Meh, I never really noticed. They always seemed to jump out of the way when I threw grenades at them.
The "glazed" quality of the graphics never really bothered me, either. What DID bother me was the horrid, inexcusable "draw-in" (I think that's what it's called) effect, like when you came near a stationary object and it "suddenly" becomes textured. It would be somewhat ignorable if it were only in-game and only in the midst of an intense shoot out. But no, the game actually takes time to load textures during cutscenes. Inexcusable. I'm surpirsed you haven't harped on that yet. :p |
the graphic blips in cut-scenes, the fact that you can't see characters for a second or so before all of them are rendered in etc, makes it load a hell of a lot quicker. It is possible that they load it all up at the beginning of each level, like they did with Halo, but they decided to make it all flow as well as possible.

I dun like it, hopefully Bungie will give us a patch to fix that:D
So, what downloadable content does everyone want? I want some new weapons to piss around with:D |
I want the Fuel Rod Cannon to be included in future maps on Live. The Rocket Launcher beats the hell out of it, but I still think it's a lot of fun to use.
I mean, they could at least use it to replace that useless Brute Shot... They should definitely add a few more levels, a Big Team Training mode, and for God's sake, put some MORE variety in the pre-set matches, Bungie. |
I think they should add more multiplayer models like the flood or a brute or maybe even a grunt . And change every models professions . Example : The flood is a fast runner , great jumper and expert at melee . The Brute could have a very strong shield and good at melee . The grunt can't handle some big weapons but is very small and does not appear on the radar . And they could space out some differences between the Spartan and Elites
|
Fuel Rod Cannon ownz. On the rare occasions I came across it in campaign mode, it was good fun. I like it significantly more than the Rocket Launcher. More ammo, faster shots, and looks hella cooler.
Also, there's a good chance I shall be recieving X Box Live. Which means, I can suck it up with you all. More kills for the rest of the world, at least. I'm horrible. Good stuff. |
It be nice to have some more big base levels. Waterworks is ok but by far not the best map in the world. I'd like something of a mix between coagulation and waterworks. And maybe some classic maps from halo 1...damnation (one of my favorite team slayer maps)...hang em high or even chill out. Or get some of those huge maps from Halo PC like the one based on silent cartographer etc.
|
I'd like to see a Sidewinder 2. Maybe another Damnation or Hang 'Em High.
Besides that, I wouldn't give a crap if I never saw a Halo 1 map again. I hated most of them. |
I SO owned on Chill Out. But maybe that was because I was a rocket-camper. Although my needler skills were high too. I agree there should be more big base maps.
Because I haven't got XBL, and when we do a LAN party, with only 2 Xboxes (maybe we should get more :D)), the maps Burial Mounds and Waterworks are, although cool, too large. I remember me walking across BM one day, and I got killed. I got spawned on the other side of the map, all the vehicles were already destroyed, and when I finally got to the battle on the other side, everyone but 1 was dead, and spawned on the other side. Where I spawned. So I killed the lone gunman, and traversed my way to the other side. Same scenario. In the first 10 minutes of the game (Slayer, 250 kills, bonus on), I was behind, like, 20 kills, when I usually lead with 20-40. No bragging intended. So that sucks. I vote for more levels like Coalition (sp? I keep forgetting that name), Sidewinder, and Blood Gulch. |
i would like to see an level that is huge and a mix of Coalition , zanzibar and the highway an map that has more bases on the map and they are like teretories you can own them etc.
|
Bah, i'm happy with the maps the way they are, I want more guns damnit!

You know what's really fun? Make a game variant of Slayer where your primary and secondary weapons are random, then take all the guns off the map. Try it. Much fun.

They took the fuel rod cannon out to balance gameplay on live. But under custom options I believe you can put that as a starting weapon. Because jokingly one round, and also to see how far it could reach I put starting weapons in a slayer game as Sentinel Beam Rifle. And they actually reach really really really far away.almost half way across one of the maps.

Sentinel Beam. WHOO. |

Heh... Try this:
Slayer All Camo All Rocket Launchers No motion No teams And try it on a map like Lockout. Killer game! |
New Jackals, what do you all think?
Me? I ****ing hate every single one of them. Most. Annoying. Enemy. Evar. |
ARG!
Sniper Jackals! ARG! |
I think they've improved over the original Halo. It takes skill now, not to get killed in Outskirts, or any level with Sniper Jackals, on Legendary.
|
I have borrowed it. Is fairly amusing. SMG's are fun, but i don't use them purely for the n00b status that goes with them.
T'is mildly fun. Story's lame and clichéd but what am i gonna do. new guns are fun. They screwed up all the vehicles minus the ghost though. Boo! |
I've got it, and it's ok. It's not the brilliant game that I thought it would be, but it's still ok.
Basically it's the same game as the last one, with a few interesting extra features thrown in, more guns, less old guns, lame banshees, less than half the warthogs they said they would put in, rideable wraith, the spectre, playable as covenant and human, multiplayer maps still as boringly repetative as the last ones, you can take over enemy vehicles, there are now melee specific weapons, you can take weapons from your troops, there's an improved ghost, a spectre, and overall improved graphics. You still can't fly the pelican though, and there is a ton of other stuff that you can't pilot. The gameplay is just as repetative as the last one in my opinion, and the replayability is pretty poor, especially in multiplayer. The game has a lot of potential which hasn't yet been exploited, although this may be because they're saving it up for a halo 3. I don't really like it any more than the old Halo, with the exception of the fact that Halo 2 having more goodies makes it more interesting and less "minimal" like Halo 1 was. :

Hey! I tried the sword glitch, tis good.
Is there a bonus ending for Legendary? I haven't done it yet, but. ...mwgha... |
Has anyone ever walked on top of the central structure (They're pouring out of the middle!) in Delta Halo? I did! It's fun! And you can get onto those big, fallen pillars as well!
Also, has anyone ever been on a hike in outer space on Cairo Station? I went from the back of the station (at the engines), to the other side, past the MAC gun. Oh, the Boarding Crafts aren't solid... I fell to my death (Hmm, in space?) occasionally, while trying to jump on one of them Boarding Crafts |
How do you get up there? I cant do it.
|
Which one?
Cairo Station Remember the part where you have to take a walk in space for the first time (after the small battle with Keyes and Sarge)? If you look out of the airlock, you'll see some sort of ledge. It's possible to do a crouch jump on it. Now, behind that one, is another ledge like that, which is ALSO crouch-jumpable (CJ). CJ on that one, and walk towards the left side of the station (while facing the MAC gun). You will eventually come to a wall, go right there, towards the gun, walking underneath some platform. Now, eventually, you will have the chance to go left again, towards some big gap. It looks like 2 slopes next to eachother, with another platform behind it. Go to the platform. Go to the back end of the station (away from the gun), and eventually, you can walk to the right side of the station, or walk onto another slope. That slope will lead you towards the frontside of the station. Do some exploring yourself, if you don't get it. As for Delta Halo: You will need at least 2 grenades. You know the little slopey thingies, protruding from the center structures? You can get up there with the help of the Tanks Turret. Just hop from one slope to the other, and when you get to the corner, do a 'nade/crouch jump. It's hard, but it is possible. I've found it easier to use a plasma grenade, cuz you can time your jump easier. Throw it RIGHT next to the wall. Now you're on top of the structure. If you look around, you will see some pillars, with TEENSY WEENSY ridges around them. They are walkable. Walkable? Yeah, walkable. This is what you do. Walk (or run) up to the side of the pillar, MC will start to "bounce". You can now (CAREFULLY!) walk around the pillar, with slow speed. Be careful when you're near the end. There will be another platform on the other side. And another pillar. Repeat the same process again. But now, you can just jump to the ridge on the other side. You'll see what I mean. Follow the small ridge up to a big wall. You can grenade jump that as well. But this time, you have to throw the plasma (although frag works as well) further away from the "wall". Do a running/grenade/crouch jump, and you'll be on top of the wall. Now you can walk up the the pillars, and CJ them. The platform directly ahead of you isn't reachable, unfortunately (or maybe it is with the Sputnik Skull, but I haven't got it yet, this is all doable without skulls), but on the other side of the pillars (the right side when you first jump onto the pillars), you can go various ways. It's not much, but you can see the beautiful 2D trees up there. Good Luck! By the way, has anyone ever gotten up onto the 2nd building, in Regret? Not the first one, with the Sword Elites, but the one right after that, before the Gondola Ride? I've tried it a couple of times, but I only have 1 Plasma Grenade, and I need at least 2. In the 2nd building, there's a caved in section. It is possible to jump out of that, and after that you can walk around on a ridge around the building. But there are a number of windows on that part, and I've managed to jump into the first level, but I haven't got further. |
