You have good friends.

Ponyo: Serious business.
Or maybe you're arguing that it isn't. I can't really tell. |
1984 - A good interpretation of the book but I felt that it was better in my minds eye but then, books are generally better than the films right?
|
What version? The 1950's version is a horrible trainwreck and anyone who enjoys it should be shot for being cultural detritus.
The 1984 version is pretty good though. |
The coloured one, I didn't know there was a 50s one, why is it bad?

They changed it so it was about Communism being evil and it ends on a high.
|
Really? WTF that's not the book at all.
|
You know how the book ends with Wintson realizing he loves Big Brother, and that's like the ultimate downer? The movie ends with him thinking back to Julia and yelling 'I LOVE YOU!', implying that he won in the end and The (communist) Party can't crush the human spirit.
Of course there a subtle hints throughout the book that INGSOC collapses long after Winston's death, but still. |

You know what movie along the lines really depressed me? Brazil.
Dunno... It had a really sad and creepy ending. The movie itself was good though, and had comedic value. |

Fucking Cappies.
|
Princess and the Frog.
I liked it. |
Saw Harry Potter and thought it was quite good. Absolutely loved the Tale of the Three Brothers sequence. Also, there was far less wandering around with nothing much happening than I expected.
|
goddamnit
|
I have just seen Machete. I had a good time constantly laughing in the cinema. although the finale could have been a lot better.
|
Inception.
It was really amazing, but I might have to watch it again to completely understand the plot. I understood that the levels went like Real life > Dream > Dream's dream > Dream's dream's dream > Limbo |

April and I took Abbey to see True Grit yesterday. It was excellent. It was a surprisingly straight forward western for being a Coen Bros. film, but it was so expertly crafted that it didn't need all the quirks that they usually put in. Some scenes need to be seen in a theatre to get their full effect.
Abbey really liked it. |

I actually enjoyed Inception quite a bit, including the silly 'Dream Science'. I just felt the need to be the first person in the whole world ever to point out how it was pretty silly anyway.
Me and Jordan (attempted) to watch this Bollywood film called Golmaal 3. This isn't particularly noteworthy except for one specific scene, linked below. Now, just for context let me give you the low down: The group of three are the Older guy sitting in front of the television's sons. The other two are the lady's. They just got married, but the two groups don't like each other because they keep ruining each other's get rich quick schemes. Watch at your own risk. Understand there is nothing to 'get' here. It has nothing to do with anything and is never mentioned again. They're just having some kind of...contest. The guy who wanders away to pick up the lamp is an ultimate badass, though. |
I got Expendables for my dad for Christmas and we watched it yesterday. It was enjoyable, but it needed more Schwarzenegger and Willis. :D
EDIT: Just saw Rare Exports. It was fucking amazing, I really recommend it. It's not much like the brutal short films it's based on, but it truly is very good. |
Black Swan.
Black Fucking Swan. Anyway, it's fantastic. Aronofsky is a genius, and Natalie Portman gave one of the best performances I have ever seen. By the end she is simultaneously beautiful, terrifying, vulnerable, and oppressive. I can't say enough about this movie. Go see it. |
Damn you guys and you being in the future <.< Denmark is always so slow with the good movies... *sad*
|
If it helps, I have to wait too till the 21st of January...
|
Close Encounters of the Third Kind.
Slenderman Aliens will haunt my dreams from now on. |
Has anyone seen the last series of 'Peep Show'? It's been brilliant, hasn't it? Apparently though (according to David Mitchell's twitter), there won't be another series until 2012.
|
Mitchell was just on Never Mind the Buzzcocks with Ceelo Green and Chris Packham. Was a good episode that.
|
No, it was Webb.
Saw Stranger Than Fiction again. Still brilliant. |
