It's backwards compatible, but the audio is fucked. Stranger's Wrath is not BC at all.

Manco 08-02-2012 09:26 AM

Didn’t JAW release a patch for the 360 version to fix the audio? Did it not work or something?

Varrok 08-02-2012 09:28 AM

I remember the patch being not avaliable in many countries, but I don't know whether they fixed that or not.

Wil 08-02-2012 10:03 AM

It was a misunderstanding. There never was a patch. And if there were, Microsoft are the only ones who could put it out, not us.

JayDee 08-09-2012 12:41 PM

Was it ever said how tall a Kinto Slave is in comparison to a Mudokon?

Wil 08-09-2012 01:47 PM

Not publicly, but I think I recall seeing a height chart with them included somewhere. I'll see if I can find it tomorrow.

Thanks, much appreciated.

According to those height charts Molluck is nearly ten feet tall, while Abe is just over six. I don't trust them

Wil 08-09-2012 02:29 PM

According to me, the height chart I'm referring to hasn't been seen outside OWI and JAW, so I'm not going to assume it's an inaccurate one until I find it back.

JayDee 08-09-2012 02:56 PM

The measurements on the charts are irrelevent for me, I just need a sense of scale between a Kinto Slave and anyother race, I just chose Mudokon for convenience.

Bullet Magnet 08-09-2012 03:59 PM

The measurements indicate the problem. When Molluck is two-thirds again as tall as Abe, you know something isn't right.

Wil 08-10-2012 02:24 AM

If we say Mudokons are six foot, Kintos are 5 foot.

JayDee 08-10-2012 04:26 AM

Thanks again :)

Bullet Magnet 08-10-2012 09:20 AM

It struck me that by estimating Abe's height we could calculate his running speed. Coupled with his ability to maintain that speed indefinitely, we can work out which Olympic running events he would have won, if any.

I'm thinking marathon definitely. I'd need to calculate the for the track events.

Of course, he'd lose long jump by about six meters.

JayDee 08-10-2012 09:29 AM

With the Grenades he throws, perhaps Shot putt as well?

E: From what we saw in Munch's Oddysee we can forget about any Water sports.

STM 08-10-2012 09:36 AM

We don't know enough about his muscle distribution or weight to make any such claims. Really, BM, you call yourself a scientist.

Bullet Magnet 08-10-2012 10:45 AM

Speed equals distance multiplied by time.

STM 08-10-2012 11:45 AM

...Yes, yes it does.

JayDee 08-10-2012 11:48 AM

Yeah, if we take abe's height to be 6 feet we can use that to work out the approximate length of a screen, have him run through the screen now you know the approximate length of it and time it. Genius. :o

STM 08-10-2012 12:38 PM

=O

Speed equals distance multiplied by time.

I thought Speed equals |D/T|. D is distance and T is time.

Bullet Magnet 08-10-2012 03:49 PM

FFS, you're right.

Phylum 08-10-2012 04:18 PM

Well, Vave is S/T. Does Abe actually accelerate?

If we knew the gravity on Oddworld couldn't we calculate the air resistance of a mudukon based on Abe's terminal velocity?

Nate 08-10-2012 04:46 PM

You're all nerds and you sicken me.

MeechMunchie 08-10-2012 05:26 PM

I'm incredibly aroused.

Since Oddworld is 10 times the size of Earth and the acceleration due to gravity on Earth is 9.8m/s^2. Would the acceleration due to gravity on Oddworld be 9.8m/s^2*10 or 98m/s^2?

Phylum 08-13-2012 01:01 AM

That would assume that the density is the same. Size /= mass.

Bullet Magnet 08-13-2012 01:54 AM

It's been discussed at length before, but no one really knows if the diameter, volume or surface area is ten times that of Earth. Each one is a different size.

Nate 08-13-2012 04:47 AM

It's surface area.

Bullet Magnet 08-13-2012 05:08 PM

Ah, Nate knows. How does Nate know?

Damn, I wish this hadn't been brought up. Every time I think of it my mind reels with the consequences, and each time it leads to an uninhabitable planet. Even without a gravity problem.
