Isn't the FUD reporter bald?

Jordan 03-28-2009 10:13 AM

Yes, he is. Looks ridiculously funny too. :p

Well there are two kinds of free Mudokon seen in AO and AE. Those Abe frees from slavery, and those that are monks and helpers. For the former, untying their ponytails may not be their highest priority, so they will untie them, but later. The latter may be keeping their ponytails for the same reasons Abe is: as a kind of symbolic reminder of the Mudokons’ oppressed history.

Or maybe that was just mudokon fashion in the nineties.

moxco 03-30-2009 06:39 PM

Quetion:

All mudokons come from Sam. Sam gives all her babies to the Magog Cartle. So where do wild muds come from?

Sanssouci 03-30-2009 06:46 PM

They grow on trees

Wil 03-31-2009 02:16 AM

They are escapees or hatched from stolen eggs.

AlexFili 03-31-2009 02:33 AM

I have a request. Does anyone have any pictures/info about the "Slig Health Chart" or "Slig Status Chart"?

You sure this has been confirmed? As far as I remember, there could still be more queens (though they could also be enslaved by the Glukkons).

Wil 03-31-2009 04:44 AM

The only species that has multiple queens confirmed are Sligs (although Paramites too, probably). Earlier texts had implied (though not stated) that Skillya is the only Slig queen, so possibly the multiple competing Slig queens is a later addition to the mythology. Maybe this means there are more Mudokon queens than Sam, but I suspect there is only one Mudokon queen and one Glukkon queen (not counting those in suspended animation).

AlexFili 03-31-2009 05:44 AM

I also suspect there is only one active queen at one time. However, Mudos is quite a big place, so there could possibly be other queens out there. Either Natively or Industrially.
Paramites also have queens, so there should be quite a few of those too.

Nate 03-31-2009 04:27 PM

From here (six paragraphs down):
:

Mudokons are a superspecies. All the employees in the factories are actually related—they’re from the same mother. There’s a few of these queens around but they’ve actually been dying.

moxco 03-31-2009 05:56 PM

So the other queens are wild?

Nate 03-31-2009 07:38 PM

Presumably, yes. Those that are still alive.

d0mm2k8 04-22-2009 08:05 AM

I'm not sure if this can be answered but ah well :P. Has there ever been any offical mention of Oddworld countries and not just continents? The Oddworld map obviously outlines borders but I don't think I've heard any mention of countries (unless Fangustan counts :p)

Xavier 04-22-2009 08:28 AM

I'm pretty sure Fangustan is the only country mentioned so far...

d0mm2k8 04-22-2009 01:28 PM

Ah ok, thanks. Just thought that it's weird to name a continent but not it's countries.

Wings of Fire 04-22-2009 01:44 PM

No issues in Oddworld pertaining to international politics have really been explored yet. Doubtless we'll learn about national affairs when we get there.

d0mm2k8 04-22-2009 02:12 PM

Yea - when we finally get there.

I don't know if this could be classed as off-topic but I found this on a review for Abe's Oddysee
:

Oddworld. This planet is known to be 10 times the size of the Earth. Some say it is too big to be fully explored by any one being; even the countries are way too big to know everything on. Well, there is one particular country that is probably the smallest of them all. On Mudania, Mudokons are the most populated species here...
Mudania? Sounds even less imaginative then calling a species 'Interns'... :D
But seriously, why did the reviewer make this unimaginative name?

Q: Is there any specific reason why Paramites sounded like, err, Paramites in AO & AE but sounded like pigs in MO?

AlexFili 04-22-2009 02:14 PM

They were either placeholder sounds or just random sounds plugged in due to the problematic development schedule. I don't think we're likely to know.

Either poor decision making skills or drugs are to blame. Who can say which?

He's confused with Mudos, which is a small continent.

if you have some questions about Oddworld, look here, and if they dont answer your questions, post them on Oddworld Questions & Answers VII which is located in the Oddworld Discussion. someone there will answer your questions.

no need to make a thread about it, but dont worry, we all make mistakes. :D

bobtheguy 05-04-2009 02:24 PM

Is Sam a girl mudokon, also why would she give all her babies away to people who are gonna turn them into slaves, and eat them? also what happens to abe and munch after munch's oddysey?

Munch isn't in Abe's Oddysee, so I believe you mean Munch's Oddysee. After MO, the events of MO GBA occur. Not sure what those events are, as I haven't played it yet.

The only known female Mudokon is Sam, the Mudokon queen. This also occurs with other species, such as Sligs and Glukkons, with Skillya and Maggie.

OWI have just taken a break from making games. Lorne wanted to move onto the movie making industry and is working on Citizen Siege, a non-Oddworld film and an unknown Oddworld film, which will continue the Oddworld Quintology. He also plans on releasing games to go with these films, hopefully.

Hope that helped, ask in Oddworld Questions & Answers in future.

Read the following: http://oddworldlibrary.net/oddblog/s...en_Abe_and_Sam

also what happens to abe and munch after munch's oddysey?
They're on holidays, drinking mojitos on the beach in the Mudosian Riviera.

Xavier 05-04-2009 11:10 PM

I merged the two threads together... for those who were wondering why bobtheguy asked exactly the same questions

Rayrockslots 05-26-2009 07:57 AM

Are they ever gonna release Oddworld: Munch's Oddsyee or Stanger's Wrath as an xbox original in the Xbox Live market place? I want em!

Xavier 05-26-2009 09:08 AM

OWI is suspected to work on some port for PC that's going to be released on Steam

abe is now! 05-27-2009 06:27 AM

Are there any Sligs in the nature?
