I can't understand what they're saying. All I hear is "Fuck........motherfucker...........fucking..................fuck.............fuck.........motherfuck er".
The rest is inaudible.

I watched Natural Born Killers yesterday...

Amazing film, although the black and white violence in the prison was a tad OTT

Have started watching The Wire. GOD DAMN.

Yeah, it's pretty good. Goes downhill after season two, but still worth watching.

The movie is meh. Great if you dig Oliver Stone's style, not so much if you're sitting down just to kill some time. Probably Woody's best performance, next to The People VS Larry Flynt.

AlexFili 05-19-2009 11:07 AM

"Fuck........motherfucker...........fucking..................fuck.............fuck.........motherfuck er."

Sounds like either;
- One of 50 Cent's songs
- An extract from Reservoir Dogs

MA 05-19-2009 11:13 AM

i'm not keen on 50p

been watching the 3rd series of X-Files. alright i spose, but i wish they'd drop the fucking music, its constant.

it doesnt add tension, it just makes it bloody harder to hear what they're saying.

According to TVTropes.

AlexFili 05-19-2009 11:25 AM

-Are you gonna bark all day little doggie? Or are you gonna bite?

X-Files was an awesome show!

MA 05-19-2009 01:39 PM

HA, +rep for that WoF.

@AlexFili: i just watched 'The Pusher', pretty good. they get better as the series goes on.
also the one where the townsfolk are somehow being given LSD and they all go on a killer hallucinogenic trip. thats quite good too.

ArtemisPanthar 05-19-2009 01:44 PM

The last movie I saw was "The Uninvited". I actually quite liked it as I expected to hate it. However, I may've thought differently if I had seen the Korean film "A Tale of Two Sisters" its remade from. But who knows.
I'm an avid movie watcher so no doubt I'll be back to this thread in a few days with the next movie I watched :)

The last show I intentionally watched was the latest episode of "In Plain Sight". But I watch that every week so.

Mac Sirloin 05-19-2009 02:48 PM

I watched Hotel For Dogs on the weekend. The ending was a fallacy of logic and a financial nightmare. SPUNKY BLACK GIRL #63228 got old quick and the "SPCA ARE EVIL" attitude is one of those things that I'm really sick of seeing, especially after working in the "Used animal" business.

Also watched some Lupin III movie about a Nanobot island made of gold. It kicked ass.

Alcar 05-19-2009 03:53 PM

I am currently watching the first season of Gossip Girl... Don't shoot me! I'm a fag!

Alcar...

It would be a mercy killing

Wings of Fire 05-21-2009 04:57 PM

Just saw Origin, Spirit of the Past. Was like Nausicaa crossed with Steamboy, with a walking volcano for good measure.

Also a guy punches out a meteor, if that isn't the walking embodiment of the Rule of Cool I don't know what is.

Havoc 05-21-2009 05:27 PM

Saw Angels and Demons in the theater. Good stuff.

Hmm, that sounds interesting, Wof. I wonder why I haven't heard about it in the US.

Wings of Fire 05-21-2009 05:36 PM

I just saw it in HMV today for £8 in the sale while buying camping equipment, I was going to buy Grave of the Fireflies but the anime crossed with CGI style on the back intrigued me.

Hobo 05-24-2009 09:32 AM

Right, put TV talk in the TV thread, keep this for films and plays and shit.

Taken. Crappy film. I have no idea why Liam Neeson took the role.

I just saw two episodes of "Ashes to Ashes". What a load of shit compared to "Life on Mars".

Yeah your right, i still enjoy watching ashes to ashes but life on mars was the best. Gene Hunt is brilliant.

ArtemisPanthar 05-30-2009 08:57 AM

Saw "Up" yesterday. It was quite great

Anonyman! 05-30-2009 07:21 PM

Fuck the new terminator.

Fuck the new terminator.

You have to say one thing about it, though.

It was easily the Loudest Black and White Film I've every seen.

Hazel-Rah 06-02-2009 08:57 AM

I liked it, sure it was no T2 but I thought it was atleast better than T3. Plus how could you not love Arnie's cameo?

joshkrz 06-02-2009 02:36 PM

ive just seen "The Children", that is some wierd film but it was really good in its own way

He was CG. Arnold does not have the power of eternal youth.

ArtemisPanthar 06-02-2009 04:45 PM

Just saw "MirrorMask". It was pretty damn rad.

Mac Sirloin 06-02-2009 07:52 PM

It was good but so abstract it hurt. The book is pretty much written exactly as how the move goes, if I remember.

well obviously, but it was still pretty awesome

Ah yes, it was very abstract. I was focusing almost completely on the art direction and such, which was stunning. That's usually what I focus on in any movie I watch so the abstractness didn't really bother me. However, some of the people watching with me became totally uninterested partway through because it was too difficult to follow.

Anonyman! 06-04-2009 09:04 PM

MirrorMask is wonderful. Labyrinth is better, but David Bowie. David Bowie.

I saw Up. I cried like a bitch.
Ok, I didn't cry. But I was sniffling and shit. Eyes watery as a motherfucker. Werd. Also it was funny.

OddjobAbe 06-07-2009 03:16 AM

I just turned on Muppets Take Manhatten. I then turned it off. It's like someone wrote a film and said "Alright, this isn't going to sell well. Let's replace this character, this one and this one with muppets, and it'll sell like hot cakes.". Kermit has yet to wiggle his arms and run. It's complete shit.

Laser 06-07-2009 03:44 AM

I watched The Terminator for the first time yesterday, damn that is one good film

MA 06-07-2009 05:06 AM

The Terminator is class, and the second one. dont like the third though.

I like the third one for the action sequences. It was pretty bad either way but really disappointing compared to Judgement Day.

MA 06-07-2009 11:24 AM

yeah, T2 was frankly classic, in my opinion. having a terminator on the good guys side was interesting, and it was good to watch him kick the bad guys arse. i didnt really like the cyborg he was fighting, which probably helped me cheer on the good guys.

i hated the fucking ending. it was sad.

Mac Sirloin 06-07-2009 02:29 PM

That's the staple of the series, though. All the movies end with some sort of Heroic Sacrifice.

If anyone watched The Marine (That John Cena action movie) there's a scene where the villain, played by Robert Patrick, has one of his henchmen ask him "What are you the Terminator or somethin'?". And Patrick just gives him this looks from the car mirror.

Come to think of it, he's made a lot of jokes about his role about the T-1000 in movies...

Strike Witch 06-08-2009 03:02 AM

I think the third one has two awesome moments, the first being the queer-as-fuck stripper glasses, and the psychiatrist going "IT'S HAPPENING AGAIN" and freaking out.

Anonyman! 06-08-2009 08:57 AM

ARNOLDS CALVES WERE HUGE

Al the Vykker 06-08-2009 09:44 AM

I wasn't really impressed by Terminator Salvation. Unfortunate, as I had very high expectations and upon hearing Christian Bale channel his Batman voice into a few scenes as John Connor...need I say more?

On the other hand, I had really no expectations for Up since I felt Wall-E is one of Pixar's best animated films. However, I would have to say it turned out to exceed my expectations on multiple levels and ranks high up out of any of their previous films.

MA 06-08-2009 12:42 PM

i recently bought Hellraiser 1, 2 & 3 on DVD and just finished watching the first one.

it finally got going after the first hour (baring in mind it was only 90 mins long), but the Cenobites appearance was the one saving grace of the film. i assume the others will be better and concentrate more on the Cenobites.
