flash game that dares to call itself a silent hill game.
NGH.
No demons, no riddles, and the twist ending was that the main charector was the murderer that killed his family (who he was just talking to minutes ago)

Deus Ex has been on my list for a long time, I think I'll get it downloaded tomorrow (it's quite late here, no point starting a new game now).

Call of Cthulhu looks pretty interesting too, I'll have to look at that sometime.

thiago-mg 04-10-2011 05:20 PM

I'm making a Re-make of Abe's Oddysee on LittleBigPlanet2 :). You can see the Beta of the GameSpeak already :). My PSN is: thiagomagnogomes
I hope you enjoy :D

Watch out for bugs. It's one of the few times when some torrented versions are of a higher quality than the released game.

Any Quake game. 3 is essentially QL, which is free. Try 4 if you want more story stuff. My favourite single-player wise is 2.

DN3D is good fun, too.

CrissCross 04-11-2011 12:54 AM

I just got this gae called crysis 2 and its fucking intense!!!
although im not that far through

OANST 04-11-2011 06:44 AM

You're a gae.
