The wonderful thing is that even those who do not wish to throw their money at EA will probably not be interested in playing Sims4
|
|
That looks 100% exactly like my kind of thing.
Will support when I get my next JSA. |
Here's a three-part article about why the game is brilliant. Contains spoilers.
|
That was actually a pretty fascinating read. I learned two things:
1. The game is amazing. 2. I will never possess the patience to play it. |
Double Fine Double Post Time:
Hack 'N' Slash leaves early access today! Full game is now released! Video is related to this! |
A quick glance on Torment: Tides of Numenera pre-alfa gameplay |

This looks promising |

They're combinations of effects, and presumably pretty end-game.
Also I'm guessing with so much more variety in attack combinations the game might be a tad harder, or longer, or something to balance it out. |
|
That looks like a surprisingly well designed game.
|
Regardless, I'm getting sick to death of the trend.
|
I was going to do an "inb4" but I figured I was safe here.
What trend is this, CP? The trend of thinking outside the box? The trend of making silly video games? There's nothing alarming here. It just so happens that digital distribution makes it easy for people to slap a price tag on what they've made. |
Crashpunk just hates bread
|
I know what CP's thinking - that this is another post-Goat Simulator glitchfest designed to be entertaining just long enough for PewDiePie to get a shrieky video out of it, and mind-numbingly tedious after that.
My response to that would be that this is developed by Bossa Studios, creators of Surgeon Simulator 2013, the progenitor of the entire trend and thereby the last game of its kind to be put together without being rushed. It might be a wacky physics game, but it's made by people who know how to do them properly. Also, it's closer to Octodad than anything else, and last I heard that game was generally accepted as "simple but fun". |
I never said it looked bad. It's just those sorta games do not appeal to me. Goat Simulator put me off them entirely. Which isn't very fair on the others, but it left such a bad taste in my mouth. Fucking atrocious game.
And what you said Meech. "PewDie Bait" games. |
How can Goat Simulator put you off a game that's nothing like it, though? This looks like a cross between Octodod and Mount Your Friends. Do either of those games annoy you?
|
No. Because I've never played either of those games. I know what your thinking, How can you judge without playing.
Well. I do know however that idea behind Octodad, Surgeon Simulator and Mount your Friends is that it's got frustrating consoles on purpose. I've seen a few videos and they all don't appeal to me at all. You can tell if you dislike an idea for a game just by watching gameplay. But it all falls under that same category for me. Physics-based indie game with a "funny" idea behind it. And I just don't like them. |
Goat Simulator is dumb because it was never intended as a commercial game. Do I need to remind everyone that it was an internal tech demo that the team decided to make a video of, and then received an overwhelming response that people wanted to play it?
But hey if you don't like silly physics-based games you don't like silly physics-based games. It's funny that you mention them having frustrating controls though, because I get 100x more frustrated at the physics in serious games. It's the reason that I never finished Limbo. Even Source pisses me off at times. |
Most Ragdoll physics are an exception for me.
The amount of times I've burst out laughing after seeing someone fly through the air or glitch out in TF2 or Gmod. |
Id say the only game within the next few months Im looking forward to is KIngdom Hearts 2 HD.
|
|
Now tell me what the hell is this game.
|
Your mother.
+5 Damage |
I hope you mean my mom is a "social justice warrior" by that.
In that case, fuck you. |
Trigger warning: Varrock's mom.
|
oh no, I *ain't* gonna be negrepped again!
... I just wanted to say that the game looks really pretentious. Which is probably the reason why the video has that many dislikes. |
