They should totally do that.
But perhaps not with ESC Toy. I'm not a big fan on how those guys handled the whole Kickstarter campaign. |

Well...
Almost no communication or advertisement from ESC toy. Most of the advertisement I saw for it was coming from Oddworld Inhabitants, not ESC toy. ESC toy told me we would see the poster when the campaign was funded. The campaign got funded and we still haven't seen the poster's artwork. The tiers were badly designed, for instance there was no easy option to get all four plush toys. And finally the master set was way too expensive for what it actually contains. |

Just incase anyone who pledged for the Kickstarter is unaware, the email 'surveys' went out a week or so ago. Looks like the toys are on track for delivery in January sometime.
Prior to this, Erick commented that they were awaiting design confirmation from Lorne, so it's unclear whether any changes have been made from the prototype designs. Regarding the survey itself, as far as I could tell, it only asked for my address for delivery. I was under the impression from what ESC Toy said previously, that the surveys would include a questionnaire on further merch that fans would like? I guess it was either overlooked or canned. |

Y'all got jacked by crowdfunding again

The poster is the only thing that's not been delivered and from the sounds of It, it's out of their hands so I don't see what the massive issue is.
|
were the plush toys fanmade??

As much as I do feel they could look better (though I do like them as they stand), the plushes are more a piece of Oddworld history to me. It's the first time any of these characters have been rendered as an officially licensed physical model/toy. Maybe in the future we will get statues, figurines etc. But these plushes will always be the first :)

I'm gonna wait for the figures

I knew they were into these things :)

I've not been using Twitter and so only just noticed that ESC Toy have posted some pics of the finished KickStarter rewards (not sure why these weren't sent to backers in an update?)
https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DPQacfmUQAAJn04.jpg:small Someone asked about changes to the prototypes - Munch is now grey not pink, which I must admit I prefer! Other than that, seems to be the same. There's also a photo of the PVC tags (Abe + Munch), which are stated to become available through the ESC Toy store. No mention of the Stranger tag that was the project add-on. https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DPQQ8lJVQAAcp_4.jpg:small Backers can expect to receive them in January! |
so Abe is blue but green on the PVC?
|
Yeah, the art style is somewhat different between the tags and plushes. Originally Munch plush was pink, while his PVC tag was always grey. Even the limited edition Lulu Munch tag seems to feature Munch drawn in a different style to his regular tag :fuzconf:

I just received mine!:D
Edit: Currently carefully digging around Abe's head for the "on" switch to make him fart. E:E: Abe plushie! From escotoy https://imgur.com/gallery/LP6Mc The lioncloths "simplicity" bugs me but the stitching at the seams are tight and very sturdy and put up fine during brief unfortunate tug of war amoung toddlers before i I saved him D:' Those vultures ! Lol The scars are stitched amazingly. I'm nitpicking at the design a bit but is well built and now farts when i hug 'im. Overall happy to have this plushie  |
Nice, I've had shipping confirmation too. Looks like US customers are likely to get them before Christmas, overseas... not so likely :fuzsad:
Couldn't see any image via your link! With regards to the sound effect switch/mechanism, are they accessible through any kind of velcro pocket or are they permanently stitched inside? If the latter, I guess the battery will die eventually :fuzconf: |
All four designs are now available for purchase.for a limited time:

Right...
So buying Abe, Munch + Alf (with tags) through the store will now cost $152. I paid $165 through the kickstarter plus an extra $40 shipping, what the hell was the incentive to do that then? Seems a bit of a cheat, unless I'm missing something :fuzmad: EDIT Ok fair enough, I got my costs wrong, the Kickstarter was $165 including shipping! Never mind. UK shipping for the same set through the esctoy store is only $21 not $40, but that brings the final thing to being about $3 cheaper in the Kickstarter. |

Abe plush battery location https://imgur.com/gallery/Jls8u When you first get the Abe plush you must find a little clear plastic tab on the little white battery pack inside Abe's head and pull it off gently or the sound mechanism wont work, even if you flip the "on" switch on the battery pack E: Also here are my pvc tags https://imgur.com/gallery/gO2S7 |
Cool, I'm glad they made the batteries accessible :) Didn't realise there was an esc-toy tag too, that's neat. They seem well presented with the labels and stitching, finishing touches etc
