What if Squeek has no hands? No moon, problem solved. (rhetorical question)

No it's not, they put Munch's face on his moon, not his hand

@Nate - I just think it seems a bit of a stretch for it to happen five times, unless they've worked it well into the story, I don't know if it'll be a good idea for OWI to do...we'll have to see I suppose.

What if Squeek has no hands?

Then it would be a butt-print, you know how this works.

With Abe the moon seemed to fit because of the arcane and spiritual undercurrent of his journey. But that was an element wholly lacking in Munch, even counting the Raisin and his meditation buddies.

That's his foot.

That's his foot.

Oh wow...now I see. For three years I thought it was his face...

Wil 02-11-2013 09:13 AM

... what?

Are you for real?

Nepsotic 02-11-2013 09:16 AM

To be fair, it's face does look a lot like a foot.

Aye, I thought the bits in-between the webbed toes were eyes and my bad memory filled in the rest.

Jbot123 02-11-2013 12:20 PM

It would be cool if Munch's foot is used as the M in Munch's Exoddus.

Wil 02-11-2013 12:44 PM

And his fins can be the X!

EDIT: I just can't embed.

Bullet Magnet 02-11-2013 09:38 PM

I did think it was his face on my first viewing. As far as I'm concerned the print is upside-down. I guess Munch was just unlucky with his timing and geographical location. Same thing could have happened to Abe, but it didn't.

Jbot123 02-14-2013 02:58 PM

Should fuzzles, chippunks, and Gabbits be considered wildlife? They seem to be intelligent.

Bullet Magnet 02-14-2013 04:07 PM

They are life. In the wild.

Wil 02-15-2013 03:59 AM

They have vocal communication and social culture, but lots of wild animals on Earth have that. What they don't have is architecture, tools, political hierarchy or cultural customs. I'm going to chalk them up as wildlife.

Fred The Fuzzle 02-15-2013 04:09 AM

I have a question, was the Fuzzle design change in Stranger's Wrath universal or is that just the appearance of Fuzzles of Western Mudos?

Wil 02-15-2013 04:26 AM

I don't think there is an answer to that question, and won't be until brand new Fuzzle-featuring games are made.

Personally I prefer the Stranger's Wrath ones purely in terms of plausible bodyshape, and that's the generally shared opinion in the office. If we do Munch-style Fuzzles in the future, they'll probably be a little shifted towards SW proportions, but still keeping their cuteness.

I have a fondness for the early Fuzzle designs where they had whisker, kitten noses and big floppy ears, but that's a pretty big change, and fans tend to not like big changes. It's a delicate balance.

Jbot123 02-15-2013 01:34 PM

I always thought of it as a wilder breed of fuzzle, like how javelinas (sp?) are to pigs, and coyotes are to wolves.

Bullet Magnet 02-16-2013 06:33 PM

Peccaries?

Use them for juveniles.

Use them for juveniles.

I always imagined undeveloped fuzzles as a quarter of the size with less discernible features (very round, almost a perfect sphere). Make it happen Wil, chop-chop.

Nepsotic 02-17-2013 05:19 AM

Who cares that much about fuzzles?

Slog Bait 02-17-2013 05:34 AM

Fuck off. Fuzzles are great.

Well, SW ones are, anyways. I always assumed it was a slight regional difference. The appearance between the MO and SW fuzzles, that is.

STM 02-17-2013 06:26 AM

I don't remember there being that much of a difference between MO fuzzles and SW fuzzles. I'd like to see juvenile fuzzles like the concept art though, that'd be cool. Maybe the whisker thing atrophies with age.

That...or maybe it's a giant sheathable penis.

Bullet Magnet 02-17-2013 07:57 AM

Or an ovipositor. Maybe they're like seahorses. Or facehuggers.

Jbot123 02-17-2013 02:19 PM

If those were juveniles, that would mean that there ears fall of and seal up as they age, which would just be gross.

Wil 02-17-2013 03:33 PM

No wonder you have to yell at seniors to get through to them, for crying out loud!

Bullet Magnet 02-17-2013 06:55 PM

A tadpole's tail shrivels away to nothing. Amazingly, they can still swim.

Jbot123 02-17-2013 08:29 PM

It's still gross. Do mudokons have a sense of smell? How?

Slog Bait 02-17-2013 09:26 PM

I think they made it clear enough muds have a sense of smell in AE. Why else would they say, "Phew!" and take a step away when you farted?

Nepsotic 02-17-2013 09:34 PM

I think if they can taste they can smell.

Bullet Magnet 02-18-2013 06:04 AM

I wonder how they breathe without their mouths hanging open all day.

Slog Bait 02-18-2013 06:19 AM

OBVIOUSLY they breathe through their ears.

Jbot123 02-18-2013 07:05 AM

Maybe they have gills. You see those lines on their chests? They look like ribs at first, but even fatass Buddy has them.

Slog Bait 02-19-2013 04:00 AM

But

they don't need to filter oxygen from water?? Mudokons can't even swim.

I know it's "Odd"world and all, but come on.

Josh 02-19-2013 05:11 AM

They descended from birds. Those are definitely ribs, not gills

JayDee 02-19-2013 05:39 AM

Mudokons: Ribbed for Jbot's pleasure.

They're definitely not gills.

Scrabaniac 02-19-2013 03:44 PM

Sorry to break the topic, just had a realisation; how do the motion sensors detect movement when they themselves are moving? - damn this shiz im smokin is good

MeechMunchie 02-19-2013 03:50 PM

Because a moving surface will still pass faster than a static one.

Nate 02-19-2013 06:54 PM

Because they know how fast they're moving and can take that in to account when they're detecting movement.

It's like how cop cars can detect speeding drivers even when in motion.

Josh 02-20-2013 02:58 AM

Was Abe's speed nerfed in Munch HD? Because I swear he seems slower than he used to be

Wil 02-20-2013 02:59 AM

The whole game was slowed down to be less clusterfuck.

Josh 02-20-2013 03:02 AM

wweh i liked all the fast

So, no Runsneaking then?
