wow i just cant believe it they are so near to figure out what made the matter for the big bang!!! this will be the greatest discovery in 21th century

They are moving towards being at a point at which they can decide if the hypothesis is correct. They could be completely wrong.

Scraby 12-14-2011 02:43 PM

well we will see the results.I should go into these sorts of things cuz i like physics.

scrabface 12-14-2011 03:44 PM

I thought that might fit in here well:

hmm wery interesting

Crashpunk 12-15-2011 08:36 AM

Did you guys talk about that Earth-like Planet that NASA discovered?

STM 12-15-2011 08:37 AM

Kepler 22b, briefly a page a go. Cool huh?

Scraby 12-17-2011 07:33 AM

did you all read about phobos grunt falling back to earth between january 6 and 19 and also nasa is preparing a specialized shuttle to send to mars with a manned mission.

LDG519 12-17-2011 01:57 PM

I've always regreted not being there for the moon landing, mainly because I wasn't born yet and my father was only 1 or 2, so I'm very hopeful for a manned mission to mars happening in my lifetime, I just hope I'll be near a tv when it happens, even though I know it would have happened about 22 minutes ago when I'm watching it

Scraby 12-17-2011 02:25 PM

mmm i what would i give to be an astronout that would blast of to mars, lol 6 months of doing nothing and you get payed when you return to earth XD

The technological problems are surmountable with time. The psychological ones may not be. They have simulated the journey with real astronauts, and they all went mad.

Scraby 12-17-2011 04:55 PM

well they should use geeks, give them unlimited internet and a super computer and they are yours for a year XD i wouldnt go mad if i were inside, well the only thing i would like is a pressure hatch so i can exit the craft and float around the ship and play catch the ball in space XD.Ppl cant survive in a container if they dont have fun,fun would last for 2 weeks like telling jokes and stuff and then they would all go mad from pure boredom or they might fight...

LDG519 12-17-2011 05:15 PM

access to the net might be difficult as it would take up to 40 minutes for a page to load, that in itself would make anyone mad, I say give them access to a variety of video games including portal 2, the orange box, the entire destroy all humans series and of course all the oddworld games, give them a wide variety of science fiction tv shows including farscape, firefly, doctor who and red vs blue, also give them all of the hitchhikers guide to the galaxy books and a good supply of cokacola and they should be fine, also playing around in zero gravity could help

Scraby 12-18-2011 01:43 AM

that would be fun.I mean they leave the astronauts in space with no dozens of games, thats like playing pacman or mario every day all over, they would go mad in less than a day.

Hang on, what about these guys?

Dixanadu 12-18-2011 06:47 AM

520 days, doing fuck all but talk.

At least if they were going to Mars, they'd have more things to talk about.

Like Mars and why it's so fucking red all the time.

Wings of Fire 12-18-2011 10:22 AM

I can survive for about a week without leaving my room and kitchen and subsisting on the masses of archived entertainment I have. Six months without internet, freedom of movement or other people to talk to would send me mad.

Scraby 12-18-2011 10:29 AM

well i would be mad if i wouldnt have tons of games and ficiton stories to read. Now really they cant send them into space without atleast some fun, what would you do all day, stare at the void, run on a runpad and eat.

Bullet Magnet 12-18-2011 12:20 PM

Actually I think my art and literature productivity would go way up, even though I heavily depend on the convenience of Internet thesauruses and reference images.

For the first few weeks anyway. Even the most socially reclusive of us do get regular, if brief and unappreciated, social contact, and tips outside, which sustains us psychologically. Even then, we've all got terrible mental issues quite possibly as a result of it. You know the ones I'm talking about.

Then things get bad.

STM 12-19-2011 02:08 PM

Time they sent wifi to Mars.

On another note, in history today I finally realised who you look like Marcus! Are you Trotsky incarnate?

Wings of Fire 12-19-2011 02:16 PM

Reincarnate, surely?

Bullet Magnet 12-19-2011 02:40 PM

I don't see it myself. But I would consider "drink-sodden ex-Trotskyist popinjay" to be the highest of compliments.

MA 12-20-2011 08:47 AM

i thought we already established that BM was the kid on the Snafu board game box.

IT'LL RUN YOU R A G G E D !

Bullet Magnet 12-20-2011 02:15 PM

Do you have meetings that I'm not aware of?

STM 12-21-2011 05:17 AM

The Marcus Bodily and Personality Features Interest and Debate Society.

Bullet Magnet 12-21-2011 12:30 PM

That is officially the most disturbing thing I've heard on this forum. Who's in it? I bet Max is.

STM 12-21-2011 01:46 PM

Max is our dear leader.

well this video has something quite interesting to do with space exploration.
