Notch says he's added one.
He also says he's removed Herobrine.
But he says that repeatedly.
According to the Minecraft wiki, what he actually removed was the Human mob.

Oh my. I should be able to make some neat puzzles with those on my adventure map.
Hey, this thread's over a year old now. Woo.
So uh, is there a release date for 1.9 yet? |
No, as of yet unconfirmed but expected obviously before November.
Anyone seen enderman open his mouth yet? Hella scary.
Yeah, they open there mouthes when they are attacking you. It is quite creepy.
seems that the pre release has been patched to pre release 2 :D
Notch just announced the introduction of magic in Minecraft. Anyone else feel like they're just adding shit for the sake of adding shit now?
I completly agree Havoc. Why doesn't notch look at the amazing Mobs and put them in Minecraft
Buildcraft, Better then Wolves yadda yadda...) Anyway NEWS! Animal Breeding and more Music Discs are set to be released in 1.9 Here's the Yogscast cheaking them out! |
Why would they add magic? To be honest, it seems that they're turning Minecraft into a weird RPG-sandbox game and that isn't a good thing in my opinion. I really liked Minecraft alpha.
i like the new discs, and the disk 11 is really creepy, its like a (presumably)killed human chased by a ghast.also i really feel that minecraft is loosing that thing that it had....
The only disc I liked out of that was the horror one.
And I agree with Dynamithix, what is Notch doing with our beloved Minecraft? |
I really like the Disc 11. I wasn't expecting the actual game sounds of footsteps. Makes you think about all them times your running back to your base when its dark and also reminds your Minecraft is a creepy game.

But why Wariopunk? Whyyyyyy?
Magic does sound a bit off of an idea. I don't think combat needs any further elements - today I realized that I barely use parrying and jump-critting. Then again, magic might not be solely combat-related at all...
More world content, like animals a la Mo' Creatures would be more welcome IMO. I'm not sure about stuff like IndustrialCraft. I mean, it's an amazing mod, but the game kinda loses that rustic, semi-medievalish feel to it. |
Yeah, I don’t like the sound of magic or potions at all. I’d rather just see more world content—more creatures, more biomes, more terrain features, stuff that makes the world more fun to explore. Hell, I’d even take some form of late-game quest for a hidden temple or special items or some shit.
I just want the buildcraft mod and such other huge liked mods for Minecraft implemented in the game. Notch seems to ignore a lot of them though and adding all these weird things in. Does XP have any use in 1.9?
Yeah, I think it boosted your mining speed and how high you can jump or something.
I think there are two things you guys are completely overlooking.
The first is that if you don't like something, guess what? No one's forcing you to build it! If you don't like it, don't do it! If you don't like magic, trash the magic ingredients and get on with your lives. The second is that Notch doesn't just want to replicate mods. That's why he allows mods. He makes the game he wants to make with contents he wants to make. Occasionally something like pistons or flying will be so popular he'll put it in, but mostly he lets modders get on with their own business while he gets on with his. If you like the Mo' Creatures mod, use it! It's there, it exists, its big and complicated and complete; why should Notch waste a load of time remaking something that already exists, and which players can easily get hold of and install if they want to? He's not making magic to replicate magic mods; he's doing it because from when he first made redstone he's been saying he has an idea for how he'd make magic work in Minecraft that he'd like to implement one day. |
True and well put. Sure, mods are easy enough to turn to if you're playing SSP. But it gets a bit more problematic when it comes to SMP, which is pretty much the only MCing I do nowadays. My point was that a proper implementation of a certain feature makes sure that it's available to everyone in a uniform way.
We were just having a conversation about Minecraft mods! I didn't expect a kind of Splattish Inquisition! |
Sorry, I couldn't resist. :P |
Just watched the animal breeding video. Seriously, wtf they breed instantly. It's just like simply spawning animals at this pace -_-
But at a price in wheat. We're gonna need another wheat-farm.
Also, need to give me avatar a fancy red uniform... |
Because Notch has a reputation of being a lazy coder and as such just copied the wolf code for all the other animals. Added a few lines more to make them spawn a new mob. Voila, done.
He's a Multi-Millionaire now, Don't expect him to do actual work now. :tard:
