I dislike the style. Especially with GLaDOS

:

I quite like GLaDOS, simply because I associate her so much with her "giant machine/upside-down figure in bondage" look that it's difficult for me to picture anything else.
Look again, it's not made that way, the "eye" is in her torso

Wings of Fire 06-12-2012 08:59 AM

Same

Also there's no value in saying 'Humanzing anything is unoriginal' because HUMANITY HAS BEEN ANTHROPOMORPHIZING OBJECTS AND CONCEPTS FOR THOUSANDS OF YEARS YOU IDIOT

JESUS CHRIST

If this was a blog post/double posts were allowed, my next three posts would read

'I mean serioisly'
'For fuck sakes'
'Fuck'

MeechMunchie 06-12-2012 09:00 AM

Oh, I don't like the image as a whole. I just saw it the other day and felt Nepsotic's post could use an example. The appeal of the characters comes from the fact that they're computers, no doubt about that. I mean, they're already anthropomorphic in that they act like humans; Making them look like humans too kind of destroys the point.

Nepsotic 06-12-2012 09:08 AM

Thatsa better way of putting it, yes. And don't get me wrong, these people have talent, it just gets boring.

Sekto Springs 06-12-2012 09:12 AM

:I

Nepsotic 06-12-2012 09:20 AM

Oh, come on, doesn't it annoy you, just a little bit? Shouldn't they be using their talents on real pony art?http://img.ponibooru.org/_images/d32...ht_sparkle.jpg

Sekto Springs 06-12-2012 09:23 AM

No, because I think humanizing them provides for more artistic interpretation. Though I haven't seen very much pony fanart, humanized or otherwise, that was very good.

Nepsotic 06-12-2012 09:32 AM

The ponies themselves have all the necessary features for personification, and I think humanizing them takes away their main aspect. They're ponies. And sometimes you forget that when watching the show because of how well they're personified by the voice actors and animators.

Sekto Springs 06-12-2012 09:34 AM

You're missing the point. It's fan art. It doesn't have to make sense, it's done for fun.

Nepsotic 06-12-2012 09:39 AM

Fair enough. Talking of fan stuff, this is beautiful (and thats not a word I usually use to describe something)
Crepuscularity (Twilight Sparkle's Theme)

Sekto Springs 06-12-2012 09:44 AM

I like it, but it doesn't really feel "MLP" to me.

STM 06-12-2012 09:49 AM

And it's definitely not 'beautiful'.

Varrok 06-12-2012 09:52 AM

It's got to be the most generic theme I've ever seen heard

Nepsotic 06-12-2012 09:55 AM

I like it, I don't know what it is about it. It does remind me of Twilight, but I also agree with what Sekto said.

Sekto Springs 06-12-2012 09:57 AM

I don't dislike it. I have a soft spot for distant twangy guitars. Reminds me of warm summer sunsets, driving in a convertible with the top down. It's just not very MLP. Music like that would stand better on it's own if it wasn't tied to things that already have a very established musical atmosphere.

Then again, inspiration comes from everywhere, and if this is what the artist heard in his head when he thought "Twilight Sparkle", then that's fine.

Nepsotic 06-12-2012 10:01 AM

A strange thing is, when Twilight sees her future self visit her, the underscore is completely different to other MLP music. Its also one of my favourite peices of music from the show, though sadly there is no MLP underscore available for download.

Sekto Springs 06-12-2012 10:04 AM

It's because that episode was an amalgamation of movie references, so the score had to reflect that.
The score in MLP is actually quite varied, but that's typical of cartoon soundtracks.

Nepsotic 06-12-2012 10:24 AM

Is there no rips of the MLP score anywhere, like there is with the soundtrack? I also like the music from the episode where twilight goes insane, its strangely disturbing.

Mac Sirloin 06-12-2012 10:49 AM

It's all pretty fucking terrible, yeah.

Nope, and naturally the Brony community isn't too thrilled about it.

I, personally, am still pissed off that no OST for Courage the Cowardly Dog was ever released.

Nepsotic 06-12-2012 10:56 AM

By your tone I'm guessing that there isn't one being planned for release either :( (I never use emoticons, thats how sad I am)

STM 06-12-2012 11:09 AM

How sad. D=

Wings of Fire 06-12-2012 11:13 AM

;_ ;

Varrok 06-12-2012 11:13 AM

I'm crying tears :'(

Nepsotic 06-12-2012 11:21 AM

^Title
I'm allowed to be sad about these things here >:(! If you don't like it, go elsewhere.:3 that was me pretending to use emoticons a lot.

On another note, I'm still kind of pissed that Havoc's still got Twi. This is also sad.

STM 06-12-2012 11:23 AM

No one said you weren't allowed to be sad, we were just proclaiming how truly sad the whole ruddy affair is!

Go advanced and tick disable smilies in text and you won't look so stupid when you do that.

Like so

OANST 06-12-2012 11:30 AM

Hey, guys. Remember when this place was cool, and wasn't ruled by a bunch of ultra-nerdy fuck suckers who splooged over baby cartoons all the time?

Me either. Carry on.

Nepsotic 06-12-2012 12:49 PM

Damn

I think this thread is dying, well, I guess the last thing to say is that

Twilight is best pony

Rainbow Dash follows.

Sekto Springs 06-12-2012 01:09 PM

You know, I really don't think Havoc will mind if you set Twilight as your avatar. I'm sure he misses his pervy-faced tiger.
