Turns out these aren't Meeches, the "name" bit is misleading, this lil guy didn't have a name but it has been decided in the discord that his name is Chubby. I've since made him my background cause he's just so freaking cute. :fuzsmile:

Nice! So this guy and the Meech are two halves of a symbiotic creature? That's interesting, if I'm understanding this right. Should we assume they simply coexist in a mutually beneficial way, or take the more literal view that they physically combine to create a Shrykull-esque Meech/"Chubby" hybrid?

I was wondering if the nails are a half-assed glukkon way of preventing the symbiosis? He looks to have a kind of channel/opening in his back where perhaps a Meech could interlock (for lack of a better term). Maybe to stop the creatures working together, the gluks nailed the opening shut?

This meech symbiotic creature we have here looks similar in style to the Oddworld concept art back from when the game was going to be more tribal/mystical and less industrial. I would have thought the second 'half' of the meech would look quite different to the one we know of from AO, as well.

What is very much interesting is how Glukkons evolution history looks now when we have all this concept arts. Glukkon Queen based on bird, as sketches found on the site shows, so they probably are descendants of birds too, like Mudokon. How much insane nature should become to transform birds into octopus creatures and make them amphibian parasites, while left them ability to reproduce by eggs and organizing them in a hive! :D

Nature is what inspired, and still do to this day, artists to make innovative art. Just like it did with Pisanello or Da Vinci for example.
I believe there's nothing that is not inspired from something that already exists in any form in our universe.

The beauty of Oddworld in its psychedelic. This is what makes it piece of art, frightening but such a welcome dream. Makes me truly deeply love it.

Is anyone else really bored of pictures of Munch? I want to see new things! I yawn every time we're presented with a known character from a different angle. And rejected designs really don't enlighten us at all about the world we're all here to appreciate.

I was getting a lil bored but I personally love this image. I think it shows a side to a character we never got to see and I always love these really expressive faces on characters whom we're not used to seeing them show emotion/much of.

There does seem to have been a focus on Munch somewhat. People have speculated he could have an appearance in SoulStorm, especially since Vykkers have been confirmed. Do you reckon he's being steadily teased?

I personally would love Munch to be in SS. I think there's an interesting dynamic between him and Abe that MO never properly explored which has a lot of potential if you ask me.

Agree. Though if there will be more Abe pictures, I won't complain because I love him more. But new characters will be better choice.

I think it's just that Munch famously went through a lot of design iterations, so they have a lot to draw from.
