I have the opposite. I tell a joke and all people take it seriously.

My apologies Job, That was a very dumb moment from me. I completely misunderstood you.
I also knew your a girl. I sometimes just quickly type out my responses without too much of a thought. I didn't knew I even offended you. I've gotten so used to referring everyone as guys, it's become a habit. I meant nothing by it. Again, Sorry :( |
Aha, now that we've completely broken Shade down we can start building him up again.
One of us, one of us. |

Ive been playing yugioh the last 3 weeks, thats like the slowest game on the planet! |
Everyone makes mistakes

Varrok stop teasing him when he's not doing the thing you hate. However I unfortunately have to bring it up in relevance now.
If the game is episodic that could really hurt the speedrunners, and I have seen, off of the forums, that speedrunning N'n'T is pretty big, but if TzF is episodic I doubt the community would pick it up the same. |
IT'S NOT FUCKING TZF
:
|
I have a question : is the AE remake a good idea to begin with ?
|
Vlam pls no
The remake seems like the next logical step, they have a renewed fanbase, and a lot of readily available assets. :
|
Why? It's become a tradition. Like one of those Nostalgia Critic running jokes which won't die.
|
:
It wouldnt stop me, as im an IL runner at heart. There are 10+ categories for NnT on speedrun.com/onnt. Logically, if it was episodic, the default categories would be: Episode 1 (whatever difficulty), Episode 2 (etc.). and then the full game when released. If each individual episode had its own In game timer then itd be speedrunnable for sure. A hat in time is still in Beta, and its got a large community for speedrunning. But I agree in that theres a possibility that some people might not jump on because of it, but it wouldnt stop me. I was running all the levels individually for 5 months before I did my first speedrun of NnT. |
Oh, you do speedruns?
|
nep I swear-
I brought it up, not him. :
2. that doesn't really have anything to do with episodes |
:
|
Can we get Shade a custom title saying "I'm a Speedrunner by the way" :tard:
:
And it's the next logical step. They already remade Oddysee with an overall positive reception. |
:
I dont know of other episodic games, besides telltales stuff and other Point and click games. |

Lots of people would've found out about AE through the AO remake, and honestly it's not a pain in the arse at all on newer systems. It plays fine on PS3 and PSP, and I've never had an issue with it on Steam. It would just be spending money where it's not needed, they could start on a new Oddworld game instead. However, I hope they don't, because I'm not that excited for the future of Oddworld, and an Abe's Exoddus remake would be awesome. |
I just think now people are just expecting it. And well I don't blame them.
|
I would say it definitely is the next logical step. If they are to be belived a brand new Oddworld game isn't really affordable and considering New n Tasty was a success why not take advantage of that with the remake of the sequel, especially one that's in demand from many fans, like they did with Exoddus back in 1998?
|
:
|
It makes sense because they want more money and attention before they make something new, which is more of a risk.
|
:
"OMFG ITS NOT A SEQUAL ITS A BONUS GAME YOU GUYS SUCK" I'd like to clarify I do want a remake of AE, I just don't think it's as important as you do. |
:
That being said, at least with a remake of Exoddus, they might finally have an excuse to produce Sligstorm. Wasn't that going to run off the same Oddysse/Exoddus engine? If so, it would make sense for Sligstorm to follow. EDIT: This makes me wonder, what happens after Exoddus/Sligstorm? Will we get a remake of Munch, or will we skip straight ahead to an auxiliary Munch story or Squeek? Because new audiences who are experiencing the remakes in chronological order might be thrown off if they have to go back and play the (arguably) inferior entry in the Quintology. Considering this is a "new" canon (with the re-design of RuptureFarms and extended humour) do you think Munch will be erased in favour of a new vision, or will audiences be expected to go back and experience the great spooceshrub adventure before continuing the journey? |
Frankly, I wouldn't mind not having Exoddus remake. If they make it, I will probably not buy it anyway.

No, I'm being serious. I've realised that my interest in new Oddworld games has been rapidly declining since Munch's Oddysee, and despite the fact that I wanted to kind of revive it with NnT, all in all I felt moderately dissapointed with a few of its aspects, both creative and technical, which some of you mind find minor, but for me were vital components of AO.
That said, I do not consider NnT a bad game. A bad remake, maybe, but if to judge the game of its own, it's pretty solid. I do understand the work JAW put into this game, but I try not to sacrifice honesty for sympathy. Sorry. I wrote this because my previous post seemed douchy and needed further explanation. |
If you truly gave up hope and interest for oddworld you wouldn't be here lol :P
You just gotta have faith man. It doesn't hurt to see something die or change. Just laugh at it and move on, knowing you still got the original stuff. Take Crash bandicoot for example. It got progressivly shittier as the game moved on. I laugh at it and its character designs constantly, but i still love the shit out of the franchise for what it meant to me. The way I see it, an AE remake is the final stepping stone to a new Oddworld ip and new stories/art from its universe. Just gotta hold out and roll with the punches. ..And you're gonna buy. And you're gonna like it.. Like those people who say they give up on HL3. Once it gets announced everything changes lol. Everyone will be talking about it non stop and it'll be in your face so much that you'll have to check it out. You cant win. You cant lose. completely. You just lose a little bit by bit. Like all of us. Especially Nathan Packletwain. |
Buying a game that isn't fun for you is ridiculous. I wouldn't buy any main Crash games after the 3rd one excluding TwinSanity
|
:
|
I didn't give up hope for AO and AE. They still exist.
|
:
The Oddworld series used to be my favorite but it stagnated and I've moved on to other things. I'll still purchase TzF and it's scary to think that varrok wont. He's not doing anything wrong by not wanting to purchase it, but the fact that he wouldn't be interested means there's a lot of people that wouldn't buy it, either. |
Furthermore CP, there is no end to the remakes : why not make MO before SW before AO (a reboot thing, never ending cycle) ? And, let's face it : JAW will never be rich, even with Tzf. So, what's the point if Squeek's game will be not a big game but a indie little game ? Which mean, if OWI has ambition then they are suppose to get in touch with a real big studio. The problem is : Lanning has, unfortunately, not grow (cf. EA "big bad studio" all over again).
But I am not naive, I know it can stop just after TzF (even before, the game is just "planned"). |
What are you talking about?
|
What don't you understand ?
|
Vlam, I could handle shade's speedrunning spewage but I don't know if I can handle you constantly attempting to callout owi. We all do some sort of callout here and there because we have genuine worries or complaints but it feels like all you're doing is trying to find issues and Lanning conspiracies. There pretty much no chance they're going to remake MO, we've already put that in the box no not that one and SW has already been re-released. And even if they did, 1. fucking hell to the yes for a MO remake, 2. they wouldn't remake the AO remake.
:
|
I am not trolling (sorry for my bad English). What conspiracies ? Lanning did bitch about EA and Microsoft. But JAW should do the MO remake (just because it will be a complete disaster if JAW tried to make a real new game in 3D on their own). And yes, it's possible to see a new remake of AO, not now but in 20 years.
I don't see Lanning saying (fortunately or unfortunately), after Tzf : "thanks, you guys, keep up the good work, but now we are searching for a better studio, see ya !". |
