If I remember rightly, you can only place an electric fence on a screen that originally had one.

But, I see in skychase lvl there is an electric wall below the second cam, but below the second cam, originally, there is no cam so no electric wall :/

I used Paul's level extractor and builder to put r2.lvl cams into f2.lvl so I could put electric walls everywhere I want.

Download Paul's LVLBuilder and LVLextractor.

1- You copy r2.lvl in LVLex

2-Open Extract.bat in Notepad/Bloc-notes(fr)

You'll see something like this:

Extract ??.lvl
pause

*??= the level you want to extract (r1, r2, e1, l1, d1, d2, d7, f1, f2, f4, e2, r2 or r6)

3-Enter the ??.lvl of your choice.

Let's say r2.lvl

4-Find this file: R2P01C02.CAM (because this cam has electric walls in it)

5-Copy it and paste it in LVLBuild

6-Delete everything in LVLex except Extract.exe and Extract.bat

7-Repeat step 2 and 3 but this time, choose the .lvl which needs electric walls

Let's say f2.lvl

8-Copy all the files except Extract.exe, Extract.bat and f2.lvl

9-Paste them in LVLBuild\f2 (make a folder with the name of the level in the LVLBuild folder)

10-Quoting Paul's "Read me" file:

"Right click the MakeLVL.bat and change "r1" to the name of the folder you just copied, and change "r1.lvl" to what you want the new .lvl file to be saved as."

So, open MakeLVL.bat with Notepad/Bloc-notes and you'll see this:

builder.exe r1 r1.lvl
pause

------------------edit it like this -----------------------

builder.exe f2 f2.lvl
pause

11- Rename "R2P01C02.CAM" with the name of the cam you want to replace or just rename it... ex:F2P01C10 (because it doesn't exist)

12-Drag it in the "f2" folder.

13-Run MakeLVL.bat

That's it. You now have a new f2.lvl with the new cam that contains electric walls. If you replace an existing cam, the FG1 layer will be replaced too.

Finally, change the CAM Id for the cam number (ex: F2P01C10 = Id: 110)

Mountains is already done, there's no train cam in bonewerkz for now, I'll add it to path 1 soon.

it's meant to be hard to find ;)
(if you look closely you can see the platform's been bent downwards)

Good level xXxrenhoekxXx, I found the feeco level without looking at the video however that bent floor is very easy to miss :P

The only other qualms I had were that the save points could have been better spaced IMO.

I was wondering if it was possible to make an oddworld game similar to Metroid style using the level editor? Such as you explore the world and find ways to break into factories and finding switches to turn off electric walls so you can deeper into the factories/barracks/breweries?

Yes that would be possible, but it would take a long time to make probably. Would probably have to be made with r2.lvl because in terms of space to work with that is the biggest .lvl file.

Using switches with Id values over 255 (if I remember correctly), you could activate electric walls from another level (I think I read something about this from Paul a long time ago, correct me if i'm wrong ^^). So yeah, it would probably be possible but the level select cheat would be useless then.

Edit: And the muds would come back each time you reenter a level, making the status board useless too....

I think the best way to get round the mudokons from returning is to do a Feeco hub, however that would prevent back tracking as you would have to permanently close doors when the area is completed so the status board wouldn't become useless. But it would be slightly annoying if you missed a hidden switch to save all muds in the final factory.

Sky I do a test and it's possible ! :) Don't miss to do a sort of executive office in BW with a switch/slig security phone and I will give you the ID to use wich can deactive an electric wall. And to access in Rupturefarm you have to finish :
