Honestly, fuck that Scott Pilgrim movie. I think meechmunchie perfectly summed up some of its flaws, but I feel more strongly about them. Maybe because there are a group of fans that won't shut up about it being so fucking cool and so fucking hipster.

All of those except Scary Movie 3 American Pie: The Wedding I got pirated (I wasn't the one that got them) my stepdad has a friend who gets them for him.

Although I have seen Scary Movie 3 and American Pie: The Wedding already.

All good movie choices there :)

American Pie is a fucking pile of useless, brain-numbing, plant-withering wank. honestly, it's fucking shit. i didn't even like it when i was in school. even saying the title irritates me. so fucking shite.

Agreed. I'm also not that big of a fan of the Scary Movies as well.

I watched a little film called Alien Abduction. It's sort of a fake docudrama type thing done up paranormal activity-style with a low budget and mimicing several hallmarks of UFO stuff.

It was actually quite enjoyable. The alien costumes weren't too good but they avoided that being a problem by keeping them out of shot as much as possible, also the actors are great at faking panic and fear. Also the missing time and camera parts were very well-done, and I loved how they used a sort of pixelation effect to let you know when the camera footage was being tampered with.

My bro got two films from HMV last night called outcast and Screamers, they were both great but screames was better.

The Thing. every time i watch it i like it a little more.

Yeah. It's probably the best horror movie I've seen. The original, anyways.

Why is the new one out already? I saw an advertisement in OXM not long ago.

I watched Pulp Fiction with my dad yesterday, I hadn't seen it before. I thought it was great, just a bit confusing at start, but when nearing the end of the movie, I realized it wasn't even going in order and I started understanding it a whole lot better. The way it was done was pretty genius actually. I really liked it.

I've never seen that. Or (don't kill me) The Godfather.

Much of the Godfather's original potency has been diluted by cinema copycats. It's still a good movie, but it's not the paragon of cinema gold that it used to be. Almost every film critic in the world disagrees with me though.

It's the same deal with The Exorcist. To this day, there are people who still think it's the scariest movie ever. These people are almost assuredly over 30. I found the movie boring and kind of stupid. It was a different time, I guess.

I've never seen the Godfather as well. I would love to though.

I saw a bit of Alien last night. Great film.

I saw the opposite, Predators.

You do realise there is no inherent connection between Alien and Preadator prior to the crossover, right?

Apart from a xenomorph skull prop in Preadators.

Technically Predators would be the opposite of Aliens. Not Alien.
Although, if we're going by complementary sequels, Predator 2 is the opposite of Aliens.

I'm just making this up.

It's a stupid name though, because they're both aliens and they're both predators. Nevertheless, good films.

Recently I watched the first 20 minutes or so of Blood Diamond but after seeing a kid having his hands hacked off I wasn't really in the mood to finish it.

Blood diamond is great. The rebel commander is probably the best actor in the whole movie.

You're a wiener. You should finish that film. It's really good.

I do intend to finish it. But I was pretty mellow last time I saw it and wasn't expecting the full on brutality. So why watch a film you aren't in the mood for aye?

The chopping hand scene really seems to get people cringing. I didn't really worry.

I took Abbey to see The Secret Life of Arrietty. I really liked it.

I enjoy Ghibli's films almost for the lack of action, I think. Kids movies typically just move from action set piece to action set piece, while their movies actually tell a story. It's as if they want to give the kids enough credit to treat them like they are people, and maybe have enough going on in their heads to sit and watch a story unfold.

Spartacus: Vengeance ep 5. Holy shit.

Someone else watches Spartacus: Vengeance! EP 5 was fantastic.

I watched the first few episodes of the first season...but I'm generally asleep by the time it's on so I never got to see more than four episodes tops.

I watched half of the first episode before I turned it off in disgust.

Pfft. I remember when you wanted to watch Antichrist. How are you going to cope with that if you can't even sit through an hour of blood and balls?

It's general consensus the first episode of Blood and Sand was so unbelievably horrible it pretty much killed off half a potential fanbase.

I would not have carried on after if my flatmate hadn't been yelling at me 'It gets better, believe me it gets better'.
