Very well put, both of you.

I personally don't have a problem with religious people, its just when they start to persecute others when it becomes a problem. I saw this thing on Prayer a while ago, and a bunch of Christians were asked "If a Buddist prayed for another person to become better, would his or her prayers be answered?" or something like that, they answered "No, because they're not praying to the one true God. Their prayers will be ignored. Only ours will be answered.". Now, even though we do have some quite decent Christians [and i say that because they think that God will let you into Heaven if your Heart is in the right place and not by what religion you were brought up] it seems that most of America is a rather large, Christian-bastard. This is one of the only reasons i dislike America, because of its bastard-overly-persecutionlyness-of-other-Religions. Its very Hitler-esque.

Anyway, God controls everything aside from us, right? So, why does America get everything from Forest fires to Tsunami's to Hurricanes? The majority of natural disasters happens to America. Surely this is God saying "O-M-G, STOP BEING SUCH WANKERS!!". England hardly ever gets such badness. We only get a flood. I don't think God likes America much.

I do think its a shame though that Americans will never be able to get away from the cycle of the Bible. They're force fed it viciously from birth and even though you get the few Americans who will lead their own way in life, not dictated by a book, the majority will obey the Bible for ever more. Have kids. And force it onto them. Its worrying to think that such an old book is the cause of so much hatred.

Plus their military is crap, they kill more of themselves than they do the enemy!

Well, I went off on too many tangents in this post, so just read my next post, for what I was trying to talk about. I just had so many different things to say, and was not entirely sure how to express them at that time.

I myself when I read this today wasnt entirely sure of how some of the post even made sense.

Lucipher 12-14-2003 07:56 AM

I didn't understand a word of what Al said, so i'm just going to leave this thread quietly, also can you say that shorter next time.

Sorry, I wrote that before going to sleep, what I was trying to put before I went off on a few tangents, is that not everyone in the U.S. is your typical "Bible" freak, or Religious maniac.

In my opinion it doesnt matter whether you are Christian, Jewish, Muslim, whatever. If you pray to god, or another diety. God still listens to you, and hears your prayers.

I dont think if you are a good person, and not a follower of Christ, you burn in Hell.

I also stated, that I do have disputes with my Religion (Roman Catholic). I do believe in Jesus, as the son of God, and Savior. I believe in God. I just think certain things in the bible stories, etc. Need to be interpreted by us, I dont think there is one right way of interpretation.

I also mentioned the possibility for human error, in translating the word of god.

Finally, I went on ending with we should just be a bit more tolerant, with each other's religious beliefs, if we want to make the world a better place.

Yeah. And on top of that, we're all viewed by other countries as basically a bunch of Homer Simpsons. Fat, lazy, rude beerbellied loudmouth ignorant football fans. Although the majority of Americans are morons, many of us are not.

Man, I want to move to Europe.

Alcar 12-14-2003 11:58 PM

The core beliefs of Religion still exist, The.Heretic. It is what compells most people to do good.

Alcar...

The.Heretic 12-15-2003 01:08 AM

Oh sure, it compells people to do good.

It also started almost every war in history. So while all these bastards stand outside train stations handing out flyers about why I should believe in Jesus, because they are so "compelled", the rest of them go nuke the Jews because of what they are. Let the Christian Extremists spray Mosques with obscenities, let the Jews kill the Muslims in Palestine, let some 70 year old Preist get a 5 year old to suck him off, let the world go down the shithole, because some half nazi half christian fanboy with a fist full of flyers and a spraycan feels "compelled" to do good.

Religion is just another excuse for segregation. Want proof? Look at all the "what religion are you" threads, or every census with "religion here" slapped in the middle of it. If we were all Athiest, the world would be a better place.

Jacob 12-15-2003 08:53 AM

If it was prooven that God didn't exist then the whole Law/moral-thing would have to be re-acknowledged. Mainly due to the fact all Laws today have some roots back in the day when God was worshipped.

If God isn't real then who says killing isn't good? What about adultery?

Anyway, i said most of my sense-makingness in my most recent post. So i have nothing more to add, as of yet anyway.

Oh and i think American teens can be hot. Tanned. Nice bodies. Nice accents. Its just their personalities that f*ck them up, especially if they're part of Religiousness.

And another thing that f*cks them up is when they reach adulthood. And turn into morons.

Did you know that the majority of Americans think Haggis is a real animal? And that if they ever went to Scotland they'd want to hunt it...yes...thats right, i said 'f*ckwits' under my breath.

Ahahaha.
And they run the world?

Alcar 12-16-2003 01:57 AM

Wars and all things bad that have been started as a result of religion, have been caused by humans interpretting religion incorrectly - or to their advantage.

The whole child molestation scandals are regular not only with some priests, but it happens in a lot of other places. It is nit picked at, because religion is an easy target, and is a subject the media can use "to the max".

Religion, and Athiesm are such easy targets to pick at, and both have valid cases. Why not use your energy to help others, and be the ideal, caring, helpful Athiest. By continually demeaning Christianity or any other religion for that matter, you are only living the stereotypical grumpy Athiest view.

Why would people want to live if they know that nothing will come out of it?

I could go on and on, and I've just realised I've ranted from one topic to another. I should stop myself now...
