Reminds me of the early Munch tech demos somehow with the paramites. |
That looks pretty sexy, can't wait to see some ingame material.

Ah right.
EDIT: That's damned impressive in that case, then. Good choice, JAW! |
You can also download Stone Giant as a benchmark/demo to test out the engine. It’s linked in the video description.

From earlier in the thread, for those who weren't paying attention:

Also, where did you get that camera flythrough demo?! I haven't got that and it would be very bloody helpful! EDIT: Oh, nevermind, it's just some random guys entry to a comp. I thought I'd written a spline following function for nothing! |
I'm so glad Abe's Exoddus is getting a remake. Just Add Water. You really are the best :D
Dunno if this has been answered, but are you going to remake or remaster the original FMV's? Touch them up a bit or something using today's tech?
They'll be rendered in realtime. That way we can do all sorts of awesome things, not least seamless switching between cut-scenes and gameplay.
You guys had better make the transitions in Monsaic Lines amazing. Those were my favourite parts of the game back when I was a kid.
Hell, Monsaic Lines is my favourite place in the entire series, I will personally pull all your faces off if justice is not done.
Also...will we get to see some pictures or anything soon? And by soon, I mean, within the coming months. |
:
-seamless transition back to gameplay- Really though, seeing what I've now seen of Bitsquid Tech, I think this might be the first time in a long while I've awaited a single screenshot of a game so eagerly. |

So...you're going to show us pictures tomorrow. You better show me pictures Wil, I don't care what of, I just want pictures...
I'll send them to you privately if you sign a contract agreeing not to call the police.
I want to see Stockyards. I loved that area so much.
I think publicly over facebook would be far more impressive Wil.

We need to send a nubile young sedcutor into JAW and compromise Wil
Don't look at me like that. |
Question:- Just bought the Art of Oddworld Inhabitants 1994-2004 book and on page 56, I found a still HD image of Abe waxing the floor past the product posters "We used to make Meech Munchies...etc' Its incredibly sharp and clear.
I dunno if you guys have got a copy of the book knockin' around the office at J.A.W but if you do, is that the kind of quality the cutscenes will be like in Abe HD? *crosses both paws * ^___^ |

Some textures from StoneGiant demo looks kinda low-res - is it the limitation of engine (i hope not) or Bitsquid thinking it's not that important?
Also, i saw a post earlier about "Slig Banter" where enemies could engage in idle chit-chat. Does that mean Lorne could provide extra dialogue or could you have dedicated fans that can mimic the voices of Sligs to do extra dialogue?
Because I would LOVE to contribute ! :D ...but...ya know..just thinking outloud, heh heh .... |
I actually quite like that idea. Give something back to your loyal fans... Unless Sligs are supposed to all sound the same.
I'd really hope they'd use professional voice actors unless they find fans who are exceptional at voice acting... And that's unlikely.
I hope they keep using Lorne’s VO skills wherever possible. I think he’s got one of the most versatile voices in the business, and his rendition of Abe is the only one I could accept.
And Lorne Lanning was not a professional voice actor.
Bear in mind that it was Josh Gabriel who did the voices for Abe in AO. If the voices are re-done by Lorne, Abe will sound like he did in AE and Munch.
